10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

When it comes to boosting your sales, you need to do the work ahead of time in order to see it come to fruition later on.  Plenty of people think they have to do marketing after everything is set up in order to capture a sale, but if you don't put in the work beforehand, you won't capture them if you eventually do get people to your website.  There are plenty of things you can do to your website in order to boost your sales, and a lot of them aren't trade secrets, so you shouldn't have a difficult time doing any of the things I'm going to be covering within this discussion.

Having a great design, writing up content that sells for you, having an amazing product or service, offering a warranty, having an option for people to sign up for your newsletter, and setting up retargeting campaigns in order to bring people back have always been things that people should do with their websites.  What's the most surprising about all of this is that people bypass most of these because they don't see them as important as setting up a PPC campaign to get people in and make a purchase, but it's actually something you should be focusing on after you have all of the following:

An inviting website design
Your website design can't be something you found for free online and just slapped a logo on and then wrote up some content for.  You need to take your time with a website design so people can see you as the authority that you should be.  If you use an inferior design, you will be seen as an inferior company, there's no way around that.  People judge based on first appearance, even if they claim they don't, it's a trait that is wired into us and we can't really bypass it.  This carries over to your design as well, and people will judge your entire business solely based on the first appearance of your homepage, or any page they land on.

If you purchased a premium theme, and set everything up so it's flawless and runs well, you'll be in a much better situation than if you were to put up some free HTML code you found and then edited it slightly to add a couple images.  Think about it, if you were to search up a service or product, came across a crumby looking website and an amazing looking one, you'd likely feel more safe with the better looking site because they would seem more established than the bad looking site.  Even if they both have amazing services or products, the design that looks cheap will make less money every single time.

Content that does the selling for you
When it comes to content that sells for you, we're talking about copy writing, and it's not an easy thing to learn.  A lot of content writers don't even know how to do proper copy writing, but they'll claim they do, and in the end their clients suffer because of it.  I've been copy writing for a long time, and sometimes it carries over into my regular discussions even if I don't mean it to, but it's something you should learn if you want to write up content that sells for you.

Copy writing is worth it's weight in gold, if it had a weight of 1,000lbs, and should always be the first type of content you add to your website.  If your content isn't selling for you, you'll have to invest less time in emails or chats convincing people why you're the best.  Think about it, how many times have you gone to a website and wanted to purchase the service, software, or product simply after reading what it was all about?  I do it often, but then I have to remember the content is written in a way to convince me to purchase lol.  I'll then look up unbiased reviews and make a purchasing decision that way.

By having content that does the selling for you, you will make more money and deal less with customers who are on the fence about purchasing 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

A guaranteed quality service or product
When you put a guarantee on something, people will see it as top of the line, so much that it's backed by the company selling it.  If you guarantee something, you better follow up with all the tasks or features you claimed your service or product to have.  A guarantee isn't the only thing that will boost your sales, but it does help a bit when combined with everything else within this discussion 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

A guarantee is basically you saying that your product or service is amazing and the person reading about it should definitely make a purchase.  If they get the product or service, and it doesn't do what you guaranteed, you won't always have to issue a refund but you will deal with some heat in the form of negative reviews.

An iron clad warranty on your service or product
You'd be surprised how much an iron clad warranty on your product or service will boost your sales.  People will actually pay much more for something that has a lifetime warranty compared to a competitor that only offers a 3 to 5 year warranty.  It's like a security plan just in case something were to go wrong with the product or service, and customers love the added security that you will fix anything that goes wrong.

Usually a limited lifetime warranty is in place because it will cover defects in the product or service, but not human error that ruins the product or service.  Think of it this way, if you purchased a couch with a limited lifetime warranty and someone were to chop it in half, you probably wouldn't get a refund or replacement for free.  Now, if that same couch started to come apart at the seams for no reason, you could contact the company and they would send a replacement to you for free and take the defective couch from you or even let you keep it if you wanted.

Lifetime warranties will sell many more products or services compared to 3+ year warranty.  People want to know they will always have an option to get a new replacement if the current one isn't working how it was intended.

Newsletter sign up fields on your pages
This is a pretty obvious thing to do when running a website, but you'd be surprised at how many people forget about it.  Adding a newsletter sign up to your pages will always get you some people signing up for your latest news, blog posts, added services, new products, etc.

