What are the top mistakes for SEO?

Thinking you are always going to be at the top of the search for your chosen keyword(s) is a pretty big mistake. Google is always reinventing and refining the algorithm and you have to run to keep up. What would get you ranked five or ten years ago will get you in trouble now.

Being a 'me too!' blog, might be another pretty big SEO mistake. If others have already published endlessly about your topic, what new thing(s) do you have to say? If you can't say something new and are just basically rehashing what others have said, maybe just find a new niche to blog about.

Stay fresh and relevant, whatever topic you are writing about. Make it your goal to publish timeless, evergreen content that sticks around in search for years, even decades.

I didn’t know that the algorithm of search engines keeps on changing and the changes can affect the SEO capability of the site. But I’m sure the element of the quality content will always be on top of the criteria that you can never go wrong when you upload quality content regularly. That is the best advantage of bloggers because their contents are always relevant to the niche and their uploading is always on a regular basis.

I particularly see many beginners focusing 100% of the attention on image optimization and keyword insertion in the content of the pages. I believe one of the biggest mistakes is neglecting the backlinks, ie not doing backlinks or doing them with poor quality.

I believe that backlinks are account for 70% of all the success of an SEO optimization, so it is critical to do it properly.

Searching for good quality links (whether through guest post or any other mode) is key to avoiding mistakes and succeeding with your SEO strategy.

I often notice that a lot of newbies base most of their SEO skills through the tag applications they can find online. Often, these are the tags that claim to be the most "searched". The thing is, if a lot of people used those tags provided by the website, then in the end it comes down to what makes you different from other websites that have already used the same tags? The search rate is high, but so is the amount of websites using them.

I tend to also work not just on gaining backlinks but also social signals mostly Google plus . I do also get the others Facebook and Twitter I just share daily as much as I can but don't over do it in the same place as will look spammy.
Use the use of some Facebook groups with your Niche related keywords.

I think some people spam a lot. And that seems to be the mistakes of the SEO people. As you can see that some of the time backlinks and comment spam are going to affect you a lot. You should consider being in moderation. And also the black hat techniques need to be avoided. Don't buy the traffic either. You can instead buy the likes and the shares. As you can see these are some worst mistakes out there.

In my opinion the first mistake people make for SEO is doing SEO on a website and webpages will easily rank them better on search engines. The second mistake is people believe doing SEO will easily generate a huge traffic.
SEO will help you rank better and generate traffic, however, SEO does not gurantee rank and traffic.

The most common newbie mistakes in SEO are probably overusing keywords, copying other people's work (always make your own original and creative content if you ever want to succeed), broken links, not using social medias to your full advantage, you aren't consistently posting on your blog and more. These are just some that come to my mind.

I've made half of those myself so it isn't shameful to admit. We all have to make some mistakes in order to grow and learn. It's just important that you try to avoid the most common ones if you can. Just stay patient and don't rush.

The greatestmistake I'd say is not having a domain that you can call your own, tonnes of businesses receive this publication, they are locked up that still people cannot obtain them easily. Include what the user is likely to search and wants to examine it you site, attractive grammar, plain text but doesn't buff it up too much. Use compelling content that reaches out to many, don't just concentrate on search engines.

There are some common SEO mistakes that are tough to avoid. Testing optimization approaches is also difficult because you can't verify your methods in real time since search engines rules are becoming hard to predict.

When I started blogging I discovered that a "blogging graveyard" existed. What really bothered me was that I found these blogs doing a generic or organic search, I thought to myself: Incredible! These blogs are showing up in the search results and the bloggers aren't even maintaining them anymore. (O.o)

Now I don't want to sound judgemental. The fact is, some of these bloggers may have departed this world. It happens. But do you know how hard it is to get on the first 2 or 3 pages of the search results??? These bloggers managed to get there and then, for whatever reason, STOPPED BLOGGING! A new post hadn't been published for years. But I must admit the old posts were pretty good!

So maybe that was their plan. Set it and forget it.

Even though the posts are archived, those blogs are probably still generating passive income for the publishers. Ya think?

In that case, I guess it wasn't an SEO mistake.

I have read in one discussion that stuffing your content with too many keywords can backfire. It can be penalized by Google when the keywords are too many. Another mistake is the content that is not related to the niche of the website. I think the contents should always adhere to the niche just like a uniform. When there is a stray content then that can be damaging to the website regarding the SEO capability.
