People prefer credit and debit payment options to cash or check because it's extremely convenient. It's quick and you don't have to write anything out or count how much money you're handing over. You simply scan you card and that's it. Offer a credit and debit option and keep your customers happy.
Make sure your customers are comfortable
It doesn't matter if you have a physical store of if you have a website selling something. You need to make your customers comfortable with their visits and this can be done with easy going music and a nice scented candle at a physical store or great looking images and colors on a website.
Other ways to make them feel comfortable with you is to always be responsive if they have a question. You need to respond as soon as possible and answer anything they are asking. Customer support goes a long way in the success of getting your customers to come back without retargeting.
You need to follow up
It doesn't matter how much money you're spending to get a lead to turn into a customer, if you're not following up with them at some point, you can kiss them goodbye. You don't even need to be aggressive about it, you can simply send out a "Thank You" email and follow up with them in a week if they don't respond.