If you don't plan on sending out emails, don't bother collecting emails, because you will just get marked as spam if you do eventually send out an email months after the person signed up.  If you do plan on sending out emails, be sure that you have a signature link in each email you send out, in order to get additional clicks to your website 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

Retargeting on Facebook with discounts
When it comes to getting additional sales, you will always need to work with retargeting, since people who land on your cart or checkout page already had the idea of making a purchase but something told them to abandone their shopping cart.  What you'll need to do is set up a Facebook pixel on your checkout or shopping cart page, then show anyone who landed on that page a very specific ad on Facebook letting them know they can save 10%, 20%, 25%, or even more on their next purchase using whatever code you put in the back-end of your system.  People will see your ad and remember they have something in their cart there, they will them come back and make a purchase using the discount code you provided through retargeting.

Sure, you won't make as much per sale this way, but you wouldn't have made that sale if you didn't give away a discount and show it directly to them on Facebook.  If you were to profit $150 per sale, and the retargetting brought in 10 people for $15 worth of clicks and each of them made a purchase, you just made an additional $1150 because you gave them a 25% discount 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

In conclusion
There are various things you can do in order to boost your own sales, and I've listed plenty of game changers above for you to implement and use, so get to work and start from the top and work your way down 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase  If your content sells for you, you save dozens of hours each month talking to potential clients trying to get the on board.  If you have a great design, people will see you as an authority without doing actual research about you.  If you have a guarantee and warranty, you will always sell more than your competitors that don't have them.  If you're setting up a newsletter capture system and sending out emails, you will keep people coming back to purchase time and time gain.  You will almost always profit from retargetting campaigns after you've set up absolutely everything else and start getting traffic to your website 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase  So, start working on these methods to boost your sales when someone first visits your website, and set u retargeting in order to keep them coming back to boost your sales a second time 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

Yes, think newsletters are tried and true ways to get someone to purchase. I would say this is one of the options you may want to use when you are getting someone to visit and come to your site. It is one of the helpful ways to get people interested in what you have to say.

I think design is the number one factor to influence sales. When the visitor lands on the website, his decision to stay on the website and navigate the pages will primarily be based on the design of the website. A good design means having user-friendly interface, well organized navigation menu. The second important factor is content. If the website does not have a good content, the visitors will immediately leave the site.

Also I wouldn't count out the prospect of retargeting using the social media of Facebook as a marketing tool for sourcing more people to invest in your services. Facebook is a very fertile ground to source for new customers if you know how to get them to patronize you.

I have been placed 8 times payoneer card from payoneer INC but I didn't received any card yet now. Finally I got a solve from a local bank about FB PPC campaign worldwide (Eastern Bank Limited) and now the Bangladeshi freelancers are capable to do PPC. Rest of the dual currency banks are also giving the facilities but for the credit card matter there have huge troubles also. Any time hack or any time lost. I shall try FB boost or PPC option for my website must.

Thanks

I am wondering why you did not mention social media in your ways to boost the readers of your website. Social media is the most fertile place for marketing activities and it is very potent and somewhat effective when you promote your site there instead of in the newspaper and email subscriptions. Maybe if you will be focusing on social media then you wouldn’t even need a good design to attract people.

Having a good designed website is the first step in getting and keeping a visitor to stay and look for more. Now after getting the visitors to stay for a while, it's then up to your available content to influence the visitors decision in patronizing your services. This is why it's stressed a lot to make good high quality content because it's where your power of conviction resides.

Yes, the better your content is, the more likely it is to speak to consumers. It is important to make sure that your content gets across to consumers and makes them feel valued and special. I think it is a great way to get progress with your selling online.

I think influencing visitors is one thing and buying the visitors have it's set of the issues. On that note you can see that influencers have a cost. And they make use of their persona to reach people. Not sure if every influencer can do that. And it won't be that good enough on that note. I think but for getting backlinks and some traffic this can be a good thing. I'd surely try it for the traffic on some sites and the products.

It is important to have a good web design and interface since this is the one thing that will stand out immediately to your customer. Your site has to be easy to navigate and has a good design so that they are more likely to come back to look for other products which they don't even know they wanted to buy. Some people usually go to an online store for only one item and get discouraged to explore the site for other products because of the design of the website and difficulty in navigating it.

Oh yes, I think a good web design is going to get people to stay around and look at what you have to offer. Hopefully, people are so intrigued by your site that they will stay around and make a purchase. Also, you want to make sure your website is easy to navigate and get to the all important purchase button.

It was a good article. Just to add, I think a pre-launch campaign is another effective idea to boost sales. This usually includes write-ups, blogs and reviews.

This is a good idea. And you have to have the timeline to launch it just in time for the people to know your product and got them excited with the grand launching. This grand launching has to be coupled also with freebies and other small takeaways also to boost more of your popularity and sales. Great idea!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
I don't think I have seen online sites do the pre-launch but they definitely have a grand launching day similar to physical stores. Some sites especially those who are just starting do not really shell out a lot of money for launching, although the cost-benefit of such practices may actually increase the sales of the store in the long run.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

AmieBotella
There's one here in my country that also have a physical store that's about to open. All social media ads were directed to their website and pre-launched their store there giving hints of what's in store for them in the upcoming grand opening.

