8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Starting a website or blog is a fairly easy thing to do in todays world, but getting found is where your struggle really starts.  With around 1,000,000,000 websites live right now, you're going to be a drop in the sea of websites all fighting for top rankings, sales, email sign ups, and anything else that will help grow your startup.  Don't worry, everyone has been in your shoes but a lot of them may not have had information like what I'm going to cover for you 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Blogging is probably one of the best ways to bring in traffic for any startup.  It's great because you don't really have to invest a lot of money into content generation if you don't want to.  You can literally just sit at your computer and type up quality information about your industry and be able to fight for the top rankings over time.  Big corporations can't purchase organic top rankings in Google, Yahoo!, and Bing which means you have a fighting chance on an even playing field to get those top rankings.  Now, it will take some time because you'll have to build up your authority within your niche before the search engines decide to place you at #1 whenever you make a new blog post.

You have the expertise to write the content up in the perfect format for your readers, so you will be your best writer in the beginning.  You can vet a lot of writers until you find the right one for your blog, but you should still be writing content for your own blog even if you bring someone else on board.

In this discussion I'll be covering 8 ways you will be able to help your own startup through blogging, and they are:

People commenting on your posts should be seen as feedback
Whenever you're blogging, you will likely get some people commenting on posts you've published.  Now, it does take some time to see a decent amount of comments getting to your blog posts, but that's a normal thing so don't get too worried if you're not getting 100 comments on your first blog post the day you posted it 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Watch what your visitors are commenting on your blog posts, if they are commenting something similar and adding quality comments, you're doing something right.  If the visitors who are commenting aren't matching the content, you're likely hitting the wrong industries and niches with your posts so you'll need to go over the content and optimize it much better so you can target keywords better.

Search engine rankings usually increase when you blog
I touched on this a little bit earlier in this discussion, but it deserves it's very own section, so here we go!

Blogging helps you increase your search engine rankings because Google, Yahoo!, and Bing want to show their own visitors high quality content.  If your goal is to get a lot of traffic from the search engines, without setting up a PPC campaign, you should be blogging frequently because the search engines love quality content 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup  You need to be sure to optimize your content for better rankings, but that doens't take much time, you'll actually do it well enough after a few posts to not even realize you're doing it lol.

People will actually share your blog posts and that means you will show up on their own websites as well as their social media profiles.  Getting free traffic from shares is just as good as getting free traffic from increased rankings from the search engines, the only difference is that social shares are backed by the person sharing them and it gets their friends to trust your website a little more.

Create your own writing style to stand out
Writing content for your blog is more than just typing on a keyboard and clicking "publish" when you think you're done.  You will want to write in your own voice in order to stand out from the people who just sound like robots.  People want to see that you're a real person, and other than posting a profile picture with each blog post, you will need to have a unique way of writing that people will be able to relate to or notice if they stumble across one of your articles online.

Your own writing style is similar to your thumb print.  Sure, a lot of people will have similar writing styles because they will want to be seen as a professional, but that usually makes you blend in with the other people in your industry and that's not what you want.  People will know you're an authority within your niche based on what you're saying, not necessarily how you're saying it, so develop your own writing style and stand out in a good way with your visitors 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Blogs can help you find a business partner
I know you want to do everything on your own and be successful, but there aren't too many successful businesses out there run by a single person.  Having a business partner will help with the work load and you can actually be more successful than you were when you decided you wanted to be a one man show.

People looking to partner up with a good company will usually search popular phrases for your niche and industry, and that means if you're blogging and getting rankings, you'll start getting on the radar of potential business partners and be able to bring someone on board that knows a lot about the industry as well as pushing a business towards success 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Of course, you'll want to vet any potential business partners and figure out who would be the best match for your blog/website/business.  You'll need to make sure they can perform tasks that you can't, or don't want to lol.  Think of it as a puzzle and you 66% of the pieces, if your business partner can fill in the other 33% as well as overlap 33% of what you already know, you'll have the best match possible.  You'll have the best match possible because they can do the things you can't as well as help out on certain things that you both understand 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

You need to be seen as a leader to potential employees
A lot of people would rather work for a good company with a great goal than a big corporation that has a bunch of rules and politics.  People want to help build up a company, and this is why they will usually look to invest their time and effort into a startup.  Look at it this way, if you were to be a starting employee for a startup that has potential to go big, you will likely be able to work your way up the corporate ladder and sit at the big kids table sooner rather than later 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup  You'll know the owners of the startup and they will reward you for taking a chance on them in the beginning 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Being a leader within your niche is the first thing you should do in order to bring these people on board.  No one wants to find a blog that is lack luster and in the top 100 within the industry.  They want to work with the top 10 in the industry, and even if you're #10 you can still pull in a decent amount of potential employees.  If you're not confident in your writing, people will see this, and you will lose a lot of potential employees wanting to invest all of their time to make your blog and business even better than it is.

