Do you always get your search results on the first page?

I know some of us here uses Yahoo or Bing search engines but I will make Google search as an example since it is the most popular search engine ever.

Whenever I use google search for, well search purposes, I always get what I'm lookin' for on the first page. I can't remember the last time I searched for something which ended to be in the next page or so. Now I know it depends on the keyword or phrase that we are using to search. We also know that it depends on the popularity of the page or site. For the sake of this discussion, let us only focus on the lighter keywords and phrases.

So do you guys get to page 2 or so?

I think some of the time I have to check more than one page. Google has lot of filtered search these days. So that can be bad for me. And I have to check other pages to see if everything work. So far not much have been working for me. That being said, it'd be fair to understand how the search can be different for each one of us. That's what I have been thinking.

So on what page do you usually get your results? I also sometimes check the next pages for more informations but I would always end up going to the first page. The best thing about Google is that it uses real time location so whenever you search for something specific on your location, you would eventually find it easily.

Mine depends on the keyword. Some of the keyword puts me into the rank 5 or 8 or sometimes next page.So it does not matter much. As long as the traffic comes to me. I can rank with any page and do fine with the same. I hope to see different keyword experiment in this case to find out my ideal position on search page.

When the site is ranking good that it appears on the first page of several search engines, it is thrilling and you will probably be more motivated with the SEO work. But when it seems that the SEO work you have done has no effect on the traffic of your site then you will feel dejected as if you want to start over again. Patience is the key to SEO work because your site may rank low today and suddenly it will rank high tomorrow.

Yes it feels good to get the traffic. But the thing is that traffic remains fluctuating. And not all the time it stays on the top. So we have to kind of experiment with the keywords. That's what makes the search result specific SEO worth checking out. I am going to experiment few more and see if I can retain the position.

I use mostly the google search engine and it has never disappointed me.All the time I get what I want on the first page.

I believe the keyword used most times brings out the desired result.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

True. It all depends on the keyword used. But not all the time you will be using the same keywords. Sometimes you would search unusual ones but would always get your result in the first page no matter what. Search engines nowadays are very smart.

Almost 70% of the keywords I used to search, I could find what I wanted on the first page, The remainder 30% are almost nil, hardly could find anything related because nobody posted the topic online. I still like Google, very convenient and quick to refresh

Those 30% would probably fall on to the next couple of pages. Indeed that is true. Google seem to have found a solution to a lot of people problem when it comes to searching. Now, everytime you put a word or phrase on the search bar, it would then give you suggestions as to what is the most relevant search keywords from the ones that you are typing.

I also use Google most of the time although there are times that I test the other search engines for their capability. With Google, I almost always get what I need on the first page of the search list. But this morning when I was searching for a name of a trial court judge, I reached page 2 of Google. Compared with other search engines, Google is the most efficient in search. The speed is not an issue with me, what matters is the substance in the list of choices.

I only use Google search engine. I have never really used Bing and the last time I used Yahoo! was YEARS ago so my experience is only from Google. I can say that around 90% of the queries that I do, I find what I am looking for on the first page. I very rarely have to go to the second page. One of the instances that I do remember going there was a while ago when we had some very specific poetry classes in university. I was trying to find some in-depth analysis but there weren't any good ones on the first page results. Other than, I am very satisfied with the results.

I have experienced that sometimes when I tend to find a specific thing like a review or quote or something and the keywords that I am using are quite uncommon or unusual so yeah, I have to go to the other pages because there might be some good ones there who did not get high traffic.

Absolutely. It's the reason why I use Google as my search engine. To quote one of my daughters: “It's the best search engine ever!” Not only do I find what I'm looking for but sometimes I find what I was not looking and it turned out to be something I should have been looking for! How cool is that? Do you always get your search results on the first page?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Ha! That is really true! And sometimes that would make us engage into something which isn't even our main target! Do you always get your search results on the first page? But yeah, I could also say that it is by far the best search engine.

More often than not I get what I'm looking for on the first page, however there are some occasions where I end up going deeper. Usually this happens when I'm looking up things which are related to my health. Often times when I look up remedies to certain illnesses, or experiences that others have had, I feel the need to go deeper than just the first page. This isn't because the first page didn't have what I was looking for, but rather I want to look up as many secondary opinions as possible. That being said, I rarely go deeper than the 4th or 5th page.

Deeper? So you would eventually end up to the other pages but would you really get your result there? Kind of unusual for me. :/ Changing keywords doesn't work either?

I am using swagbucks as my search engine so typically the results that come up on the first page are those that have paid swagbucks for the privlidge of being on there. It can be a bit frustrating, so I will sometimes just go to google proper to find the results I am looking for.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This one is interesting. Are you liking it so far? How long have you been using it? Have you searched for keywords or things that are irrelevant to swagbucks? This is the first time I heard someone use a money-earning site and it's search engine.

Most of the time I get results on the first page. There are only few times when I have to click second or third page. I trust results on first page more than that appears on second or third page. Since the results on the first page indicate that these webistes have high search engine rank page and highly appreciated by the search engine, we can trust the information on these websites.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

galegatling
Yep. Most results on the first page are for sure trusted ones because of the amount of traffic they have from other users and people searching. Which means, the information or whatever you are looking for could really be found there - unless if you do search some complex ones.

When I do not find relevant information on the first, second and third page, it indicates that there is a room for developing contents on this topic. Therefore, if I do not find appropriate results on the first few pages, I decide to develop content on this search term.

I think that Google is the best search engine. I was previously using Bing and I am happy that I switched to Google. Google also offers many other services. Now coming to the search engine I usually get what I am looking for on the first page and sometimes I even come across more interesting things that I have not thought of. It is only very rarely that I will get what I am looking for on the other pages.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have tried Bing before but I did not like it for some reason. Probably it loaded so slow or the results that I was looking for was not on the first page or second. I haven't tried using Bing now but I saw them being on one of the top search engines as of this year so they probably are doing good for themselves.

Most of the times I get what am looking for on the first page.
Considering the second page depends on how important the information is to me.
I rely on the the first page tho.

I don't know when was the last time I had to go for the second page of my search result of what I'm looking for :-) It means I always get What I am searching for on the first page, Which is why I like google it always gives me a bunch of sites to choose from and always the first pages have my answer or let me say they are never wrong.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

galegatling
Yeah. And sometimes as what cmoneyspinner said, you might also find something which you aren't really looking for, but also has better informations and would probably make you more interested to it rather than the one that you are looking for. Happened many times to me. Haha.

yes mostly i get whatever i want on 1st page but sometimes obviously have some critical searches take me to even page 10-12 .. lol .. but yes google is the best for search ...

I always use google. I usually find what I am searching for on the first page. The most relevant results are there. But I notice that if you type too long in the search box, you don't usually get relevant results right away on the first page. I even experience getting the result I need on the fourth page. So yes, you are right. Short and light keywords/phrases most likely get you the search results you need on the first page. I also agree that the popularity of the site is also a factor. It gives relevant results to your search.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Corzhens
You are right. The longer the search key that you type, the more irrelevant the search list becomes. That is why it is important for the searcher to think of the most meaningful search key and make it shorter like one word or just 2 words otherwise you will be presented with a search list that contains things that you are not really looking for. Especially when you are searching for a person, perhaps you can qualify by adding the location or the company where he works.

In my case, I always do see what I want to see in the first page. I don't even browse the next page because it always appear on the first page. It either appear on first page or they actually have what I want on Google.
