Why you shouldn't worry about getting indexed right away
When you set up a website, you always hope to have a massive flood of high-quality traffic coming in. After a day or two, you'll go crazy searching your keywords and even your domain name to see where your site is in Google's index, and it's not showing up! Getting indexed doesn't happen right away, so you don't have to worry too much about it. If you constantly try to search up your website, day and night, just to see if you're indexed, you could go crazy and think that nothing is working when it comes to getting your pages seen by Google or the other search engines.
Google takes their sweet time when it comes to indexing websites. They need to evaluate you and your pages before they decide to place you among their index. You can't just push your way to the top of the rankings after you go live, even though that would be nice, it simply doesn't happen that way lol. In this discussion, I'll be going over why you shouldn't be worrying about your index rate and what you should focus on while Google and the other search engines do their job
The search engines will find you, don't worry
You don't need to worry about getting found, if you're doing everything you can in order to build your business the right way, they will find you and index you eventually. If you're worried that your website isn't getting indexed quick enough, or the search engine spiders aren't coming to your website often enough, there are a few things you can do to bring them crawling.
- Get on social media - By going to your social media account and posting to your public profile or even a facebook group, you can get the search engine spiders to find you a bit quicker because they are constantly crawling anything on facebook that is publicly viewable. So just doing this little thing can get your homepage, or subpages, found in a very short amount of time and you'll notice you show up in the Google search results shortly after.
- Post on high traffic blogs (without spamming) - This is another great way to get the search engine spiders to come crawling. You simply go to a very popular blog and type in your domain name within a comment. Try to make the post relevant to what someone is asking, so it doesn't look like spam, and gets accepted. Also, nofollow links won't help you get indexed so be sure you're posting on dofollow blogs in order to get indexed right away.
- Post on forums - Posting on forums is similar to posting to blogs, except with a forum you get a fancy little section where you can have a signature banner or link. This is basically an advertising section where you can post whatever you'd like, and sometimes people will click through to your website. Again, you'll have to make sure this is a dofollow link in order for it to help you out at all when it comes to getting indexed.
- Pinging your backlinks and pages - Pinging has been around for a long time, ever since the computer was invented. To ping your pages and backlinks you simply go to PingFarm.com and enter in all of your URLs, your websites pages and any page with backlinks on them aimed at your site, then ping them all at once. Pinging your links is like ringing a dinner bell for all of the search engine spiders, ping and they will come
Get your content ready before indexing happens
If you don't have a decent amount of content on your website, the spiders will leave and they may not come back right away to index all your new posts. If you post a bunch of content on your website early on, it will help you immensely when the spiders do eventually get to your website and crawl everything they can. The more content you have on your website, the more likely you'll get top rankings for some long-tailed keywords and start seeing the traffic coming in
Set up your interlinking
This is easier said than done, unless you have some experience in HTML, and will definitely help you get all of your pages indexed quicker. Interlinking is when you build backlinks on your own pages, aimed at other pages of your website, in order to create small doorways for the spiders to jump around on your website and see everything they possibly can in the shortest amount of time possible. This allows the spiders to jump from subpage to subpage instead of going to your homepage, then your subpage, back to your homepage and to another subpage. You're reducing the amount of time a spider takes to crawl everything, and this will help you out immensely in terms of indexing and SEO.
You won't be making money right away from the search engines
If you set up a website and think you're going to be making money right away, you're crazy. When I say you won't make money right away, I'm referring to getting traffic from the search engines and profiting from the free traffic they're sending you. You can always set up advertising through Adwords or Facebook ads and get traffic in as soon as you go live, even before you get your pages indexed by the search engines lol
Once you're indexed, you will notice a trickle of traffic coming in from your content ranking for long-tailed keywords. Over time, you'll be able to jump up in the rankings for tougher keywords, and make more money because of it
You won't have top rankings overnight
Rankings come and go, but they won't start right away. If you're setting up your website and thinking that your amazing SEO efforts will yield results right away, well, that won't happen. You need to build up your authority within your niche, and Google will need to verify everything before they decide to boost you up within their search results. You need to be patient when trying to boost your rankings, and the very first step is getting your homepage and subpages indexed
In Conclusion
Getting indexed isn't a difficult thing to do, but a lot of us will get impatient and start to spam backlinks all over the internet so we get noticed. You need to be patient and build your links slowly, in the beginning, so everything is natural. After a while, you can increase your backlink building efforts to increase your authority and keep the spiders coming to your pages every hour to index every single line of text you have on your website
