How to do video marketing the right way?

Hello,

I'm creating a YouTube channel and am going to publish videos on it, but I'm stuck on a few things.. Hopefully a few internet marketers here can give me any better solutions.

When promoting offers on one channel should I stick to one niche or can I mix multi niches into one?
After designed my channel what should I do next?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Since I am guessing that you are a beginner, I think that you should just focus on milking the most out of one niche for now. You need to learn a few things before you will start making money. Mixing more niches into a single channel can be difficult.

After setting up your channel you should focus on uploading content. The more content the better. Make use of SEO for YouTube videos and use tags, appropriate keywords and don't make the videos too short. After a few good, high-quality videos you should already be making social media profile on every platform available and promote your work.

That should give you the general idea. If you got more questions, ask away How to do video marketing the right way?

You will have to build subscribers, however, subscribers are not only the ones who will be viewing your videos, there will be other users, even the guests who will be watching videos. If you are just starting out, never focus on one niche. For example, your niche is food, you create recipe videos. However, in order to gain views you will have to reach to the people who are actually interested in food. You might end up having just few views. On the other hand if you produce vides on various niches, you can reach to people with different interests, and the views on each videos will add up to the total views.

I agree with building subscribers although that is one hard part in maintaining your youtube channel. One way to get subscribers is thru the social media. Post the link of your newly uploaded video so your social media connections can see it. And if they like your video then they probably would subscribe to your channel. Of course, your video should be generally interesting to get attention. Promoting is just a tool but the quality of the video will still command the interest of the viewers.

True. Subscribers are what build the brand. And often you get more views on YouTube channel and videos through that. I have found that channels with more subscribers are likely to perform better. You just have to promote them in the right places. So that's one more reason I am guessing that video marketing takes time compared to other business. I am just 6K subscribers on youtube so plenty of things to learn.

In order to keep things clean and streamlined on your channel, I'd stick to one promoting one niche at a time. That way you can focus all your attention and energy on that promotion, hopefully ensuring that you're promoting the niche to best of your abilities.

The nice thing about YouTube is that you organize your videos into playlists and categorize them easily that way. So if you do end up branching off promoting different areas, then you can keep your video series branded and organized separately, so they're easy to find.

Indeed. That is one of the best things about YouTube's features. Instead of having multiple accounts for different categories or types of videos, you can just create a channel or playlists for easy categorization. That makes it easier for your subscribers to find your videos.

By the way, does Vimeo also have those features?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TheArticulate
Yes, as a matter of fact Vimeo offers similar functions! You can create "albums" and sort your videos into specialized categories that way, and if you have a business subscription with them, you can create a portfolio page to display videos. Vimeo's options are probably geared more toward a professional video person though. The portfolios are very customizable and look really good, but I don't think they're meant for the average person browsing videos. It doesn't make it as easy to go from one video to the next like a YouTube playlist does.

galegatling
I see. That's very informative. I am assuming that you can also set the privacy of each videos or album? So for instance, you want your portfolio album to be used for online transactions and proofs without also sharing the other albums, is that also possible?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TheArticulate
Yes, you can change the privacy settings for videos and albums so they are unlisted, only viewable to certain people, or accessible with a password or special link.

Just as I thought. I guess it's only normal and it's somewhat basic in my opinion. The only bad thing I can think of about that is if people could eventually go on to your other videos not on the playlist for some reason which I still don't know. It happened on YouTube too before but there was an immediate update after that.

Here is some good responses and advises in replays to your question, but i suggest you also search YouTube for this question, i have seen many videos explaining exactly what you looking for, like maintaining Youtube channel, SEO and marketing, then also explanations about SEO, ranking and marketing of each video...

Inviting your social network's frinds and "call to action" is important too, so just go ahead and work on it, good luck

As what the others have said, I suggest that you focus on your main channel and on one niche for the time being. Develop it and make it grow. And when you feel like you have accomplished that niche for that certain channel, you can then add another channel for another niche that you wish to market.

I think focusing on a niche and perfecting on it is the way to go.Build subscribers for niche before moving to other niches.

I also agree with you!

I think focusing on a single niche will help you focus your efforts on a single site. Once you have success with your channel, then you can think of the alternatives.

Good luck!

Most people tend to do multiple niches or having multiple things on their channels which is good I guess but if you want to promote your products or services, you should focus on one first and see how it goes.

I think promoting the video from your channel on forums is one way to go. Make sure that your forums can be good enough. There are some of the forums and the social networks where the youtube videos can be promoted. And you can get more views from that. I think that strategy always works. So depending on how you are handling this, it can be improved. I am sure you can also answer the user queries and make videos based on that.

One of my best friends started a YouTube channel a year ago, trying to put her business one step up. It was kind of hard at the beginning but she learned some tips: one, she made a good first introduction video, she explained in a short focused way the purpose of her company, then she asked some support from her friends, relatives, clients, to view and share the video. Also, she put it out there in every social media she had. After a while, she showed some incentive to add more viewers by doing an online contest and offering her merchandise as prize. The other thing is to make interaction with your viewers and subscribers, answer their inquiries. And last but not least, keep uploading videos, every certain time, subscribers want to know about updates.

It is also helpful to those of us who are thinking of using this media to promote can definitely learn something from reading these tips of your friend;s experience.

Well mastery is an act that takes efforts, video marketing is a sequence without a rigid way of doing things, to every master his own ship, but there are things you need to know.
Creating a beautiful business video takes talent, time, and resources. Whether you’re producing your video in-house or with an outside team, the process can be expensive and time-consuming. The biggest problem is that after all the blood, sweat, and tears to produce a phenomenal final product, a big piece of the puzzle is often overlooked.
But one tip i have for your is the video thumbnails. The greatest way to ensure people play your video is by using an image of a smiling human making direct eye-contact. Why? People relate to other people. Would you rather open a book with a
bunch of boring text on the cover or one with an image of Prince William smiling at the camera? The latter is more compelling, and the same theory applies to video thumbnails.

Doing video marketing right way depends on which platform you will choose to promote your videos and what you will do for your video to attract viewers. From that, you can get more viewers and you can drive traffic from videos tor your sites or products.

@zaman200 very informative information you have provided. However this does not help on how to do video marketing. You can join all these sites but it won't help you do the marketing. I know a bit about Youtube marketing. Its sought of like marketing on google(not surprising because google own Youtube) Youtube is a search engine so you need to optimize your videos like you would on Google. This is so that it can be found on both Youtube and Google. You also need to ensure that you have amazing content that will move people to act and perhaps buy your product.

We are currently optimizing our videos in Youtube by changing the keywords. When we upload a video, all we do is to add a keyword that first comes to our mind. We didn’t know that the keyword for the video is important in terms of traffic because we had no idea that the search function in Youtube can give you lots of traffic. I guess some other Youtubers are also doing the optimization of the keywords of their videos.
