A do follow link passes page rank to the site/page that it's linking to. Conversely, links that are no follow do not page page rank. And by default, all links are do follow. You have to place a special piece of no follow code in your page to make the links no follow

In other word to compare it , for DO-FOLLOW link , Google will crawl and take Page rank point for that link on the page, For NO-FOLLOW link, google still crawl it but ignore page rank point for that link. which mean you did'nt get any advantage on page rank for No-Follow link, but dont ignore No-Follow link at all because it will be useful
