Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
In the world of website marketing, the websites that can keep things from getting boring tend to be the ones that live the longest and get the most attention. You can do various things, such as: adding fresh content daily, having a fun atmosphere so people engage with you more, sending out great newsletters to pull people back in, having seasonal discounts and offers to keep people on their toes when it comes to save money, and many more!
A boring website might make a sale here and there, but they will never be the king of the industry like all of us try to become. Sure, you can set up some PPC ads and write up a few articles, but you'll never keep people intrigued about what your next post or service is unless you keep it from getting boring, and keep it fun! In this discussion I'll be going over how you can keep your best websites from getting boring, because that's a business killer. You will want to do various things, such as:
Always update with fresh content
People see adding great content to your website as a way to boost your search engine rankings because you can target more keywords with your targeting. Another reason unique content is great is because it's fresh and people want to read something they've never come across. Think about it, if you were to start reading something about a niche or industry, and you've never read anything like it before, you'd likely remember that website and come back time and time again to see what was going on. You'd likely check for facts when reading this content, and if you find people talking about little details of the entire article, you will then see them the main website as a source of great information, and you'll come back later on to see what new blog posts have been published, I know I do lol
Fresh content keeps your website from getting boring because the longer you're blogging, the more content you eventually accumulate, and the more content a person can sift through. If they get to the same article 3 or 4 times, they will see your site as pretty boring, and they will not come back.
Be fun and people will engage with you
If you have a fun personality, you need to show it through your design and content, then people will begin to engage with you on social media and even on your blog. People will want to talk with someone that is easy going and fun, so if you can portray yourself as that, you can usually keep your pages active and that means more money in the long run
A boring website will be one that has the comments of blog posts shut off, mainly because they don't want to talk to anyone, which gets the readers to also shut down on the website and not want to come back. Let them speak! Don't be afraid of what they're going to say, you never know where their words can take you
Send out great newsletters to pull people back in
If you're already doing the above points, and killing it, You can start sending out newsletters to bring people back into your content and get them to engage a second or third time People who sign up for your newsletters want to hear from you, they aren't signing up to them because they want you to send them something once a year, so take advantage of their willingness to get emails and send them updates!
Of course, you can't really abuse their trust in your newsletters, so don't send them 10 emails a week. If you start to just spam them with every new blog post you make, they will unsubscribe, and that's never a good thing for list growth lol.
Set up seasonal discounts and offers
This is actually one of the best ways to keep your website from getting boring, because people will see your new promotion or discount and see it as a fun little thing you come up with during the holidays. You can do this for literally any holiday, and you can even geo target your drop down notices so certain holidays only show in specific regions of the world that celebrate that specific holiday.
You can keep it fun with the images and wording on the seasonal discounts, which will be taken as a fun little thing you didn't have to do. People won't always sign up with you, but you will keep them coming back and then they will also share your new promos
Adding a custom 404 page
When I first started doing this, it was more fun for me because I was creating a bunch of things that I loved, but I finally settled on one 404 page and use it for a lot of my websites. Ok, I'll tell you what it was because I'm excited to talk about it lol. If you ever played Zelda, you know who Link is, and you might know where I'm going with this already lol. Well, Link was the main character in Zelda (yeah, his name wasn't Zelda) and I had an image of him dead on my 404 page, which said "Dead Link". Get it? GET IT!?!?!?! A 404 page usually pops up because you clicked on a dead link lololol
Ok, now back down to earth lol. Custom 404 pages will make people feel like they found a page that not many people land on, because they don't usually, and you'll be creating a custom experience for the user who enjoys the custom page to a common 404 page that says it's an error. Try it out and let me know what you come up with
In conclusion
There are dozens, maybe hundreds, of ways to keep your website from getting boring and I suggest you try out at lease a few. If your website is deemed "boring" you will see your traffic start to fall off and that's never a good thing for sales. If you rely on your traffic, you will want to keep them engaging with all of your amazing content, so give them a way to engage with you and don't shut off your comments on your blog posts or social media pages If you can do all of this, you should be able to build up your website better than your competitors who likely aren't doing even a single one of these
