Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
When it comes to guest blogging, there are more moving parts than you would think there could be. Most people think that you can just write up some content and send it off to be published, but it's much more difficult than that. High authority blogs and websites get dozens of submissions each day, which means you will need to stand out from the pack if you want to keep getting your submissions accepted by the good blogs within you niche.
In this discussion I'll be covering some key things you need to work on in order to get more of your submissions accepted. Usually when you get a few dozen submissions up and running you get offered a paying gig to write up content for the website you submitted to, but don't bet on it. I've been writing for a very long time and I've been offered a few positions at companies as their head blogger, but usually they wanted to offer me something along the lines of $10 per post, which is not much for the quality of my writing :'( so I had to turn them down. Anyway, lets get into it
High Quality Content
When it comes to getting your guest post published on a good website, you will need to write very well. Bigger websites won't just accept anything that comes to their inbox, it has to be written up well and entice their readers to engage. If you can't write up some good content that will help the blog increase its rankings within the SERPs (search engine results pages), help increase engagement or close some leads, you can bet your content will get dismissed and they will move on.
Write your content in a way that isn't pitchy, but makes the reader want to click through to your website when possible. If your guest post is just one long sales pitch, it will get deleted almost immediately and you won't hear from that blog again lol
Take your time with each guest post and it will benefit you immensely in the end
Optimize your content
When you're writing content, you need to focus on optimizing it and making it readable at the same time. This will take some time to master, but you can do it quicker and quicker with each post you write up. You need to write up the guest post as if you were making a long article for your own website. You will want to focus on the title so it has a keyword in it and make sure your keyword density isn't over 4% (I like to stay around 2% to 3% just to be safe).
The longer the content and the better it's written, the more likely it will get accepted by the owner of the blog
The length of your content
When you're submitting numerous guest blog posts, you will want to make sure that your content length is much longer than anyone else submitting. Most people will submit content that is 500 words and a few will submit posts at 1,000 words. You'll want to shatter all of that and submit each of your posts at 2,000 words.
Taking your time to write up an amazing article that is 2,000+ words will always get noticed quicker than a basic 500 word post. Blog owners know that content is king, and they will usually go with your submission over the others if you have more than triple the average word count for the submissions.
Be known within you niche
This is one of the more difficult things to do because it takes a lot of branding and time. Getting noticed within your niche will take a lot of blog submissions, interviews, building your website up to be an authority and pretty much anything else that is involved in making an amazing company.
Because of this, you might not be able to use your status in order to get accepted by blogs for guest posting. This isn't an impossible task, it just takes time!
Always post on your own website and make sure it's high quality content. People will eventually contact you for guest posts because you're starting to get noticed
Have a good website with a lot of content on it
When submitting your content for approval, the person reviewing everything will usually check out the websites that they will be linking to. If you have a super basic website that was just launched yesterday, you can expect to get turned down more often than getting accepted. This is because blogs and websites want to link to other well designed and trafficked blogs and websites. Even if you're not getting a ton of traffic, you should at least make your website look great by having a modern design with a good amount of content on it for anyone to read.
Be professional
Being a professional within your field will get you a lot further than being a jerk. People will want to work with you time and time again if you run your blog or website in a professional manner. Think of it, would you want to work with someone who is cocky and thinks they know everything, but doesn't really? Probably not!
Being professional when it comes to your blog or website is good, but being professional in your posts is a little extra thing you can use to get accepted by more blogs. It doens't hurt your look by being professional, it actually is better for you.
In Conclusion
Getting your guest posts accepted is never an easy thing, but with the 8 points I covered above, at least you have a better fighting chance now You'll get rejected more often than you'll get accepted, be ready for that, but don't let it beat you down. Rejection is a part of life and the most successful people are the ones who got up one extra time. You could fail 10 times and succeed on your 11th or you could fail 1,000 times and be a millionaire on your 1,001 try. You never know how long it will take before you start to see your actions breed success, so stick with it and get your guest posts out there on every niche related website and blog
