5 reasons you shouldn't be spending money on internet marketing classes and courses

In the past, you couldn't go to take classes to learn internet marketing or anything close to that.  You could get a degree in marketing, but from what some of my colleagues have told me, those courses cover nothing related to internet marketing and they were in a new ball game when they started learning on their own.  Sure, they understood the basic terminology and knew how to run a business, but they couldn't tell you what a dofollow link was or how to get a guest blogging post live on your first shot!

Marketing and internet marketing, although they have a similar goal, are very different from one another.  Internet marketing and SEO have to be blended seamlessly in order to have the biggest effect.  With marketing, you don't get an added benefit from adding your keywords in the text of a billboard, which is why it's so much different.  Your actions online carry over for years to come, and that's one reason online marketing needs to be done right the first time because if you screw it up early on it will haunt you forever.

In this discussion, I'll be going over a few reasons why you don't need to be spending money on internet marketing classes or courses, and they are:

They teach you the basics
Unless you're going for your masters in internet marketing, you're just going to be spending $30,000+ to learn the basics.  How often have you gone to your own website, optimized the titles and descriptions and then monitored your rankings within all the major search engines in order to see if your actions have worked or if you need to keep pushing?  Well, that's pretty much what you'll learn if you pay for these types of courses.

You can learn everything online for free
The movie "Good Will Hunting" is a good example that you can get a Harvard education for the price of a late fee on a book at the library.  You just need to go out and read what you need to know in order to educate yourself.  You may not get a fancy piece of paper at the end of the year saying you passed and now you're certified, but you will have saved a massive amount of money that can be better used for PPC or branding campaigns.

Think about it, you're spending all this money to learn internet marketing and you could have been a millionaire if you just went on your own to learn it.  You could have used that tuition or internet marketing courses money in order to get a profitable website up and running before you even graduated.

Many of us are self-taught, but the newer generations getting into internet marketing are getting tricked into thinking they need these class or courses, which is ridiculous because you can just browse a forum and learn everything you need to know in order to have a profitable website up and running or help build up a clients site.

Most of the teachers aren't very experienced
Since internet marketing courses aren't very old, the people teaching them tend to be younger, which usually means they don't have much experience.  The people who do have all the experience tend to be the ones turning down these teaching opportunities because they already have plenty of websites that are profitable and they don't need another workload.

In 1 month you can learn the entire curriculum for the year
If you were to get all of your books, cram for countless hours, and still manage to graduate from these classes or courses you'd still be behind the people who taught themselves.  This is because if you were to do all that, you would still have to wait for all of the big tests to come up and eventually you'll need to graduate.  The person teaching themselves will learn your entire year within a month, then be profitable because they're ranking clients websites as well as their own, and now they don't have any school debt.

In conclusion
We're taught that we need to go to college, learn a lot of stuff, specialize in something, get a job, and eventually die.  With internet marketing you can teach yourself as you make money, which is sort of like a trade, and you don't have to rack up any sort of tuition bills that impact your credit scores 5 reasons you shouldn  You'll have plenty of money flowing, be building a business, and your friends are now racking up debt that they'll be paying off until they're 50 years old.

In my perspective, I will not spend money on internet marketing classes and courses as well. I am the type of learner who learns better from a real person. Also, I think your opinions are right. You can learn without spending money. Just learn how to utilize search engines like Google so that you can gather more data.

I have long stopped spending money to learn anything I can learn on the internet. All you have to do is be good at researching, and you can find even more than what you're initially looking for. You can actually spend your money growing your business instead of giving it away to people that won't really be that much of a help.

As what I had read in another discussion, the internet is rife with information that you can learn almost anything by just doing a simple search. Right now I am learning SEO methods from this site and so far I can say that I am learning almost anything although I still have a confused feeling with the backlink methods and the black hat and gray hat methods of off-page optimization.

