Why not all website niches are created equal

Whenever a newbie webmaster starts putting up websites, they might think each niche is created equal, but in reality they're not.  There are many factors that go into if a niche is difficult or easy, but in the end it all depends on the popularity around it.  Think about it, if you're getting into websites and you put up a business credit website, you're going to quickly realize that it's difficult to get clients, but if you do crack into the industry you'll make a decent amount of money.  On the other hand, if you put up a website revolving around competitive basket weaving, it'll be easy to crack into the industry but it will be difficult to make money because there are nearly as many people looking for that compared to business credit.

Not every niche is created equal because of the popularity behind them.  Think about it, if the popular kid in school invited you to hang out, you'd of course accept their invitation.  If the creepy kid that might smell bad invited you to hang out, you'd likely turn them down because you just don't want to be around that.  Well, website niches are the same as high school popularity, as in the more popular ones are enticing and the smelly less popular ones don't have as many friends.  At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what niche you're trying to crack into, they all have their pros and cons, but I actually prefer the smelly ones because I can be more successful with 10 of them than I could with 1 popular one Why not all website niches are created equal

In this discussion I'll be going over 4 reasons not every niche is created equal, and those reasons are:

Ranking difficulties
The more money an industry makes, the more difficult it usually is to rank within it.  That is because these companies can hire entire teams of SEO professionals and pay them top dollar while giving them a massive budget to get the job done well and boost their rankings for everything.  This means you will have to battle entire SEO teams in hopes of achieving top rankings within the search engines, which likely won't happen anytime soon if it does at all Why not all website niches are created equal

Think about it, if a company is making $25,000,000 a year and investing $750,000 into an SEO team, do you think you could battle 5 to 10 professionals who focus on SEO day in and day out?  Probably not Why not all website niches are created equal

PPC difficulties
This is one of the things that kills businesses all the time.  They basically get outbid by the companies that can afford to lose money to acquire a client, which isn't most of us here.  These big corporations can pay the max per click to bring in a client compared to what the majority of us can afford.

I was recently looking up "content writing" bids on Adwords, Facebook, and other platforms to figure out a budget for my new website coming out, and the prices were insane.  I was thinking that I could run my campaign at around $25 or $70 a day to get a judge on how much traffic I could get and obtain some sales while doing it, then I'd bump up my CPC and maybe my daily budget to get the ball rolling even more.  I quickly hit a wall when I found out that some of my main keywords would cost me $25 to $70 per click if I wanted to be #1 Why not all website niches are created equal

Now, the top keyword bid didn't scare me off too much, because I know the quality of my work and I know I can keep clients coming back time and time again.  The downside of this is that I likely wouldn't profit from the clients first order, which would have to be over $250 for me to break even.  I quickly understood why one of my competitors were selling a 500 word article for $210 lol Why not all website niches are created equal

Flooded industries
Every niche has a some attention, but some are flooded with websites all wanting top rankings, while others only have a few websites fighting for the #1 position.  Flooded industries are usually around trending products or services, and everyone putting up quick websites to cash in on the fad that is going on.  Think about it, we didn't know about hover boards of fidget spinners 5+ years ago, but now they're everywhere!

People put up thousands of websites and were doing SEO for each and every one of them, trying to get top positions to make some sales.  The CPC sky rocketed because people were paying whatever was needed in order to make a sale and profit.  I know of a company that was selling hover boards a few years ago and they were paying $70 a click, but they were selling an exponential amount of boards each day and profiting like $60 per sale.  Now, they were selling these boards at $600 which means they spent around $560 to get a $60 profit, which is insane!

I try to avoid flooded industries because the competition and price per click is ridiculous.  I could invest my time elsewhere and make just as much money as these people who are spending $560 to profit $60 lol Why not all website niches are created equal  And it would be less stressful!

Making money difficulties
Niches that have a lot of competition basically mean you won't profit anytime soon, if at all.  Niches with little to no competition mean you won't make much money, but you could make some quicker than the more difficult niches.  A lot of people target these difficult niches because they have the idea that when they rank, they will stay there and make millions overnight, which isn't the case.  You'll have to constantly be doing work, putting in more money to expand and be the best within your niche before people start to flood to you.  Sure, more difficult niches will payout more if you ever rank, but there's no guarantee that will happen.  This is why a lot of people will set up 10+ websites in small niches because they know they will make less per website, but as a whole they will make almost as much as a difficult niche and have to put in less time and effort to actually do so.

