Whenever I talk to online companies who are struggling, I usually tell them to look at things from a different angle and stop following in the footsteps of other companies just like theirs. You'd be amazed at how much money you could make when you think outside the box just a little bit. Most of the companies that I'm talking to will never think about talking to offline businesses and help to bring them digital sales, take a commission, and build their business relationship with each other.
I have a few deals like this in the works, and I don't make enough money to retire from this little trick, but it does pay some bills and that's all I need it to do lol You could do the same little things like this and find 50 offline businesses to generate sales for then retire in 10 years because you're making a ton of money on autopilot, but you still need to monitor and track everything to be sure you're getting paid for the exact amount of leads and sales you're generating.
You're not an affiliate
You need to understand that you're not an affiliate when you do this, you're more of a specialist that is helping build a company, and you're more of a partner than an affiliate or basic employee.
You're getting a commission, just like an affiliate would, but you're running websites like they're your own and sending sales to the bank account of the business you're working with. You're not sending people through a link that will be tracked, you're collecting payments and running customer service online for these companies and that means you're actually the offline business in a digital world
Find companies run by older people
You could probably do something like this for a younger person, but they will likely have the support, skills, and knowledge to do it themselves and they will likely pay someone a few dollars to try and do what you do.
I say to target older people because they tend to be less tech-savvy and that means they likely won't have a website up and running in order to capture digital sales. You can partner up with them, set up a few websites, funnel sales into their business account, and get paid X% or XX% from each successful sale they acquire.
Older people are more trusting when it comes to something they don't understand, and if you're an honest person they will let you help them online. They will likely have someone else talk to you, someone who is more tech-savvy, in order to see what your intention are but that's pretty common. I actually have a few elderly people who run a brick and mortar type business who I help, and that's how I got the idea for this method. I offered to help them get online in order to make a few extra sales and they offered me a percentage of the sale if I just managed all their online stuff, which is what I do and I get paid bi-weekly for my help
Find a niche that isn't difficult to dominate online
A lot of the times you might find a company who is solely offline, but their online competition is pretty difficult, so you'll want to avoid those companies for now. Put those businesses in a folder that you can go back to, but don't start off with them because it takes more time and money to help them, which is not something you want to do if you're just starting this.
If you can find a company that is in a less competitive niche and you think you can dominate online for them, approach the business owners and let them know what you can do for them.
If there are 10 companies within driving distance, who sell to local foot traffic, you can get multiple clients who all need the same work done If all of these businesses are run by elderly people, you will have hit a gold mine lol. Just approach with caution, don't seem too eager, don't be cocky, and don't be cocky when talking to them because you can turn people off pretty quickly. If you've already done this in the past, show the people what you've done for other companies in a different industry, and they will likely sign up for your help online.
Set up conversion tracking to know what you should be paid
Since you're in charge of everything online, and just sending them the sales, you'll be able to track absolutely everything. You will be able to track all of your traffic, analyze the best sources, know what ads are bringing in the most sales, and adding massive amounts of content to your websites in order to pull in search traffic.
You're running these websites like they're for your own business and if you're not monitoring all of the sales, you're just working for free, and that's not something we ever want to do. Yes, you're helping people make more money, but you should be paid for your efforts. And you should always be paid when you're only getting money from them when you generate a sale
In conclusion
If you can do everything I talked about above, you can get a few businesses up and running online and making extra revenue. The business owners will be ecstatic, they will tell their friends, and you will get plenty of referrals that want to sign up with you before you ever talk to them Remember, if you're working with older people, they likely know younger business owners or their kids do, and that means you're getting genuine referrals from a matriarch or patriarch of the family, and that's one of the strongest referrals out there.
