It means you have to take a photo of yourself of you holding your government issued ID to verify your identity.

Take a picture of you and your id card in your hand, in front of the mirror, or take a selfie.

Sorry but it sounds absurdly and I got same info as a reason for rejection of my identification documents (uploaded them 3 or 4 times already). Anyway, I got further question: where am I suppose to upload this selfie?

this whole topic looks liek a joke to me..."Please submit a selfie holding your ID"... what will be next? selfie with my address in front of my house with invoice in hand that has the address on it?

Some platforms do ask for that, yes. It's to prevent fraud from scammers. If you're not one, then it shouldn't be an issue.
