IS MY PHONE GETTING ME SICK?

I'm always glued to my phone and my mother has been complaining for a while now. Last week I came down with malaria and my mother said "why won't you have malaria when you're always on your phone?" lol. I had no idea we now have malaria-causing phones. How do the people around you react to you being constantly on your phone or laptop?

It's true that phone obsessions are not a myth nowadays, but yet again, don't blame the tool. Anything can be both good or bad, depending how it's used and by who. Obsessions nowadays come off as videogaming, clubs, bodybuilding and etc. Better have it balanced, my friend. IS MY PHONE GETTING ME SICK?

My friends have been taunting about my incessant use of phone and because they are yet to understand online earning they believe I just play around with my phone alot. So I can understand in your own case.i don't think using a phone incessantly can make one sick but we should still apply caution when using it.

It doesn't make one sick, but making use of the phones always can make one feel tired, which is what I have experienced as well. I always take some break and don't press my device through the night as well.

When I use the phone too much my body starts to tell me. My eyes begin to hurt, I get headaches and I get an overall nauseating feeling. Everything must be used properly and not get over abused.

I don't think using a phone and Malaria has a connection. But if you're using your phone a lot in a place which has a lot of mosquitoes then that may be the cause of your malaria.

So basically your phone indirectly got you malaria. Lol.

I think, it only depends on yourself how important a phone to you. Just make sure you are responsible in handling it. Take time to use it properly on important matters. Try to spend time on your parents and do valuable things aside from hanging with phone. Don't get yourself hooked on using gadgets like 24/7 fanatic. It's best to balance everything including our craziness.

I think it depends. Maybe when you use all the time it may affect your health. That's why we should limit using our phones.

I'm a grown adult. They don't really mind, unless I've spent an entire day on it. It's not because of illnesses that isn't at all connected with technology use. But it's mostly because of my eyes. I have very bad eyesight and glares from phones and laptops just make it worse, that means I'll need to change my glasses. Which isn't really convenient since I live so far from the mall where I get my glasses from.

I’ve read a lot about phones literally making people sick because of the crazy amount of bacteria they accumulate. Then you’re putting that right up near your face, specifically your nose and mouth - the perfect spot for germs to enter your body! I guess phones can make people sick when you think about it that way.

Speaking from a medical perspective, the only way you'll get malaria is through a mosquito bite. And so, your phone dependence cannot be blamed for your illness. However, addiction to gadgets or the internet, or any addiction in fact, may lead to self-neglect, which results to poor health and poor health-seeking behavior.

I've always heard that phones emit some kind of unhealthy radiations, but I don't think we've got to the point where we can commonly see those effects. We might even be becoming more resilient to whatever ills cell phones cause.

Lol, of course that phone can not get you sick. But I know why some people are saying that phones can get you sick. It is because so many people are nowadays using their phones constanly, browsing the internet, social media, taking selfies, playing video games. The smartphones are always in their hands. And older people who are not using technology as younger people do tend to think that the "guilty party" for some illness is actually some smartphone, because people keep their phones near their heads. Same thing with computers.

In some case, maybe you could get any other kind of sickness but it wasn't the phone causes it, it was the obsession of using your device. For the people who is not paying attention of their health because of their addiction on using their phone cause some sickness or disease. You could also get some eye problems with it. So we must still aware and be responsible for using our mobile phones.

I think people don't understand where sickness comes from. I think what your mother was trying to tell you was you must be tired because you are always on the phone. I agree that being in the phone always can cause you to have fatigue. Malaria is contracted through mosquitoes and has nothing to do with fatigue.

Well the answer is maybe. If you're using your phone too much then it might be the reason that you get sick, I noticed that with my brother, he said that he cant control it, he is using his phone too much which in return makes him so lazy and he really noticed physically he is so tired and he have headaches and overall just feeling sick, using phone too much in my own experience too can really make you sick, and that's not a good thing. You need to balance your life out.

Well, being addicted to your mobile phones can certainly be very harmful for your health in the long run. However, if you are using your phone for your online work then you will have to use your phone for longer time. It's always better to try and limit the use of your phone to the minimum to avoid any health risks in the future. The habit of using your phone for playing online games for hours together can be the main reason for mobile addiction and it should always be avoided.

I don't think that mobile phones can cause Malaria. However, it is true that when a person becomes too obsessed with his or her cellphone, it can result to a harmful effect. When someone used cellphones more than the usual will cause them a negative effect on their brains and body. Anything that is too much is a toxic. Moderation is the key.

I am very much addicted to my phone and I'm controlling it buy doing things that help me put my phone down but I'm doing a lot better now. The people around me don't seem to care about it though, in fact I'm more worried about them because they're on Facebook a lot, scrolling during dinner/lunch or when I'm out with my friends, they're always holding their phones & checking their news feeds while my phone is in my bag. I understand if they're responding to important texts or chats but when I see my friends scrolling on their news feeds, it's like a slap to my face, I mean they make me feel like they're bored with me.

The discussion had me smiling like a idiot and at the same wonder. I been acting the same for the entire weeks since class has ended for the holiday. Most times, I am glued to my phone by checking emails and tasks I could do to earn bucks. My parents and siblings seems to worry about me because I had been doing a lot of stuff lately. My phone could have sued me if it has the power to do so for being overused. My laptop is not an exception as well, half of the time is spent using it in order to download and upload important file I need for my work. Although, scientifically cellphones and laptop do not caused malaria as what you have stated, it has the power to create health concern because of radiation. Eye strain has been my contain complain for being continually exposed to cellphone and laptop all day.

