Some mistakes I've made along the way

I have developed a few web applications which I didn't get the payments. It's really my careless or naïve mistake. I have been working with one of the clients for a few projects and got my payments, so I trusted him on that particular project as well and I didn't ask for up front payment first. That was a bigger project and payment. For the other projects, those are actually a few other friends'. They came up with the ideas and I started working on it and even completed the applications, but they have just lost interest or didn't want the applications. I learned that these friends can't really be trusted. Though it seems like I have wasted time and effort in building those applications, I just take these as "learning opportunities" for myself, and in future if I need to develop a similar application, it'll be easier for me since I have already done the "sample projects".
