Some people I think would go into the business not equipped with the knowledge and opted to just learn in the process. Or they may have been into a business but they will then realize that online marketing is a different playing field. It's pretty obvious why you have to be active in social media when it comes to online marketing because this where you can reach a wider online community. I also like the analogy used in the article regarding the online world as the ocean and you as the little boat. You can't go against the tides or you'll tip over. Yes I agree, online marketing requires you to be active on social media. Just make sure the the posts are catchy and true. Avoid making exagerations and do not deceive customers. I also think that it is a must not to downgrade other business just to get customers.

I have a friend who has her offline business for a long time. When she created an online site for her business, she continued with her ways in doing business in the offline world.
