Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

We all know that writing about movies and TV shows can bring in a decent amount of traffic, but are you actually investing your time in the right areas?  Sure, you can write about 100 different TV shows, but would your time be better invested in writing about each individual episode and giving your own review?  Probably!  Netflix is one of the biggest video streaming services you can get right now, besides Hulu, and you can actually use it to make money!

What you'll be doing is writing about one show and focusing on every single episode rather than just writing up a review on a single show, like most people out there.  Not many people are writing content about each episode, and that is why you will profit more than the rest when it comes to this type of website and content generation.  Think of it this way, people always say to "target the low hanging fruit" when it comes to SEO, and that's basically what you'll be doing with all this content writing for each individual episode Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

How many times have you been looking for a show to watch online and you stumble across someone writing an article about what they liked and what they didn't?  If you're just like me, you probably stumble across these posts pretty often and read them as well lol.  I don't like spoilers, but I'll read a decent review if I come across it when searching for the show I wanted to watch.  For that reason, I've written up a way you can write up plenty of content and capture people just like me Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

Choose the right show
There are thousands of shows on Netflix, so you'll need to choose the right shows to write about.  Not every show on Netflix will stay there for every, they actually remove shows after a certain amount of time, but you don't really have to worry about that because people will look for shows online regardless if they're on Netflix!  You're just using Netflix as your primary way of binge watching and then writing content.

You'll need to pick shows that are already popular among Netflix, and that's not difficult to do because there's actually a "Popular on Netflix" category you can skim through lol.  I like to go through my suggested list and pick something that might be a little obscure that not a lot of people would likely be watching.  Think about it, if you're writing about an obscure anime, you'll likely rank quicker than if you wrote content about the show Friends.  In essence, you'll be targeting the low hanging fruit by writing about the shows that not as many people are watching Make money watching Netflix then writing about it  Of course, later on you can write about whatever you want, but right now we're focusing on getting some traffic in right away and that means you need to write about what the majority of people aren't watching.

Why Netflix Originals are great
No matter what Netflix original is coming out, or has been out for a while, you know it's going to be a popular show.  Netflix only produces "Netflix Originals" after they do a ton of market study and figure out what people are watching.  The show House of Cards only came about because Netflix figured out that a lot of people are dedicated to political related shows, and they will spend more time watching this type of show.  Netflix has a perfect formula, since they ask people to rate the shows on their platform, so the already know what's going to be a good niche to get into and what isn't.

Netflix originals are good to write about because you usually know when they're going to be coming out.  You can actually write up a bunch of content before the first episode even goes live, and get the initial wave of traffic coming in.  You know it's going to be a popular show, so writing about it before everyone else is, is basically targeting low hanging fruit that could become the best fruit later on Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

Start from the beginning of the series
If you're going to take this seriously, you need to start from season 1 episode 1 in order to generate a ton of great content.  What if there are a massive amount of people out there that just want to read about the show and not actually watch it?  They will want to go episode to episode and read everything they can.

Even if I just made that up, you won't want gaps in your content, so watch and then write about each episode Make money watching Netflix then writing about it  You never know what keywords you're rank for with each new episode Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

Move on to a different show
After you've written about an entire show, you now need to rinse and repeat the process and start over.  You will find a great show that not a ton of people are watching, watch an episode, then write about that episode and continue on to the next in the line of episodes.  You can do this all day long, and even get through a lot of shows you wanted to watch in the process, and actually make money from it through monetizing your pages with adsense or any other form of ads or affiliate links Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

In Conclusion
You won't make a massive amount of money doing this, unless you can crack into the top 3 listings for a super popular show, but you can still make some money if you do it right.  Think about it, if you watch a show that has 3 seasons and 25 shows in each season, you'll have 75 new pages of content about each individual page that could rank within the search engines for various terms.  In fact, since you're targeting less popular shows, you can actually rank for hundreds of keywords and get a massive amount of traffic after you write about just a few shows Make money watching Netflix then writing about it  In the beginning you'll want to stick with one single niche, like action or anime, and branch out later on if you really want to or just stick with that niche.  In the end, you will have a ton of content related to peoples shows they really want to watch, and you can make some cash from getting clicks Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

Razzy this is brilliant and I may just implement this with a series I am currently watching, it will work beautifully on my addiction blog. I don't know if you have watched the series Mom? It is about a mom (duh) that is a drug addict and her mother is also a drug addict and then the teenage daughter falls pregnant, just like her mom and her gran, so history is repeating itself. It is really funny, but also sad and real.

Anyhow enough about that series, you've just planted a whole stack of ideas in my head now. I am just wondering whether Netflix actually has an affiliate program or not? I could do it with Amazon and make affiliate sales.

There is also all the merchandise that could be included and marketed with affiliate links - people go crazy for that sort of thing, just think Game Of Thrones!

Just a question, what would you advise? Reviewing series or shows on your blog that already exists or creating a new website to review a variety of shows or would you create one website for one series or show? What do you think would be best here? Obviously the more targeted your niche the better your rankings and traffic but I wouldn't want to manage loads of websites. I already have 4!

