Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
When you start blogging, it's usually because you've just read something about how it's one of the best ways to bring in traffic through increased rankings, but what you didn't know is how to actually get started. Usually, bloggers will jump on a hosting account, with a premium or free theme, and get to posting content but quickly get upset because they aren't getting rich. Well, I'm here to break some bad news to you, but getting rich overnight from blogging just doesn't happen unless you already have an email list of 100,000+ that you didn't scrape together lol.
There are many moving parts in a blog, it's not just content on a page, you have to run it like a full fledged website in order to get the best out of it. If you're posting content, and expecting to simply make money from it without nurturing your pages, you're in for a rude awakening. You need to be there for all the visitors who decide to comment on your pages, for any errors that happen with your content or pages, for basically anything that happens on your website that is good or bad. If you're not there, you won't last long in the blogging industry, it's sad but true.
Below I'll be going over 4 reasons why your blogging ins't working like you had planned, and those reasons are:
Your content isn't good at all
A lot of new bloggers aren't very good at writing, unless they have a previous background in journalism or have a similar degree, and this is because they just don't' know what to write or how to write it. Knowing what to write is the first battle that bloggers come to deal with, but knowing how to write is an even bigger struggle to new bloggers because people need to have at least a 9th grade level of content in order to relate to it. If you write at a lower grade level, you'll lose people because they just can't picture what you're writing since it sounds like a child is blogging. If you're far above a 9th grade level, you'll likely lose the masses who don't understand half of the jargon you're typing up, so don't expect to convert too many people into sales if your grammar is far above average. Yes, if you're too smart you will actually hurt your own profits lol.
Your blogs design looks like it's from the 90s
People want to feel like they are on the newest website or blog out there, so give them a nice looking design so they will love your pages more. A lot of people may write amazing content, but if you're on a basic and free theme, you won't have people remembering what your website is and they likely won't sign up for your newsletter. Getting newsletter sign ups directly correlates with a good capture form, as well as a great design, and that is because people will not want to sign up to a newsletter if they think it's just a website or blog that will spam them day in and day out.
Your posts aren't optimized for the search engines
A lot of new bloggers won't understand how to optimize their content, which is one of the main reasons they don't rank well for their keywords, and now they're not getting a bunch of traffic like the eBooks said they would lol Optimizing your published content is more than going through your keyword density, you need to edit your titles as well as your descriptions prior to going live if you want to see the best results within the search results.
If you're on WordPress, you can download a great SEO plugin called Yoast, and it will show up on each post you make. It won't show up on your blog, it will show on your dashboard, and you can edit all of your information to optimize it for the search engines and hopefully get some additional traffic afterward because now the search engines know exactly how to index your new pages
You don't have related posts showing on every page
This is more of an advanced tactic to get people to continuously browse your blog, and most themes come with this pre programmed into the code, but you'd be amazed at how many people don't focus on this. Think about it, how often do you think people would come to your website and want to read more than one article if they enjoyed the first? Almost all of your happy visitors would read 2 or 3 articles that you've written, but if they have to actually search for them on their own, you might lose them. People don't actually want to search for something they want to read, after they just read what they were targeting, so you need to show them your most recent or related posts. You can do this with a simple plugin or hard code it into your pages, which is much more difficult so I urge you to just use the plugin lol.
People will click through to more of your blog posts, which reduces your bounce rate and increases your chances of capturing an email or making a sale. So why wouldn't you be using this feature? lol
In conclusion
Blogging is easy and difficult at the same time. You need to know what you're doing before the search engines will send you a bunch of traffic, you need to know how to increase your page views, you need to know how to write content that increases engagement, and you definitely need a decent looking design if you want to be taken as a professional. If you can do all of the above, you can become an authority within your industry and begin to get traffic from keywords you would have never thought about targeting lol

I really like the feature of related posts, as it helps me to find out more information that I am interested in. I always fall into this trap as I keep digging more and more from the blog because of this feature. I really need to learn more about optimization when I am going to set up my blog. Thank you for recommending the Wordpress plugin, as I am planning to work on Wordpress theme soon. These are something we really should avoid if we want to set up a blog or are already running one. Though we know content is the most important ingredient for a blog, I agree that the web design influences me whether to stay or to leave the blog. I might not be really enjoy visiting the blog, even though I like what the bloggers write. It would be better to have a nice web design even if the writing is already great.
