Every website owner should focus on these 5 things
Whenever you start off online, you may not know what to focus on, which is actually a pretty common thing. Startups and people just wanting to start a blog won't always know what to do when it comes to a website, which is pretty common because they aren't full time marketers who do this for a living. There are multiple things you will need to focus on when it comes to top rankings, boosting your sales, branding your website and business, having the best products, having the best services, etc. in order to have the best business out there that will hopefully become the authority within your niche.
Many things are needed when you're a website owner trying to boost your business. The next 5 things are just the tip of the iceberg, but they are some of the main things you'll need to focus on to become successful.
Boosting sales through various methods
Bringing in sales and clients will always be a #1 goal of any business, because if you don't have sales you don't have a business, and that's a simple truth. If you think you can be successful without making money, you're likely a person that has plenty of money built up and you don't need to rely on money coming in from your websites to put food on the table. If you're like me, you need to work every day to bring in sales and clients to keep the lights on lol That's why I focus on various sale generating methods, such as:
- PPC Campaigns - Putting ads on Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Quora, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. to target specific people and get them to spend money on your website.
- Banner Ads - Searching through marketplaces like BuySellAds to find niche relevant websites to advertise on without breaking the bank.
- Guest Posts - Posting high quality content on 3rd party websites that are already seen as an authority within the search engines and these sites will help you bring in sales as well as boost your rankings from the backlink placed within the content you wrote up.
- Forum Advertising - You can use paid ads and/or sales threads to bring in clients and boost your sales. You'll have to get targeted, just like your PPC campaigns, in order to have the best ROI for your time invested.
Above are just a few ways to bring in sales, if I were to go over everything, I would be writing a 50,000 word discussion lol
Branding from day 1 of launch
Many companies don't think they need branding right from the start, which isn't true. As soon as your website is live, you need to be branding it in order to be more successful in a shorter amount of time. Most of the time, website owners will focus on branding after they start to make a decent amount of money, but that's not what should be done. Your branding will boost your sales, as well as your search engine rankings, and you can actually be more successful later on if you start branding from day 1
Trying to obtain funding to boost your success
Many people who are getting into websites don't think about getting funding from investors or banks. You can get small loans from a bank, as long as you have good credit, and you can boost your success quicker since you won't have to worry much about bootstrapping your profits to get to the point where you would have started if you have a bank loan. You can also get an investor to come on board and give you money to boost your success, but to do this you will need to have something truly unique and interesting for them to even think about giving you money. If there are plenty of people within your niche or industry, you likely don't have something unique and will get overlooked by investors. Now, if you have something that has competition, but you have a unique approach and it's cutting edge, you might intrigue some investors because they know tech advancements are profitable, no matter the niche
Have the best service or product on the market
If you're getting online to sell a service or product, you will need to be the best at what you do or sell the best product possible. You can't cut corners when it comes to being the best, so don't even think about it! To be the best, you need to beat the best! That means you will need to know your competitors and if you have to, purchase from them to see what they do that makes them so much money, then duplicate it with your own uniqueness on top of it and become the authority
Have the best support system and team ready to answer anything
A lot of people will use a gmail, yahoo mail, or hotmail account to run their business emails through, which I have to tell you is pretty unprofessional. There are actually commercials that show poeple giving out their emails, and the client second guesses them because it doesn't sound like they're an actual business. To provide the best support system possible, you need to use a ticket system and/or a live chat system to get questions in one location and have them easy to answer. You can have VAs (virtual assistants) answer all the tickets that come in, and you can even hire some people from the Philippines who know English very well
In conclusion
Running a company isn't an easy thing to do, especially if it's a digital business like what a lot of us do. You will need to do various things like boost sales, keep the peace between customers and employees, make sure your team works well together, branding, and much more! It's not easy, no one will help you become rich, and you will get burned out if you do all the work yourself. Bring on a team to answer tickets or freelancers to help you with coding or other parts of your business that needs attention that someone off the street couldn't do because it takes a little bit of specialization to figure out and fix of do in general