Yeah, it's crazy how many ideas you can get from just watching TV lol Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

As for your questions...

I am just wondering whether Netflix actually has an affiliate program or not?
I'm not sure if they have an affiliate program, but you can definitely use Amazons affiliate program to send them to shows they can watch or subscriber to. If you were to happen to be writing about anime, you could have gone with the crunchyroll affiliate program lol Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

Just a question, what would you advise? Reviewing series or shows on your blog that already exists or creating a new website to review a variety of shows or would you create one website for one series or show? What do you think would be best here?
Well that all depends on what your current blog is all about. Are you writing about shows and movies already? If you are, then you can simply lump in new shows and write about whatever you want. If your blog isn't related to the niche/industry of writing about tv shows and movies, I would highly suggest looking into a new domain and website all together so you can be niche specific. No one wants to come to a blog about shoes and see they are writing about movies and shows lol Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

Treat it like a hobby and see where it takes you. Usually you'll lose money in the first few months, but after you get out of the probation period new websites deal with, you could see a decent amount of traffic coming in to each post you've made Make money watching Netflix then writing about it Just be sure to do a decent amount of posts while you're not ranking, so that when you do rank you can have plenty of content there for people to read through Make money watching Netflix then writing about it

I've not made a dime writing about shows, but it seems this is one sure way that I could get to do that which is encouraging for me. I'll try to watch the Netflix Originals and see how I can monetize it at the end of the day.

I like the idea, but unless your website ranks with Google your probably not going to get any searches on Google. Google put the content way down the list unless your website is established and popular. Otherwise, you can count on being on page 10 if your even that lucky.

I don't think Google will deliberately put the content down the line,I believe it all about the content of one's site or are you saying that when once it all about reviewing a show that it naturally doesn't rank high, no matter the content or SEO of the site.I'm a bit confused here.

Netflix really has gotten so big in the past few years that people have made businesses out of talking about it. I compare it to the success of Apple wherein lots of companies were able to establish themselves by making accessories for Apple products, and in this similar way, a lot of online video and written blogs have also gotten established just by reviewing Netflix shows. The great thing about this is that you don't have to focus solely on this service alone as there are many other streaming services and other content as well.

I think that it would actually be a great idea to do podcasts about Netflix series and shows and have the podcast recording release dates correspond to when the shows finish so that people can go to the podcast discussion after watching an episode and then enjoy a discussion about what happened during the program. It would be like the post-show for the Walking Dead or Stranger Things, but just an online version, I guess.

I have seen many bloggers who write the reviews based on the episodes being watched. And they do sort of like live blogging. And I am sure that is paying them some good amount. And there seems to be a lot of buzz around that part. Another thing is that writing about those who try to watch movies it can be a good experience too. I guess movie based blogs and the websites can make things easier that way.

I might try it. I usually watch Netflix every night. I might want to write about a specific show that is popular but not extremely so. I just wonder how many people are actually looking for content on the show though. I wonder about it. I wouldn't think to look for a blog about it, but maybe some would be.

As much as I DO watch Netflix, I should be getting paid for it, lol. I think this is an interesting idea--I am not sure about affiliate markets regarding this, but I think that any blog which is reviewing entertainment media is going to be in line with some pretty stringent competition. Because Netflix is creating so much original material, it does give us writers an opportunity to produce original content around it. They filmed Stranger Things in the small Georgia town where I live, actually, and that created quite a buzz. I like this idea, but iI am not exactly sure how to go about effectively monetizing it.

Writing about movies and tv shows will bring traffic and money. People are always searching online to know more about the movies and TV shows that want to watch or love watching. If you write reviews, you can find readers for your reviews. You can also sell affiliate products thorough such reviews.

The wide library of shows currently available in Netflix also makes this possible, because people will always wonder when they're browsing the app which ones are worthy of watching, and not all shows have been reviewed online, so this is a great way of keeping fresh and updated content in blogs.

This is true about writing reviews about shows and movies that we've watched on Netflix. The thing with having a section of the blog to discuss this is that most of us will want to read about some movies and then decide later, if watching the same movie is worth it or not. I'm not seeing many use this opportunity for it is one that many webmasters should be really considering.

Yeah, maybe because watching the shows and movies first and then writing about them is a bit time-consuming, so only those who love watching series or movies think about making use of Netflix to earn money writing reviews.

I have seen other sites that write about the episodes. Asian sites that write about mainly Korean dramas. So your idea makes sense. The thing is I'm not all that impressed with the Netflix Original Series. But I do like K-dramas and I write content after viewing a series.

By the way, I have heard that Netflix hires people to rate shows and make comments. They say you have to check the job listings at a Netflix site. They're not always hiring. I was never fortunate enough to land such a sweet gig!

I know of someone who is writing about the review of tv shows. She has a lot of followers that I have been advising her to create her own blog for what she was doing. Her specialty is the Korean drama that most of her reviews are about Korean drama shows on tv. Unfortunately she is posting the reviews in Facebook only so she gets nothing from it.
