I agrew with you, also make it mobile friendly. Because a lot of people now a days use mobile more than pc. And, it is such a bummer to visit a non mobile friendly website.

clap for yourself for five times for posting this point my friend. There are billions of smartphones all over the world and their usage in the various tasks online is immense and when your site is not accessible via online means then you are at a huge loss.

Exactly. I've encountered almost a hundred websites that isn't mobile friendly and they're such a headache especially at times when I want to access them but the only available device I have on my bag is my Smartphone. One personal example is my school's website and to think that it was developed by an IT expert, I am really pissed because whenever I want to access the portal to see my grades, I can't see anything when I open it using my Smartphone. It's a good thing that Seocheckout can be accessed on mobile and is mobile friendly.

It is wonderful that most sites are now mobile friendly. Some years ago it used to be very hard. Downloading some videos was nearly impossible. Even signing up and logging into a site was hard. Not anymore. Sites have embraced phones.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
True. I can still remember how it was hard back then especially that everything around was just starting to develop. I can actually still remember how YouTube looked like when I started using internet in 2008, three years after it was founded. I am actually a bit amazed before that such big websites like YouTube can fit on a Smartphone especially in 2012 when my elder brother first bought his first Smartphone. I'm actually a bit embarrassed about that fact especially when I realized that Smartphones are a thing already in the states while my country was still behind.

I agree with you, I always use my phone when I am browsing or buying something online and visiting a website that doesn't support my mobile, is really annoying.

I agree with you that it is important to make it mobile friendly since users are using smartphone. It is more convenient and fast access. Plus, it is also a good point to update contents in a site. This will invite users to check updates on what's new. It would also be nice to have a forum section in a site for interaction purposes.

I think this is very important. Being easily contactable, and actually responding promptly to any customer/reader queries or concerns is a huge thing in building trust and confidence - and increasing the likelihood that those people will continue reading or purchasing from your site.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
I agree. Having a site that is friendly user can really make your customer comfortable making them to get back onto you since they knew that your site is easy to use. I also believe that the site that we created could build a first impression to our customers. That's why creating one that could make them use at ease is also important. Make your contact info easy to find to make them feel like you're just one step beside of them. So that their anxiety or trust issues will gradually lessen by responding to their inquiries fast.

Things that we do are the ones that can sell us or kill us. Thriving to engage and make your clients happy is a good thing.

I have encountered a lot of rude seller or blogger and it really crave in my mind that this seller is someone I will not recommend to my friends nor comeback to her again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, if you are selling something online, you should get the heart of your customers, and be kind all the time.

User friendliness also comes hand in hand with one having some friendly content for all that browse through the site. If anyone wants to find something it needs to be easy and the information ought to be helpful so that they can come back later on

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with your sir stbrians. I also believe that for a site to be successful, you need to be very passionate about it meaning you have to give most of your time for solving issues, promoting your site and developing it to be better from time to time. That is I guess the reason why most online shopping stores have user friendly websites where everything is easy to navigate so that the potential buyers won't find it too complicated to use.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
Exactly. It is the user friendliness that sell a site. Am in bitlanders and J find it hard to log in and navigate. It takes time to load on my phone

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
True. For me, it doesn't matter if a site doesn't look too stylish or whatsoever, as long as I can access it on my phone. I actually searched about bitlanders and it loaded well on my laptop. Guess their website is a bit incompatible on mobile devices and browsers.

Yes this is really true and one of the great strategy that I am using on my blogs. I make an interaction with my visitors on certain things that they didn't know about. I am spending much time on answering all their queries since it is one thing that would make them more active on a certain site that we have. I am trying my best to have smooth and easy interface so that it would looks good and user friendly for them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jayjaydimson
Yes, I definitely agree with you, because of even me, if I don't get attracted by the website I just skipped it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Corzhens
How do you propose what action to make in order to attract more visitors to your site? My take on that is social media. When you have an active social media account with more than a thousand friends in Facebook or a thousand followers in Twitter those are tools at your command that you can wield to invite people to your site. Although the engagement is not sure but at least there will be positive reactions.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'd have content that keeps them connected every now and then. Some people also run the contest on the sites that earns them some sort of money in return. I prefer to have user engagement by content and the comments section. It may work out but depending on how the customers want to engage it won't be that easy. So one has to work with changes in the traffic and offer engagement of those things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Yeah, having a good way to engage them with contents is another way to keep things moving. I always look at this as nice way that you can ensure a good interactions with people. I think that the major thing that also matters is when you are doing the things that shows the love that you have for them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes that's one reason many people connect with each other in comments. So based on what we have seen so far, I think engagement through comments is the best way to understand others. I guess depending on how you see fit, it'd be not that bad to assume that people who connect with users in comments win the most.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I agree with the engagement! I think that with competitions or giveaways, you may get a short-term spike in followers/readers, but I think once the giveaway is done a lot of people end up unfollowing - because they were just ultimately there for the chance of winning something, rather than any real connection to your business.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes I have seen the giveaways from say book authors. They seem to be loving this type of the approach for the connecting with clients. And for them it works out just fine. I can tell you that engagement over small things turns out lot easier and better in that case. I am sure that people who are building business online have to put on more efforts for the same.

