Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
Whenever someone starts on their content writing journey, they never really think of how casual reading will help them with their work. In fact, reading will expand you mind a lot and help you write quicker and more efficiently while keeping your readers engaged the entire time. Before I started writing, I didn't read many books, because I just didn't have time for it. Now that I'm building up my content writing service more and more each day, I know that reading is more related to market research than wasting my time on it when I could have been working on orders lol.
Since every writer has their own style, they will have different variations to say the same thing. This means you will be able to have various sentences running through your head for the one thing you're trying to say, and you could even mesh them together to make one super sentence
Have you ever noticed that the majority of people who are book worms tend to be more intellectual than others? They may not be as personable, but they tend to be smarter than most people, and it's usually because they're learning as they read. I've been reading books for a while and I didn't realize how much I was actually learning until I was forced into a trivia night at a local bar. I knew most of the answers without having to really think much, and I have to credit that to reading books that I wasn't exactly excited to read
In this discussion, I'll be going over 4 ways reading books will make you a better content writer, and those ways are:
You see how professionals are writing
When you're reading books, you see how the professionals are stringing together sentences and phrasing something to keep you wanting to read. There have been plenty of times that friends have recommended a book to me, and when I started reading it I thought it was boring, but I stuck it out and eventually started to see how to read it. Since every writer has a different method or writing, you need to figure out what it is in order to enjoy what you're reading. Usually they write at a high level, but that shouldn't discourage you from trying to crack open a book and read it
If you can see how the professionals are writing, you can mimic it and even meld it into your own writing style, making your content better and better over time
You develop a larger vocabulary
It's no secret that writers have a much larger vocabulary than the majority of the world. This is because they are constantly researching and implementing what they need to in order to boost their own writing skills. They will read for hours upon hours before they will finish just one page of a book they are writing for themselves, building up their own vocabulary along the way.
Another trick they do is read through the dictionary, yes people actually do this, and they learn a vast amount of words they can use for their next chapter. You can benefit from their hours of work, by just reading what they wrote for the masses It's like a condenses vocabulary lesson that you can use to your advantage when you write your own articles
You understand how to use emotional triggers
Emotional triggers are big when it comes to a book that is in the drama or action niche. Emotional triggers are something a writer uses to evoke emotions from the reader. Movies can do this with words and suggestive music, but a book cannot do this so the writers must know how to get your emotions flowing in order to keep you reading.
One emotional trigger, that a ton of people know about, is a cliff hanger. People always want more, and if you build up the story to an explosive point, then cut it off abruptly, you will evoke a wide array of emotions and that's why a cliff hanger always works They're sometimes really annoying, especially when you spent a lot of money on a book or to go see movie that you expect to end reasonably, and then it doesn't.
Using emotional triggers will keep your readers coming back time and time again, and it will always boost your own writing skills.
You figure out how to keep people interested
This is a big one, you can't be successful if people get to your content and leave almost immediately. By reading, you will see how writers are keeping you interested, and you can use that to your advantage. You will know how to get people staying on your pages and coming back for more when they eventually do leave.
If you can't get anything I've mentioned above to work for you, but you can keep people interested somehow, you'll boost your sales and website traffic. Keeping the attention of someone is difficult, especially online where you have to capture them within the first 10 seconds dof them landing on your page, so if you master this point you won't have to worry about much
In Conclusions
Reading will always help you with content writing because you're essentially researching other writers and how they do things. You will take your own experiences and emotions for the content you're reading and implement it into your own content Over time, you will begin to see people gravitating towards your content and commenting on it as well as sharing it and maybe even paying you for your services or products
