Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
I've written up various discussions that talked about how you can be a consultant and make a great deal of money. The only thing that holds people back from doing this is that it takes a great deal of work to do it right and be successful. Sure, there are plenty of consultants out there that fail, mainly because they didn't realize they'd be working 60+ hours a week, which is one of the reasons I thought of this free consulting system you can use to make money!
I'm sure you're saying to yourself, or yelling at me, "How the hell do you make money when offering a free consulting service!?!?!?!?!". The answer to that is simple... Affiliate Marketing!
You need to know what you're doing, this isn't something you can BS your way through, mainly because you will be getting contacted in real time and need to know the answers to a persons problems right then and there in order for them to trust you enough to click through a link you give them lol.
How can you be a free consultant and profit?
As I said above, affiliate marketing paired up with free consulting is what this discussion is all about. You'll help people out for free and give them links to services or products that you vouch for, which these people will likely buy because they now trust you, and you'll make a commission on the sale. If you decide to go into the SEO consulting area, you can always refer people to Seocheckout and make a nice commission on every purchase they make
One of the beautiful things about this is you can refer people to a product or service that is a little above the average price range and they will buy it because they've begun to trust you and know you're leading them down the right path. Of course, you'll need to know what you're referring them to and have used it yourself before you can know if it's a good service or product. You use before you refer because you want to know people are going to have a great time before you send them there, this will reduce chargebacks and returns, which boosts your sales
How to find potential clients
People love free stuff, especially the ones on a limited budget, and this is why they will gravitate towards you since you're not charging them I like using Facebook ads as well as adwords and Bingads to bring people in for my consulting service. Facebook is more preferred for this due to the business page app I can use and talk directly with people via chat, I also use tawk.to on my website and that goes right to my phone as well.
I will run a PPC campaign, bid low to see where I can get my ads to land, then boost them up slightly in order to see where the optimal CPC is for my budget. Once I find the optimum CPC, I let it sit there for a few weeks until my CPC starts to drop naturally and my relevancy starts to increase. Over time, I'll be paying around 30% less than when I started and getting more clients coming in each week
Should you tell them how you make money?
YES! If you don't tell these people how you make money, you might actually get banned from the affiliate program you're using. If you're using ShareASale or any other marketplace like that, you need to publish something on every page where you have a link that says you may make a commission on any sale that is made after clicking a link.
Most affiliate programs don't want to think their affiliates are tricking the customers into clicking. This is why you need to publicly say you're making money through sales, but it's not coming out of their own pocket You need to explain that you're making money from the companies that you refer them to, and you only refer companies that you've used over the years and trust yourself, which will almost always boost your sales because if someone intended to purchase the service or product from all of the free advice you've given them, they'll want to make sure you're getting something in return.
Does this work in any niche?
Of course! The only reason it wouldn't work in any niche out there is if the affiliate programs within the niche aren't top notch. Shareasale and Clickbank may not have something you're looking for, but individual websites might have their own programs that could work for you. It's up to you to figure out what the best programs, services, and products are to promote and make money off of from referrals. If you don't have any of this before you start out your free consulting service, you'll set yourself back and that's never a good thing.
Know what you're going to promote, know it's a good thing to push, and your referrals will buy it if you give them all the information you can
In conclusion
Not many people are doing free consulting out there, mainly because it does take a decent amount of work, but there are ways to automate websites and push referrals through you links without taking advantage of them. Take your time researching your niche and figure out what's the best thing to promote, or the best 10 things to promote, then set up your website and start promoting on Facebook with a PPC ad. Get super targeted and be very responsive to anyone that contacts you. Be sure to give them a massive amount of advice and always ask THEM questions. Don't wait for them to ask you, they might not know what to ask, and this is why free consulting could be a big thing in the coming years for affiliate marketing