Contests are a big engagement on sites. They ensure that people keep coming to your site. I love contests too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Contests if fairly treating users. I am sure they can get more users to read the content and then participate on sites on regular basis. I have seen people having those sort of options in many sites. But it's not that easy either. I guess we just have to see that from experience.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
Contests can work for or against you.

For example if you are offering a ca$h prize for the person who shares your posts most (on social media) and other users feel there is no transparency, they (those who participate in the contest) may lash out in ways that could badly hurt your site.

It's advisable in my opinion never to offer cash prizes for contest winners. Give those who win something else instead - digital products like ebooks could be a better choice.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

overcast
Yes if the contest is not legit. And people are forced to share stuff on social media. They realize that they are being duped. So one has to understand that they are giving the stuff to the right people. I think contest most of the time go on fail. And it does not work in the favor. I would say on that note engagement part takes time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
yeah, that's a really great idea and suggestion. It would attract people, just the word contest will attract people.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Free, contest, giveaway, coupon, discount, sale are the words that tend to attract the users. And another thing is that some of the time such engagement offers a lot more options as well. I have noticed that more contest or regular contest help a lot for the business.

Exactly, those are the keywords. Everyone loves contest and freebies.

Having an active support team in place is a great way to start. To be honest with you, those that visit your website will always want that situation where you are going to answer questions and complaints. This is one way that they can stay active on the site as well.

You are absolutely on point. Giving answers to questions and solving complaints is the best way of engaging visitors and remaining active.

You have made a very good point about one of the most important things which I personally look forward to getting with any participation in any website or forum or blogs.

Once the support is up and running as well as being very responsive, I'm all in for the site. This is the thing that I love most about iconwire Inc now.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
I agree with you. It is important to have active support team.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I think a big part of increasing user engagement is actually interacting with the users, where possible. If it's a blog site and you have a comments section, get in there and start interacting with your commenters - even if it's as simple as thanking them for their comments and for visiting your blog.

That human touch is something I don't think you can put a price on!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I have experienced some odd interactive sessions on some sites particularly from the site owner, whereby it takes more than 24 hours and sometimes 3 days before he finds time to reply messages.

Poor support system doesn't help any site with its users engagement on the site as they would never be comfortable investing their cash on such site.

This is probably the reason why some people hire virtual personal assistants. Their job is to respond to emails and other queries. A fast response is always good because when someone needs help and they don't get it they just might seek it elsewhere and you'd have lost a potential customer because your were unavailable.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
It definitely does make the use of virtual personal assistants seem incredibly value. You can't put a price on fantastic customer service, and often going the extra mile with a speedy response time is something that can set you apart from your competitors.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes I agree with you, it is special that the content maker connects with the reader.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
You can improve your user engagement on your site by being very active in offering new content and trying as much as possible to be in constant conversations with your site visitors. It's from the interactive sessions with them that they would build up confidence in your business and most likely patronize your business products and services.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
Yes it would, but you have to have something special in your site, that other site doesn't have.

I agree with you. Keep it active and at the same time very dynamic. Know your customers well as it will help you improve your marketing plans and strategies. Update every now and then while putting your audience or customers in mind.

I think I would add some type of push notifications. I do notice whenever I opt-in to push notifications on sites such as Youtube I get notifications and sometimes I immediately go to the site to view whatever it is that was posted.

I think this is a very cool thing because the user does not even need to be on your site for them to get notifications. This could also save a ton of emails. I do not know about you but I can a ton of emails daily, and sometimes it is very hard to keep up.

So if you were to opt-in for push notifications you can be up to date with all the happenings on a website. I think this would tremendously improve user interactions and engagement on a site.