As for me, my phone has been a blessing to me. I can contact my family and friends through it. I just use it in moderation.

Maybe you're too busy with your phone that you have not noticed that mosquitoes have already bitten you. Just kidding. Being addicted to phone can be very destructive depends on how you are using it. Sometimes you are neglecting other aspects of life which is equally or more important than your phone. For example, I have a friend who was dumped by his girlfriend simply because this friend of mine has been addicted to mobile games and neglected his relationship with his girlfriend . For a relationship to prosper, both of them should set aside time for each other without distractions so that they could develop a deep and meaningful relationship. But how could this happen if one's focus is on the mobile game? Another thing, if all we do in life is just fiddling on our cellphone and have no physical or social activity whatsoever. I'm pretty sure, we gonna end up fat and lonely destroying ourselves in the process.

Such a funny story! My mom says that my phone and laptop get me stressed, an on a certain degree she's right. As all my work is done on my phone and laptop, I get stressed at them sometimes. Not because of the devices themselves, but of the people behind the devices that hire me.

No!!!! The phone isn't making you sick, the screens can be 'hard' on your eyes, but shouldn't cause other symptoms... Your eyes can become red, but nothing more should happen. But try to use it less....

What? malaria? How so you like live in an area where there are numerous mosquitoes and limited light at night. Have not yet done the study but my hypothesis as a scientist would be that the phone light attracts numerous mosquitoes.

Too much use of the mobile phone can weaken your resistance but I’m not saying that you got malaria because of that. From what I know malaria is a virus that is spread by mosquitoes so that a mosquito bite can be fatal. There were many who died from malaria due to the lack of medicine. But I know that malaria is curable although you cannot neglect the symptoms otherwise it can be fatal.

Well, I personally think that it depends on the person. You can use your phone every now and then because of your job, but you can still live a healthy lifestyle. It all depends on how you take care of your body.

Excessive use of cellphone or laptop has a variety of negative effects on a person. Back pain is a common problem among people who spend long hours sitting while working with the computer. I personally experience this problem. For freelancers who work at night, sleep deprivation is a common issue. Addiction to cellphone or computer could also affect the social life of a person. And obviously, people who spend more time on cell phones and computers are not getting enough exercise that can indirectly lead to poor physical condition.

Aside from the radiation you can get from using your mobile phone. Excessive use of mobile from can cause eye strain thus can lead to vision problems. Another thing is that you are not consious enough of your posture so it can also give you back pain.

My mother acts and says the same things when I complain that I can't sleep too, "you can't sleep because you're always on your phone, turn it off and see!" LOL. I'm sure your excessive phone usage has nothing to do with you acquiring malaria. The best course of action to take is to get rid of stagnant water in your household. hehe

I think it is normal to react on you the fact that you are glued to your phone and not using your time to do household cleaning or even making yourself more productive. You, saying that you are glued to your phone, I assume that you are doing freelancing online, watching videos or playing mobile games. The point is, we should always make our life balance. We need to learn how to socialize.

I try to use my phone only when I have to. So my family doesn't bother me for using it. I believe that everything you do in your life should be balanced. But it is obvious that our generation is more than just addicted to the technology. And that can lead to some health issues, directly and indirectly. Instead of spending time outside doing sports and recreation, you are sitting in your room on the chair in front of the computer for hours. That cannot be healthy. So, my advice is to use your phone and computer as less as you can, to go out, to inhale fresh air, to play any sport, to hang out with real people. That is healthy life.

My entire career and most of my friend's careers are phone and computer based so it's less weird when your career culture requires technology. That being said maybe take some time away from your phone and computer as looking at the screen can damage your eyes and given you early on-set arthiritis. Also your mom is absolutely off insane if she thinks you got malaria from your phone, you got it from moaquitos, but please make sure you're taking the proper precautions so you don't get it again in the future.

It really depends of how you use the device but maybe you get sick using the devices. One of the example of this is over expose on radiation but not malaria, lol.

No, there's no way a phone can cause malaria, obviously. But staring at a glowing rectangle for hours each day can cause some eye problems. This is why many experts recommend that we limit the amount of time we spend each day on phones and other electronic devices.

Spending too much time using your laptop/pc/mobile phone can also be harmful to our body because we get to expose ourselves to too much radiation. Another problem is when you skip meals and even going to the bathroom. This is not good. I know of someone who got hospitalized because of doing this. She spent too much time on her phone, to the point that she was skipping her meals and she lacked sleep. She then complained that her head hurts so bad and she just suddenly collapsed. In my own experience, I also noticed that when I spend too much time online, I’m having a headache so I think there must be something there that is not good for the body.

My mother does the same thing. Whenever I catch a cold and have cough, she’ll blame it on my excessive use of my gadgets. Though I know that excessive use of gadgets can have significant effects on your health, I don’t think that they are entirely related to every illness that our body encounters. It’s probably just due to some environmental factors that may have been overlooked.

I have seen phone addiction gone wrong with many people. For example, some people getting obsessed with the selfies. Some people forcing others to like and heart their images and the replies. And some people expecting other people to understand and like the views presented on the social media. I think there are people who got sick of using internet enough that they have committed suicide and also harmed other people.

Ah the typical response parents give. Maybe we'll approach them with our intestines hanging out of our stomachs and they'll still blame it one our phones, lol. But yes, phones do give health problems because of the radiation. It can damage our eyes, make us feel weak and tired because of the radiation and all. I'm no expert but that's what they have always said.