Start collecting leads and building a list early on
Blogs are an amazing way to generate leads because you can get your content raked fairly high within the search engines in a short amount of time if you're already seen as an authority.  Your blog posts will get indexed, then ranked, and you will notice a decent amount of people coming to your website and signing up to your newsletter.  Your newsletter is where you can convert the tire kickers who didn't purchase during their first visit 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

If you don't have an email capture system set up, I highly recommend you check out MailChimp, ConstantContact, or aweber to get the ball rolling.  If you're not collecting emails already, you're just throwing money out the window 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Blogging and social media work well together
Plenty of bloggers can credit their success due to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn because they would share their great content with these social media platforms.  It's not that difficult to do either, you simply take your time writing up a great blog post, then you post it to your social media platforms and set up an ad on Facebook to send traffic to your newly created content 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Facebook allows you to get extremely targeted so you know the people who are seeing your blog post are actually going to be interested.  This means you will save money on clicks due to filtering out the people who aren't going to be that interested and you will increase your shares because the people will love your content 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Your potential customers want to find your information where they are, not where you are, so you need to be on social media platforms if you want to convert a lot of them in a short amount of time.

Get noticed and you will have investors contacting you
It's not like what you see in the movies, people don't just go and get funding when they want to because they have the need to expand.  If you're blogging about your industry and business, your potential investors will find you and get in touch.  Investors are always searching for new businesses that have potential, and the main way they find them is through the search engine results pages (SERPs).  If you're blogging, and eventually getting top rankings for good keywords, your potential investors will have an easier time finding you.

If you're a leader within your industry and have amazing content with it's own voice, your potential investors will be more at ease.  Investors want to put in massive amounts of money based on YOU and not just what your idea is all about.  If they don't like you, they probably won't invest anything at all.

*** BONUS ***
If you're worried about the startup cost for blogging, you shouldn't be, because it's fairly cheap or even free if you want to go that route.  If you don't want to invest any money into this, you likely won't be seen as much of an authority, but maybe that's the route you want to take.  Investing some initial money into the look and feel of your blog will go a long way, and it doesn't even cost that much if you're going to be serious about blogging.  You can purchase a domain for $25 or less, set up a hosting account for $10 a month, and purchase a premium WordPress theme for $100 to $120 off of themeforest.  After you set everything up, you will look extremely professional, much more than if you were using a free blog 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

In Conclusion
Blogging has a tremendous effect on how many sales you'll be bringing in to your website.  But just publishing content won't get your ranked and making more money for your startup.  You will need to optimize your content, write in your own way/voice, and be professional at the same time.  Blogs can help you find business partners and even investors, so be sure to get out there and write up some amazing content for people to find 8 ways blogging will definitely help your startup

Recently I have seen some of the bloggers reaching out for the interviews. And those series are turning out to be a good content. I'd say that if anyone is seriously looking for the startup life then you have to be understanding about the social connection. I think if we can handle the content marketing through some of such methods. There is more chance of reaching people. And they can even take the startup viral with more promotion from their end.

This is so smart, and it mirrors what Razzy is saying above. I have ALWAYS looked at comments on my blogs and on social media as potential feedback regarding how what I am doing as going. Just the basic tone of some of the responses is enough to learn a ton from. Even if our social connections do not take us viral immediately, we can slowly and steadily build upon those to keep feedback coming in as we grow in out content production and in learning about our online endeavors.

Yes comments are usually being read by others. And when we make use of the link in the there. That can bring some traffic. Also the people who comment can do some level of influencer marketing. So this overall works out. I'd say on that point it's reasonable to make use of the blogging with your startup. And also large amount of social media fees for the same.

Right--it's all about being smart with the social media applications. The traffic that can be generated through social media, though, is remarkable, and you have to keep up the correspondence with the people on social media who are supporting you or being positive towards your content. Just keeping up with social media contacts, as a freelancer, is a huge part of my job, but it does pay off.

Freelancers get random chances of doing the business. And that means people have to be really functioning for the work around. I'd say if you are into startups then learning about it and then doing the job helps. Because all the projects are unique with social media.

An interview is one good way of publishing a good blog in terms of readership. We are talking of celebrities here or interesting people. An example is a security guard who has a family but continued studying to become a school teacher. When he graduated, he was a hot copy in social media that an interview with him would surely generate a big number of visitors to the blog.

People always want to know about others and that gives them direction. And often this kind of open new direction for the blog readers. They can use that content to learn from others. So it's kind of a good idea to start the blog with such content.

You can also set your tone as being sincere in a blog. People who seem sincere often get the attention fo people who may be looking to buy from you.

I think feedback on your blog can be immeasurably helpful to help you improve your blog and your prescence online. I think we should always take the comments of our readers seriously and use them to make improvements on our blog, our content, our writing style.

I agree that putting up a blog as a complement to the business helps a lot because it shows transparency and a lot of people can appreciate that so I also agree a lot with the benefits you have stated here such as finding an audience with social media or even finding investors. Having a blog can really make people feel comfortable because you have a venue where you can share your path and experiences so the audience can expect something better than perfection which is the ability to show your flaws and work through them publicly so they can also be comfortable in your honesty and sincerity.

The comments to your posts, whether it is a blog or forum or even social media, is definitely a feedback which means someone had reacted to your post. So whether the comment is good or not would not matter much. The most important thing to bear in mind is that your content caught someone’s attention. With the writing style, I agree that each of us has his own distinct style but we can still develop it to improve by more practice.

If you have a business website or ecommerce website, blogging helps you to gain traffic. If you share your products and services that you are promoting on your website on social media, people may not click your link, however, if you share blog posts with your services and products listed on it, people might check your link.
Blogging will provide regular contents on your website.

People are too consumed by social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter that they forget one of the original ways of publishing content, marketing and gaining traffic, which is blogging. It is still very relevant today and if you are just starting with your business/website, you have to use everything that is available to you to increase your sales and make a mark in the industry, so don't underestimate the value of a well-maintained blog.