Once I figure out how to make the most out of push notifications I am actually going to add it to a couple of my sites.

I've actually been noticing this feature more and more when I sign up to websites - even in the past few months I feel like I've noticed a trend towards this, so it seems like you're right on the money there. It certainly is an easy way to keep subscribers/interested clients updated with the newest info on a site.

This strategy works when I visit someone's site so it would probably work if I did it at my site. I have visited some very well-written blogs. The blog post piques your interest and within the blog post are links to other blog posts at the blog which explains things further. If you get to that first post you will more than likely click the links and keep reviewing the other posts as well. You could spend a good amount of time at that site just going over all the information provided by the publisher.

Another thing to use is the Related Posts Widget. They display at the bottom of each post and they suggest other posts that the visitor might be interested in reading. That can keep a visitor at the site as well.

The visitors may not be leaving comments behind but they are also not leaving your site so quickly.

Make sure you have social sharing buttons to make it easy for them to share with others.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have seen that even google adsense has created ads using the related content widget. They seem to be offering that feature inside the account. I have learned from the experience that such type of the tweaking definitely helps out. And the best part is that the engagement in such case is even better for content.

For me, the best way to have a loyal customer is you should have stay connected to them and treat them as how you would like to be treated. Unlike selling a product through a stall or in person, you would have to gain their trust first because they are talking or transacting with someone they never met, so you really need to win their heart first. Make them feel and know that they could trust you. Also, taking good care of them is also special like when they asked something from you, you should be able to reply to their inquiry with understanding their position. Lastly, offer some freebies, might seem like a spending money, but think of it as an investment for you to win their loyalty.

Very interesting topic. If you are on pinterest you'll realise that it lets you know what your engagement per month is. Engagement is not the same as views. Engagement means people interacting with your site, commenting on your blog clicking any ads you may have. I think improving the content on your website and the visuals is what improves engagement. How your website looks is very important and how is easy it is to navigate.

You can attract a lot of visitors from your website if your website has something that can make the guest entertained at the same time they are in your site.

These are a few ways I think can help to increase user engagement:
  • Publish new content consistently, such as every Tuesday, so the readers will know when to expect new content.
  • Interact with the readers often. I am more likely to comment when the blogger asked a question in the blog post, and I think it's a good way to engage with readers.
  • Offer freebies or good deals often, so readers will like to check out the website more often.
  • Host challenges, for example 30 day challenge, so the readers will follow the site everyday hopefully.
  • Have referral program. This will allow the readers to earn some commission and they will help promoting the products and bring more readers to the site as well.

This is where on-site optimization is useful. Make sure that your site is fast loading because if it takes a long time to load visitors would just leave. Also make it mobile friendly because nowadays mobile users outnumber PC users and making it mobile friendly would ensure the continuous flow of traffic from mobile users to your site. Giving mobile/smartphone users a good mobile experience is in your best interest and should be done immediately.

An effective tactic that a lot of bloggers and content creators use is to host contests/competitions or giveaways. A lot of YouTubers use this strategy in order to increase community engagement and content sharing.

They’ll offer a special item up for grabs, and then include certain stipulations in order to be eligible for winning the item. Usually they do something like pose a question and ask the viewers to comment and share the video, and then they’re entered to win a prize.

A lot of professionals recommend this as a great way of increasing community engagement and activity.

You just have to think that in every content that you produce, you have the readers in mind. Think of what they want to find out on your site. They always want something that helps them. Make sure that your site is informative and very helpful to the readers. Put them on your top priority and everything follows.

I think creating a good content is a very good strategy to to have more visitors and followers to a certain site. It is very helpful since they would be coming every time that we will post some interesting articles out there. We really need to provide quality content so that we will have a greater earnings from our blogs or website.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This reminds me of my blogging days when I was submitting articles as a co-blogger. My blogger would always tell me to monitor my blogs so that I could always reply to any comment. He said that a reply to a comment is greatly appreciated and the poster of that comment would be encouraged to post more comments. For the readers to join the discussion, what I usually ask is their opinion on some topics like what would they do if they were in a particular situation.

First, make sure you don't have anything that's guaranteed to drive away users. Keep your site clean, organized, and free from big, annoying ads and pop-ups, and make your content concise and straightforward. Then, focus on making your site engaging. Include relevant photos and videos that you think might be interesting to your audience. Make sure your important links are easily accessible, so your customers don't get annoyed trying to navigate your site.
