Blogging is nothing new when it comes to online marketing, we've been doing it pretty much since the first website went live. You can set up blog posts and publish or schedule them for your subscribers and search engine traffic who might turn into a subscriber. You can create massive amounts of content in order to bring in a bunch of traffic from all over the world, as long as the search engines are loving what you're typing up lol. Blogging to make money isn't new either, we've been doing it for years and it doesn't show any sort of slowing. We will write up blog posts in order to get the traffic in and hopefully, that turns into a purchase, or many of them, in order to keep us motivated to publish more quality content.
Did you know that you could blog as an affiliate and make more doing that than posting your affiliate links around the world on different types of websites? There are thousands of people out there writing up blog posts and embedding their own affiliate links in order to make a sale, or multiple sales, instead of going to someone else's website and placing (spamming) their affiliate links. Spamming isn't a good thing to do, you're just putting yourself at risk of getting banned, so you should try to avoid that lol.
In this discussion, I'll be going over why people get into blogging and why they promote affiliate links through their blogs and also do reviews on products.
Why people get into blogging
You could be a professional blogger or a stay at home mom, blogging is accessible to anyone who wants to be online and post content. There's no prejudice when it comes to blogging, as long as you have an idea and want to write about it, you can get online and do so.
A lot of people get into blogging because they have a passion about something. If you know a lot about a topic, you can typically write about multiple topics and create high-quality content. Even if you don't know much about a topic, but you want to write about it, you can certainly do it but I would recommend doing some research prior to publishing anything so you don't seem like you're unintelligent lol.
In the past, blogging was seen as a sort of online diary where people could post whatever they wanted. Blogging has actually evolved from this and almost every business is blogging in order to bring in traffic, which turns into increased sales due to the increased search engine rankings for specific keywords that were targeted.
In short, people get into blogging because they are passionate about a topic, and eventually it turns into a business for some of them
Why people get into affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing isn't anything new when it comes to online marketing and blogging. People get into affiliate marketing because they want to make some money online, but they don't have a service of their own. After they decide they want to make some money online, and they don't have their own products or services, they will stumble upon affiliate marketing where you just have to share links and get a commission when someone purchases after clicking your links.
There have been plenty of millionaire affiliate marketers, and that's the main reason a lot of people get into it. People think affiliate marketing is easy because others are getting extremely rich from just posting links, but it's much more than that. You need to have dozens of websites ranking for difficult keywords before you can start to see a massive amount of sales coming in. Even then, you will need to set up sales funnels as well as capture as many emails as you can prior to them clicking through to the site you're an affiliate for.
In short, people get into affiliate marketing in order to make some quick cash
How blogging can help you gain affiliate sales
Blogging combined with affiliate marketing is a great marriage and will usually help you make more money in the long run compared to just posting your affiliate links around the internet. You can blog for free, or set up a paid hosting account with a free or paid WordPress theme, and try to get top rankings in the search engines for your desired keywords in order to make a bunch of commissions from your traffic clicking through.
Popular ad networks such as Facebook ads and adwords don't allow users to promote affiliate links through their systems. You can, however, advertise your blog that has affiliate links within it. If you're posting high-quality content to your blog and setting up ads for your top posts, you can likely get a decent amount of traffic coming into it through Facebook ads and adwords. Since this paid traffic is super targeted, hopefully, you will notice a higher engagement rate and your conversion rate should be much higher than normal.
Combining blogging and affiliate marketing won't show it's true potential until you are getting traffic from the search engines as well as PPC traffic.
Why reviewing items is good for affiliate marketing
Blogging and reviewing items has always been a popular thing to do with affiliate marketers. All you do is sign up for a companies affiliate program, and once accepted, you post a very positive review of the product or service they offer and add your own affiliate links.
Why does this work so well? It works well because people will look up "(product/service name) reviews" and if you're one of the first to be found in the search results, you will likely get the commission when they do buy. Reviewing services or products and adding your affiliate links works so well because you're essentially convincing the person that they are in good hands with the company or service you're promoting. The customer is looking for what others are saying, others who have already worked with or purchased the product they are interested in, and they come across your positive review and are instantly sold. They will then click through your affiliate link, as long as it's easily viewable, and purchase from the company you're promoting. This will get you a commission and everyone is hopefully happy long enough for you to get paid
In Conclusion
Blogging, affiliate marketing and reviewing products or services is an amazing thing to do if you want to make some quick cash. This is because when you're reviewing smaller company products or services, it's usually easier to rank in the search engines for "(company) reviews" or "(product) reviews" and siphon traffic to your blog posts, which all have your affiliate links to the specific company or product
