I was thinking to buy some press release service from some quality freelancer at Seocheckout and i was reading that it can improve organic traffic to my website and boost SEO. If you used this kind of service before, i would like to hear from you how it affected your website and what was your experience.

I would advise you purchase from them, if extremely affordable, and aim it at an article on a 3rd party website that you don't care about. Watch the rankings of that article and if you like what you see then purchase from the seller.
Some people will use less than great software to distribute your article to a few hundred press release and news type websites in hopes you get some to stick.
Another thing to look for is if the seller is writing a unique article for each release or if they are just spinning an article so it is "unique". If they are writing a unique article for every submission then ask for a writing sample. If the sample looks like it was written by a third grader then I'd be purchasing form someone else or doing the release myself since the native language of the seller probably isn't English. If they are just spinning one article so that it's "Unique" you may run into a few problems later on when you get hit by a penalty if Google dumps an algorithm update on us that targets horribly spun content.
Another thing is that now press releases don't help with SEO as much as they did 5+ years ago. Only use a press release when you're pushing a new update or you just launched your site. A press release is more of a branding play than a shot at increase search engine rankings.
Ask the seller for a list of websites they'll be submitting to. If they don't want to divulge their list it probably means they're using a free service and/or software to post to free websites that are already spammed with these type of submissions. There are a few services out there that charge $450-$750 a month to use in order to push press releases through them and they are definitely worth it if you do them daily. Not all of us need to push press releases daily so if you find someone using these services it's probably because they are professionals at this type of job. If they are using these types of services then they will more than likely give you a list of where they will be posting your articles since you probably can't do this yourself. People are willing to pay the high price for these services because they either purchase for their company and have someone posting for their business every day. Or they have a press release service that sells $75 press releases and they make a couple hundred sales a month.
So in the end:
Thanks,
Razzy Be careful when purchasing press release distributions. This can actually kill your website if you buy from the wrong person.
