Best times to post on your blog

Hey guys,

I am curious what's your view on this topic. I have read many discussions and articles where they've discussed the importance of posting on specific days and hours. It is supposed to be the most optimal because you have the biggest chance to reach the most people. But I am confused how are you suppose to even know when these times are for your blog specifically.

So, when are the best times to post new things on your blog? Have you guys found the right timing and if yes, how? Has it showed any change?

Thank you in advance!

Since the internet is international, that means it is 24 hours covering all the countries in the world. I don't think there is an opportune time for posting because of the differences in time zones. You might be asleep when I just woke up. That means we cannot determine the time when most of our viewers are awake. Anyway, you can post in different times and observe the traffic. But for the time of writing, I would say that it is best for me to write in the early morning before having my breakfast.

Yes, that is exactly how I imagine whenever I think about it. Unless you are targeting only very country specific people then I don't see how you can schedule your posts with all the time zone differences.

Generally, I like to post when it is morning for me since I am from Europe but that means that it is night time for countries like the U.S.

I post 2 a day, once in the morning since I am in malaysia, where the USA people are either still blogging at midnight or the next morning. However, I found that the next day, my earning increase after a good night sleep

I think it depends on what type of audience you are trying to target if your blog is geared toward US users for instance perhaps in the evening when most people are home from work. It really depends on knowing your audience and what times your audience may be on. Regardless of when you post if someone likes your blog or website and is a follower they will likely see it anyway.

I am on Eastern time in America, so I structure my blog around that, to a degree. Most of my traffic happens either at mid-day or late at night, after primetime, and then it is sporadic throughout the day, which I am guessing is cell phone activity. That being said, like you are saying, kgord, the blog, once posted, is always out there, so people can access it any time they want, which is a really cool thing about social media like this.

Totally agree with this, it is super important, and the smartest thing to do, man check your traffic. The only way to know when to post, is by studying the time you get the bigger audience. I don't have a blog of my own, but my cousins have a gaming blog and my sister a small local one, so for them, their biggest shot is by night. So eventually people wait to get their answers and check around new opinions by that time.

ballyhara,
It is cool that we have access to tracking statistics on our blogs. With technology generating data like that, I can be more strategic in how I place my posts to get the best stream of traffic at certain times of the day.

In fact I don't really post at a specific time. It all depends when I am free. To be honest I have not really noticed any difference whether I post in the morning or at night or at any other times. I know that some people visit my blog on a daily basis and so I don't really have much to worry.

It depends on the target market of your blog, to be honest. If you have readers from all over the world then there really won't be much of a best time to post because you have readers that will visit your blog at all different times. As long as you post regularly then I'm sure your readers will be fine with that. It won't matter too much whether or not you post in the morning, afternoon or night as long as your content when you post it is good Best times to post on your blog

It depends as they explain to you... Since my target audience is not international but local I would say during the day time, from 8 in the morning, and the latest should be 10 pm-my time, of course-. After that for me it would be a waste of time because the post would get lost in the morning and people won't be able to see them.

Common sense would dictate that the best time to post a blog article would be
when people are most engaged in recreational behavior, most notably before or after work.
Not the case. While traffic sees a notable increase between 10 am - 1 pm, the average blog post usually gets the most traffic around 11 am.

I usually post whenever I want. I just make sure to post the content link on various forum during the thursday or the friday. That surely helps me a lot. I have tried to post content during the weekend. And as expected it did not helped me much. So I make sure to post during the weekdays. And work on the link building strategies during the weekend. That pattern seems to be working for me these days.

Personally, I don't believe in specific time since the internet never closes or go on leave.you can upload your articles any time and when once a visitor logged in,he or she will see it and that's it.

For me the best time for me to post on my blog is at night, its when I am the most creative. There just too many things going on during the day for me to be able to sit down and put on my thinking cap and write a blog post. And like the above poster started the internet is international and runs 24/7 there is no wrong time to make a blog post!

There's no 'best' posting time. It depends largely on the nature of your blog and your audience's worktimes or reading window. Most bloggers will usually recommend that you try to update your blog at fairly predictable intervals, and most recommendations tend to be updated outside of other people's working hours.

I agree. Unless you spam your subscribers with a notice that you will be posting on this certain date so they should be online and keep an eye out for it. But it doesn't work like that. You can post even at dawn or during the weekends but you can't expect people to really know that because they aren't always online.

The better question would be: "What is the best time to share your blog post social medias?" Now that would seem appropriate since you will obviously know how many people are online during a certain time.

It can be easily find out which is the best time to post on a blog by seeing traffic stats from your website, from that you can know when you should post.

As others have stated, the best time to post new blog entries will depend on your target audience's geographical location. That said, in general, I would say the best time is Wednesdays between 1 and 3 pm Eastern (US time). This tends to be a peak time for most of the major social sites, which helps with distribution and visibility. Nevertheless, I think consistency is more important than timing. If you publish a new post every Monday at 8 am, your audience will grow to expect and anticipate it.

Most bloggers that I know have the locals for their target audience so I guess the best time for them to post a new blog is in the late afternoon. I have noticed that internet traffic in this part of the world is peaking starting at 5 pm and it is a plateau until 9 pm or sometimes even up to 11 pm. The off hours that I consider are in the morning from early morning up to 9 am.

As with Facebook, there are good times to post and bad times. However, though, with a blog, you'd need to do personal research (analytics) to find out what are the good times, while, with Facebook, you could probably research online articles. Anyway, does anyone think Google analytics is up to the job?