During this time, their website is limited and you can say that it's pre-launched because it gives certain dates on when to come back and check to get freebies and promos. It's actually a good teaser campaign that ignited the customer's interest until its grand launching.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Oh I see, I guess it's effective when you have both a physical and online store, as it's much easier to hype potential customers through pre-launch events. I think it's kind of difficult to pull that off when you only have an online store.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

AmieBotella
Maybe but on the other hand if you think about it, it can be done too. It's just up to the promotions and stuff. You can pre-launch your site and give freebies for the first 100 customers who will log in at the grand launching etc. Something like that too.

But I don't know really, I haven't done it ever. 10 Secrets to Influencing your visitors to purchase

I guess it can be done too, giving the discounts early to generate hype and then putting up more promos for the actual launching, I just haven't seen anyone utilize that strategy.

Yes, I agree with this too. Let people know that you are coming. Make sure that you get the jump on the competition by giving people something specific and special to look forward to, like a new site.

Guaranteed quality is always the number 1 in the priority list of buyers. Especially for consumer products like household items that you regularly buy, the quality is the game changing factor in the competition. Last night, we discovered the sack of rice that we bought had some bugs that may be feeding on the rice. It is not easy to remove the bags from the 10 kilos of rice in the bag. That is low quality and we have already made our minds not to buy that brand again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, quality is still the priority for the buyers. I once tried ordering from an online store some products which looked really nice in the photos, and they even marked the price as discounted from a quite expensive price, and was really disappointed when the product was delivered. I didn't buy from them afterward despite the cheap price and good website design.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

kgord
I agree with you there. People are only going to buy when they feel that quality is there. They may buy once to try out a product but only return when they feel they are getting their money's worth out of a particular product, and you can't blame them for that.

There are some sites which I visited in the past and I have never gone on there again. Firstly, it took ages to load the page and the content was poor. I will never buy something from a website which looks unprofessional. That's the reason I hired an expert to set up my site. Your website design and content are usually the first things that any person will notice first. Many of them will continue to explore your site only if it looks professional to them.

Yes the new updates with the lazy loading. That is something making it harder for people to site viewing quickly. I guess on that note you can see that visitors have to manage. I hope that with AMP this changes and we get good looks on all the sites be it mobile and the desktop.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, first-time viewers stay for good website design and navigation, and then they come back when you also have good product quality. You need to have both in order to ensure a good customer base.

Another one would be Pricing.
A competitive price and having a variety of good payment options should be included.

Having a good design to show to your customers will definitely influence in attracting customers to purchase since many customers considers the look of the site as a criteria on whether to buy or not. It's one way of proving that your enterprise is actually legit and real because you've actually made a huge effort to create a website.

Thanks for the info. It's helps a lot. I think guarantee is something that, what the purchaser is looking for, they need that. And maybe there's should be some good comments or ratings coming from previous purchaser to encourages the visitors to purchase your service or what ever you offer.

I kind of agree with you on the need for a site that is dealing on products sales or services rendered to have a quality copywriter. Someone that can be able to make convincing aritlces for the visitors which will make them make those purchases without blinking an eye on whether it is worth the price or not.

Also, ensuring that the products are genuine is another key factor that should be considered. The reason is because those that buys stuffs from the site will even make recommendations to those they know as long as the product is good. I believe these two factors work hand in hand in ensuring the cusomters and visitors to an e-commerce site are convinced to come back next time to make purchases.

A website and content that sells your product is the number 1 way to influence your visitors to purchase. That's why it's always said that content is KING. Content is the key to the bank in terms of customers purchasing a product. A killer product review on your attractively designed website is bound to attract and keep clients. Many people underrate both and think just putting up a website with products will get sales.

Website design is so important. If I ever visit a website that just looks like very little effort was put into it or if it just looks unprofessional then I will just not bother with it at all. And that is not going to end well because you will not get any visitors that want to purchase your products or services!

Well the article is really great, I learned a lot form those information. I really do agree that offering something new to your clients would help you to gain more clients or visitor to purchase since they are just looking for something to be unique and with a good and excellent customer service. There must be something that other competitors don't have so that you will always stay on the top and ahead for your competitors.

It's incredible how much of our purchasing decisions really comes down to psychology! A good website design always gives me faith in a business, and that often then translates to a purchase if they're selling something I need or want. If I see a badly laid out website, or stuff that looks dated, I lose faith in the business pretty quickly!
