My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

There are great tools out there to create unique and original domain names. This is one aspect of website creation that stumps me the most. What do I call my website? I spend usually a week or two before I pick out the name.

Great tools to help you generate domain names (I've used every one in the past, and still use some today):

Shopify Business Name Generator
This tool allows you to just generate business type domain names. It usually applies what the most popular keywords are for business type domains.
https://www.shopify.com/tools/business-name-generator

Namemesh
This is by far my most favorite domain name generator. It allows you to pick and choose from many different top level domains (TLDs). It also provides a feature if you want a shorter domain. This is probably the most popular domain name suggestion tool on the internet.
https://www.namemesh.com/

DomainsBot
I love this tool because it's really fast, and they offer suffices, prefixes, and a lot of new top level domains (TLDs). They also list popular synonyms just in case your original domain name idea is already taken you can use a synonym as a replacement word.

If you all know of anymore suggestion tools, please feel free to add them here. These are my top 3 favorite!

I've been using NameMesh for a while now and love it My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools I like using the suggestions in the "FUN" section because they're usually shorter and a little better for branding if you want to make your website an industry leader. Of course you could do this with any domain, but the FUN section gives you shorter domains usually and that's what you want to look for most of the time My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

I didn't know shopfiy had a business name generator, and after testing it out, it looks pretty awesome. I'm going to be playing around with this for a bit because I've been trying to come up with a domain name for a new site I've been trying to launch and I keep hitting road blocks whenever I think I have a good idea. Of course I want it to be a .com, but I'm starting to lean towards something else because it feels like all of them are taken My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

I've never heard of domainsbot, but after giving it a quick look through, it seems to be pretty good. I do like the option to show the Sedo domains (the ones you can purchase for a premium price) but some of them are insanely priced lol. I wish this service had an option like NameMesh where it would give you different lists to pick through and not just a bunch of pages to go through to figure out which domain would be best for you.

These three services will definitely help me with my domain name block (similar to writers block) and I should be able to come up with something clever if I use the best parts of all 3 services to my advantage My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

I'm glad I saw this as soon as you posted it, I was literally just searching through NameMesh and also typing domain names into Godaddy that I thought would be clever, but I haven't been having any sort of success My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

Annnnnnnd I think I figured out what domain I'm going to be using My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

It's catchy, niche related, and not up for auction so I'm going to pay like $15 for it lol My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

coming up with a nice and catchy domain name could be difficult today because almost all common domain names that you can think of has been already owned by somebody else. The domain name generators mentioned above are really helpful to come up with a domain that you can use. Thanks for sharing!

It seems like a lot of the obvious keyword ones are owned, and that's why a lot of companies are going towards mashups of common words within their niche in order to come up with their domains. In fact, that's what I just did with the new domain I found My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools

There are probably a bunch of websites you go to that have done this. A good example is Quora.com since they used the phrase "Questions or Answers" and used the Qu from Questions, the entire word "or", and the A from Answers to compile the name Quora My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools Well, that's what everyone is saying they did since Quora actually hasn't said how they came up with their domain name lol.

Shorter domain names, that are mashups, aren't as easy to work with because they tend to be more difficult to write. The best thing about them is you can still get the "short and sweet" effect with them and that's best for branding My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools I love getting those domain names that are 8 characters or less and on a .com, but that's getting more difficult with all these big domain companies just purchasing whatever they can get their hands on to resell to anyone that is interested :'(

At first, I was a little bit skeptical about using mashup words for a domain name but going through a long period of time thinking a domain, I realized that mashing up is sometimes the only choice especially if you really want to use the words that really appeals to you. And it's good if you could mashup words that seems a word also in a dictionary just like Quara.

I think I like domainsbot more, it features are quite valuable especially to a newbie to blogging online. The tool can help one with a great domain name especially if the name one had for his or her blog or site has been used by another. I love the fact that these tools can totally generate more names for one to choose from.Coming up with a similar name for a domain that has been taken isn't easy but when these tools it done in minutes because it is swiftly done.

Namemesh seems to be a good tool. I have also some of the local tools which has the trademark. And there are some of the tools such as that they can use for verification. And it can be possible to use AHREF and MOZ too. I have seen some of the time MOZ seems to be good for the Domain authority. I have noticed things to be lot easier to visualize.

I will have to try Namemesh. I admit I have not heard of it before, but it sounds like something that I might want to use at some point. It sounds like it is something that can be customized to a certain extent which is always good. I think it would be a great tool.

I'd personally also suggest you go with Namemesh and see if you like it. It hasn't disappointed me once and I had two very weird niches that I was stuck on picking the right domain name. I just really like the features that the tool has, give it a try.

Thanks, I think that I will. I am not sure I have heard of it but it sounds like something that is quite worthwhile investigating. It might be just what the doctor ordered in terms of a new name.

You have listed my favorite one which is the Namemesh. I absolutely love this tool because it has helped me out more than once already, haha My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools It isn't easy picking the right domain name for your new website because you need to consider different aspects such as is it catchy, memorable, niche related, taken? And more.

I will give the other two a try just to see if they're better or worse than Namemesh.

I agree it really is very difficult trying to come up with names especially if you are like me and like to try out many different ideas under many different accounts and business names. It's definitely going to help make the process faster even if I myself am very picky, tools like this will at least help with giving me an initial idea I can work around and mold into something that I feel can work for my project.

This is actually one of my weaknesses as I tend to get stuck a lot trying to think up names and I'm very picky when it comes to that too so I always end up taking a lot of time on a step that I probably shouldn't spend too much time on. Good thing that these days there are many tools like this and I never knew there were this many I could choose from so thanks for sharing. I will definitely get some use out of these as I am planning on setting up a few ventures in the next year and would need a lot of help generating names for each one.

I have not used any of them but I did hear of domainsbot and namemesh very often. I don't own any domain name yet, prefer to write online at blogspot or wordpress. Free of charge.

I like a lot NameStation due to their unique approach, using it I got for example the domain name idea for themeisle.com My Top 3 Favorite Go To Domain Name Generators/Tools. The whole idea got me so excited that few months ago decided to build our own domain name generator ( https://domainwheel.com ), half of the results are coming directly from domainsbot, however we enhance it using other data and tools.

Thanks for sharing the links to the domain name generators that I’m sure some of the users here will benefit from that. But for me, I have to be honest that the domain name on my mind is better than the one that will be generated by a software or a site. A website is like a baby so I want to name it by my own thinking. I wouldn’t want my child to be named by somebody else.