In conclusion
No niche is equal because you will always have different targets, demographics, difficulties, etc.  If you're targeting a difficult niche, you could make more money, but it will take much longer to do so.  If you're targeting an easy niche, you will make less money each month, but it will be easier to profit in a short amount of time.  In the end, it's really up to you and what you want to target.  I always tell people to start blogging prior to investing their time into a niche, just to see how it goes Why not all website niches are created equal  So do that and figure out if your niche is worth it to you Why not all website niches are created equal

I think the spam and the attention for the user is also different for each niche. And on that point I think website niches are not created equal. And we have to understand that some of the time PPC niches are inflated too. For example some of the time niche can be high. Like finance niche. And you can notice that it is more of because of the bid price in the market.

When it comes to equality, I don’t think there is equality in this world, so to speak. It’s not only in the website and niche that have inequality but in almost all things. When they say gender equality I don’t think there is a logic to that since genders are not the same so why make it equal? Niches are also a variety with their own different identity and we cannot call them equal.

Yes equality is always going to be fake. Left hand can't be equal to right. So expecting we all can be equal is another mirage. Gender equality was a communist project to get back into power. We all know it didn't work in china. So the niche can't be equal either. Some are good paying and some are not much so.

It's such a competitive world. Sometimes after reading some business articles, I always asked myself if I am suitable to join this competition, as I am not competitive enough. I have read about niches, I think those who can find unique niches are great, but if I can't crack my head to come up with one, I should just start and offer what I can without thinking too much and at the end, I don't take any action at all. Despite so many difficulties, I agree with just start doing it and we will learn along the way.

You can do well in any niche if you come in with an original idea, a solid plan, and the ability to offer the customer or client something different from your competition. If you're just gonna settle for being another 'clone' though, you will most likely fail sooner rather than later.

Not exactly. Some niche are dead. For example let's say funeral industry. It's very low cost one and also we can't expect people to die for sales. I mean isn't that bad niche? So depending on how profit remains consistent niche can be different in that case for putting on effort.

I can't tell if you're serious or making a joke lol Why not all website niches are created equal

If you're serious, I would think that this is a killer niche to get into. An average funeral costs around $10,000 but that's with everything involved, not just the funeral home, with whom you can partner with Why not all website niches are created equal

I might just call up some funeral homes and see if they are accepting leads for a nice little payment. I would assume that the funeral home gets at least half of what the entire payment is, since someone is technically renting out a room. I wouldn't be sad if they threw me $450 to $1000 to bring in a client.

Yes, it's a sad thing to profit off of, but even funeral homes need leads. I could just run a basic PPC campaign on Adwords since no one will be on Facebook looking for funeral homes to help put their loved one to rest. I could have all the leads go through my own website, and then automatically send out to the funeral home that I'm partnered with. This way I can track all of my leads and know exactly how many times the funeral home is being contacted because of my work.

No I am serious. Check out episode in shark tank about it. They too ridiculed it. And the business of one undertaker didn't took off. They wanted to commercialize on subscription basis per decade for that. It's a bad business and it is really touchy on moral basis. So people don't get into such business with big VC funding.

Well the funeral industry or planning for the deceased has needs that trend more towards eulogies than anything else. People always need a bit of help with those it seems. As well as floral and other arrangements.

When you mention flooded industries, I guess any popular niche is flooded with websites that are in stiff competition with each other. So if your main objective is to be ahead in the ranking game then you might as well look for a rarer niche with lesser competition. And if you are lucky in finding such a niche then you can start writing content intended for a particular sector of readers.

When I decided to launch my blogs and websites, I already knew that not all niches are equal. Some niches made more money and some niches made less. After doing a lot of research I found that finance, travel and health were three niches that made more money. I decided to launch blogs on travel and health niches. sadly, this is not working for me.
Some niches are more lucrative than others do not mean you can also make money on these niches.

You're going to be spending a lot of cash anyway, so I figure - why not splurge? Target the niche you like. I mean, it's kind of like going to an expensive restaurant once a month and buying the cheapest item. Well, the question is, "Why?".
