When people start up blogging, they tend to want to make some money off of it later on down the road. It doesn't matter if you're just starting off or you're a seasoned veteran, you're going to be researching and implementing methods in order to make some money online. While there are many different ways to make money through blogging, there are certain criteria that you need to stick with in order to be successful. If you don't stick to it, you'll likely see yourself falling hard and having trouble getting started back up. If you don't work on building your list, which is one of the main criteria for blogging, you won't see yourself building too quickly and your profits will never come in.
Before you start building your lists, you need to make sure your blog is up to date on the latest news and content about your industry. If you fail to do this, you won't have much engagement on your posts or your ads for that matter. There are plenty of people starting up blogs every single day and they never see any profits coming in, so we're going to try and avoid that by generating you some money through list building and advertising On the other hand, there are the bloggers out there who seem to just have a knack for it and can build a massive following and sell their blogs for millions a few years down the road.
Of course, this is just a rare example of what you can do with blogging, and it's unlikely you'll be able to sell your work for millions a few years down the road, but don't let that stop you from trying to make something online Of course, it's easier to strive for a goal when you know someone has already done it! So, if you plan on starting a blog or already have one up and running, you'll need to adhere to a few things.
Running a blog isn't all glitz and glamour, you need to keep posting content consistently and make sure it's high quality and not some garbage posts. It's actually a lot of work to run a successful blog, but you can do it if you just stick with a plan of attack. What you'll need to do is as follows:
Consistently post high quality content
You can't post once or twice a month and come back here to complain about not being a millionaire. You need to be posting daily in order to have a massive amount of content that can bring in traffic from the search engines. Think of it as fishing, the more lines you have in the water, the more likely you'll catch a fish. The same goes for blogging, the more content (lines) you have on your blog, the more likely you'll bring in some traffic (fish) which will read everything and hopefully help generate some revenue. Some of the bigger bloggers are writing all day long, posting 20,000 words of content across 5 different topics that are still related to their blogs.
Build your audience and treat them well
Posting quality content daily isn't the only thing you need to do, you need to grow your audience over time. Doing this means you need to be replying to comments, building up your community using email marketing and being active on social media platforms talking to everyone who follows you.
Become a storyteller
If you become a blogger, or you already are, you must be good at storytelling in order to keep people coming back to your blog and engaging with all of your new content. If you can weave words in a way that keep people moving down the page instead of clicking the dreaded X on the tab and leaving the page, you will be better off in the profit department lol.
Attracting readers in a strategic manner
If you're not thinking outside of the box, or even using common methods to attract readers, you won't be in this business for long. You'll need to know a bit about SEO, guest posting, getting interviewed, advertising and many other things that can help pull traffic to your pages and posts. This isn't a quick thing, you'll learn it all over time, so don't be worried if you aren't seeing a ton of traffic coming in after the first couple of months. Keep posting and optimizing each article in order to boost your rankings over time. The search engines will be watching you, and if they love what you're doing, they will boost your rankings and send some traffic your way.
Stay on Topic!
Successful blogs are only profitable when they stay on topic. Sure, you can report on a big event happening around the world that will likely change history, but that's the only time you should be straying from your industry. If you're running an insurance blog, you shouldn't be posting about your vacation to Hawaii over the winter and avoiding any snow where you live. Your audience comes to your blog to see posts about a certain niche, if they come in and you're posting about random stuff, they won't see you as an authority and you'll notice your subscribers dropping.
In Conclusion
Blogging isn't a difficult thing to do, but it is easy to screw up, so I would recommend reading a few ebooks or browsing some forums to make sure you're doing everything right. You might not get it right the first time, but you'll get the hang of it over time and you'll notice that if you stick with it, you'll become more and more profitable each month

Couldn't agree more! The high-quality content is probably one of the biggest factors if you want to succeed as a blogger. I'd suggest mixing the content with smart promoting through social media platforms. Oh and another thing to note, if you want to get loyal followers, be consistent! Don't post once per week but rather 3-4 timesYou are 100% correct. That's the strategy that most successful bloggers employ. [quote][i]Couldn't agree more!
