If you think about how often people log into social media platforms each day, it's pretty exciting if you're in the business of capturing leads. In today's world, you don't have to work with the mail system to send out post cards or puchase ad space in newspapers and worry about who is actually seeing your ads. With the internet today, you can get super targeted and be sure everyone that is seeing your ad is actually something that could be interested in it
If you only use Facebook for your marketing purposes, you can reach millions of people more than if you were to purchase an ad in your local newspaper or send out a direct mailing campaign to peoples houses. What's even funnier is that you can target millions of people who would be interested in your product or service through Facebook and actually pay less lol. Another beautiful thing is that you don't even have to spend a single cent when it comes to Facebook marketing. You can build your audience over time and get your posts in front of them, for free, because they are already following you
If you're just starting out and read those first two paragraphs, you probably think reaching billions of people online is an easy thing to do, but it's not. There have been plenty of online entrepreneurs who have quit simply because they would get so irritated at their campaigns because they weren't working how the entrepreneur expected. To help you along your way, I've written up 5 things to focus on to build a nice base for your company no matter if it's fully online or a hybrid online/offline business model.
Creating engagement with people
In today's world, you can actually purchase your own following but it won't be the best thing for you. You can purchase Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram followers as well as purchase email lists in order to spam your message to, but none of that will matter because you'll never create engagement. If you're purchasing your followers, you will likely be annoyed or angered when no one is engaging with your posts. It doesn't matter if you're purchasing 100,000+ followers, nothing will likely happen because they will all be fake.
Instead, you should focus on building a real following by creating high quality content and engaging with anyone who is commenting on your posts. Your interactions with people who are commenting will get noticed by lurkers (people watching and not commenting) and they might decide to share your post, bringing in even more views to your content and possibly more comments
You can purchase a massive following, but if they aren't real or creating any sort of engagement, they won't be worth your time. Work on quality and not quantity and you'll be happy you did.
Always build your audience
If you look back on how many people fail at their business, it's likely because they focus more on their actual systems before they focus on their following. They were constantly working on their websites design, it's programming, scripts, writing up eBooks, and various other things all while forgetting about their following. The people are what make you successful, not the system running everything, so remember to always be building your audience
You can continually build your business, but not focusing on your following will likely make you fail pretty soon. A lot of the successful business owners will spend time building up their audience by doing the following:
