A micro niche website is a site dedicated to a very small niche that doesn't get many searches each month. A lot of experienced webmasters will target these types of niches because they can quickly, and easily, rank their websites on the first page of Google for their main keywords. This means that they can get some revenue generated quicker than bigger authority websites they have, which is always a great thing since you don't have to constantly update the websites, due to it being a low competition niche
Micro niche websites are great if you have the time to build them up and add plenty of content to them in order to bring in the traffic. Sure, you won't need a massively high domain authority, or any other high metric, to boost your rankings to #1. However, you will still need to treat these micro niche websites like they are your bread and butter, which means you will need to do everything you would as if they were your main revenue generating website.
In this discussion I'll be going over how you can cash in on micron niche websites in niches that aren't targeted too much.
Set up and optimize for the search engines
This is pretty obvious, since you'll be relying on search engine traffic to generate revenue, but you'd be amazed at how many people forget to do this lol. You'll need to do your on page optimization as well as your off page optimization if you want to have a chance at the top of the rankings. You don't have to do as much as if you were in a difficult niche, but you'll still need to do something to get on the radar of Google lol
Optimize all of your pages, add plenty of content that is optimized, and do some off page optimization to boost your rankings and start getting some traffic from the search engines. You'll get some sales after you start to rank, and that's always a beautiful thing
Run some PPC campaigns on Facebook
If you're in a low competition niche, you likely won't have any competition in most PPC campaigns. Most low competition niche websites won't invest into PPC because they simply don't make enough to do so. If you put some money into these little websites, they can have a big boost in newsletter sign ups and sales You can quickly become the authority simply from a short PPC campaign, which is unheard of in more difficult niches lol.
Build up a small community on social networks
You can quickly build up small communities on platforms like Facebook and Instagram since your posts will be found easier and your PPC campaigns can be targeted to just build instead of send traffic to your website. Communities or pages will be a great source of sales later on when you build it up, and you'll even notice people starting to invite others to join your group or community
Sell your website on Flippa or through a broker
Micro niche websites won't make you a millionaire, but they can be sold for $35,000 or $35,000 a piece. Think about it, if you're investing $350 a month into your PPC campaigns and paid $3500 for content and another $450 for anything else you could possibly need, you'll have invested $4,000 after just 12 months. If you're making $450 a month from the website, that's $3,600 profit for not doing much. Now, micro niche websites can make $3,000 and sometimes $4,000 a month depending on how well you push it, which means you can invest $4,000 and sell it for $40,000 at the end of the year
Selling a website depends on the buyers and if they're interested in your niche. Most will see your profits and want to get on board simply to run the site and make money, but not everyone. You'll also need to list it a couple times before it sells, this is because not everyone will see it on the first listing and that means the right buyer might not see it until the 3rd or 4th listing
In conclusion
Micro niche websites were huge about 5 years ago but faded away when people started getting into authority websites that have a bigger pull from the search engines. There are still plenty of people out there making money from micro niche websites, but there aren't as many people selling their methods, so you'll need to figure out a micro niche on your own most of the time. You can hire someone to find the niche for you, but that means you're basically giving away your niche and keywords, and they person finding the niche could be watching you to see how easy it really is to rank and bank