I will agree with "you don't have to spend money to learn online marketing". Yes because there are lots of videos online who offer free tutorials on online marketing. It's not about the degree you are holding, but the passion and enthusiasm to learn by yourself. People who are like this tend to be more successful than others.
But one thing I noticed, there are also graduates who are successful with whatever field of studies they take. Yes it is great to know people who succeed even without having a degree. But, we can't take the fact that it is more helpful and better if someone is a degree holder. I mean, at least he/she will have more choices to take when the other fails.
I will use myself as an example, I am degree holder, I am a licenced teacher but that doesn't mean I am a failure because I am here instead of continuing my Profession. I am here because this is what I love to do, this is where I am happy. But if everything fails, atleast I know I still have more options to take.

I have tried a lot of internet marketing courses. And they mostly teach very basics which should not cost you more than youtube video. And they spread it on high cost. I don't think that's value. People should not charge like say 999 or more or so for such type of the knowledge. I think this is one reason I think internet marketing courses are waste of money and time. That's what I have realized.

I think sometimes people tend to like being told what to do even if they would have to spend a great deal for something they could easily learn if they just spent some time googling.

I'm looking at learning everything that has to do with internet marketing by getting into a course, but I have come to notice that all that I desire is to focus on the good things which I desire to do. Doing research about the things that should be learnt is necessary as it is going to afford me the needed time to get everything working out at the end of the day. It may not be easy, but it is something that is possible to achieve.

The only thing that the so-called online marketing teachers have done is compiling whatever you will spend hours looking for. Most of them have nothing extra to offer, apart from gathering the information together.

I have a learned alot from watching youtube video. The main thing I learned is that free marketing like safelists and traffic exchanges really don't work good. They might work for some things but for the most part they don't work. Also I learned that youtube is a good way to get your product out there. I learned you can also make money off of youtube. I didn't know that. I have learned alot but I have alot more to learn.

I studied marketing in my university program. sadly, the marketing course did not cover internet marketing. It said nothing about social media marketing, search engine marketing, and seo. Later I joined a writing course. The course had lessons on all kinds of writing, including writing for radio and television and writing ads for paper, radio, and television, however, this course also did not tell me about online marketing.
I learned online marketing when I enrolled for online writing and publishing course on Hubpages. Later, I began studying more about digital marketing. I also believe that there is no need to spend a lot of money on marketing courses.

I have attended online courses for operations and management some years back. They were paid courses that were sponsored by our company. I’d say that you can learn those things that were taken up in those paid courses. However, the method of those paid courses can motivate the student and the lesson plan has a good pacing. It is not like just reading to gain knowledge. It is really learning in the traditional method.

You have a point but I don't know if I agree with you completely. For a beginner this makes sense, you can learn most of the stuff you need to get started online. However this takes time and you may get confused. There is no structure to what you are learning and you have to get your material from different sources. For example you can learn about how to perform keyword research, but you need to watch videos or read articles from around 3 people to get the comprehensive story. I think as you grow you should take a couple of courses. Look for reviews online and pick the ones that will be most helpful to you.

Well, I agree with you complete these classes are essentially a waste of your money. They will teach you the basics that you can learn very easily when you are online. google and youtube can be your best sources of gaining any kind of knowledge that is offered by these mediocre gang of the so-called teachers. Even if you are able to learn some theory after joining these classes you will have to be able to practice it online on your own, then why not do it on your own from the beginning without wasting your money

This is one thing I realized. I bought a writing training course and the content was useless. In addition, the teacher kept of referring to the internet, Since then, I decided that I will never spend on internet marketing classes.

Thanks to the site https://edureviewer.com/courses/edureka-review/, my life has changed. There I learned that you should always improve your knowledge and be more versatile. There I found an organization capable of helping me with this. It's good that there are review sites that have removed unnecessary companies from my list.

I don't mind paying the student loan. I have to return 23k of British pounds. I understood that I would need to return this amount of money after finishing university, so I remained to work in England after graduation. The amount of money you pay monthly depends on your salary. For example, I have a well-paid job, and I need to spend a minimum of three hundred pounds a month. In such steps, I will pay off the debts in thirty years. But I pay the maximum amount of money monthly because I want to get rid of this debt faster.
