5 reasons you should be using explainer videos on your websites

When it comes to generating content for your website, you need to branch out from text and images, think of explainer videos as the new wave of content marketing that you will be riding.  I'm sure that you've seen plenty of those animated explainer videos that go over how a product works or what a service does.  These videos are fairly cheap to produce and that's why a lot of people are buying them, but did you know they have a huge impact on your overall authority?

These explainer type videos can be made by a good amount of freelancers here on seocheckout.com and I'd highly suggest you check them out.  You can get anything from a basic whiteboard video explaining what you need it to, to a detailed animated video going over the entirety of your website.  You're only limited by your imagination and how much experience the freelancer has when it comes to making these videos lol.

These videos are by no means giving Stephen Spielberg a run for his money.  They are pretty basic when it comes to video editing and design, but they can help you out in many ways.  These simple explainer videos can help you increase your conversions and help reduce the amount of emails coming in through your help desk.

Explainer videos aren't anything new to online marketing, but here's a few key points on why you should be using them 5 reasons you should be using explainer videos on your websites

1. More engaging than written content
It's not secret that people love watching videos.  YouTube is all about videos and they have consistently been one of the top 5 websites in the world.  Do you think that's a coincidence?  Well it's not lol.  People prefer watching videos because they are informative and most of the population are visual learners.  So it only makes sense that videos would be a great way to get your point across or explain how something works, right?

2. They pull people in to spend more time on your pages
When someone comes into your website and has an article in front of them, they'll likely skim through it and leave.  This means that they are missing a lot of the content and will likely miss your "Subscribe" or "Buy Now" buttons.  Now if you have a video on that page which auto plays as soon as the person lands, they will be sucked in and watch the video until it's finished as long as it's compelling and interesting.

3. They help increase your sales
Having an explainer video on your homepage, or subpages, will most definitely increase your overall sales.  This is because, like mentioned in point #2, people are visual learners.  If you're telling them everything, they instantly know what is going on and what you're all about.  They will know your product is of high quality and is cheaper than your competitors, so why would they have to shop around, right?

4. They're versatile
Explainer videos can be used in so many ways and be shared pretty much anywhere.  An explainer video can go over the smallest of details about a large product and people will watch it.  I've seen an hour long video split up into 6 minute segments and cover 10 different parts of a product.  People will usually start with video #1 and watch all 10 if they are interested in the product.  This means that if you had just 1 video you would get 1 page view, but splitting it up will give you 10 page views and that's always good for conversions 5 reasons you should be using explainer videos on your websites

Explainer videos can be posted to your own website or uploaded to websites like YouTube, DailyMotion and Vimeo in order to expand your reach.  You can literally pull in traffic from all over the world by uploading your video to wherever you can 5 reasons you should be using explainer videos on your websites

5. Helps reduce help desk requests
Explainer videos help reduce the amount of emails or tickets you get coming through your helpdesk because the video answers a lot of the questions that might be getting asked.  You're basically explaining how everything works with a product or service and that means you're already answering possible questions that could arise if you just had a text based page full of content that would likely get skimmed over.

If you're thinking about using an explainer video I would suggest that you shop around seocheckout.com first to find someone that can do the best quality job.  Don't just settle for the cheapest freelancer because that never ends well if you think you're going to get a movie quality video.  Pick an averaged priced freelancer and try them out, I'm sure you'll be happy you did 5 reasons you should be using explainer videos on your websites

In Conclusion:
You can never be sure how well an explainer video, or 10, could help you out until you try them out.  Get out there and upload your videos to everywhere you can and then link back to your original post so that you get an SEO benefit and also pull in some of that sweet sweet traffic 5 reasons you should be using explainer videos on your websites

I've definitely seen an increase in these so-called explainer videos lately. I think people are finally realizing how convenient they are. Yes, it does take some time to make a quality video but it will save a lot of time in the long run.

You often see so many people asking silly questions or the questions that are already explained somewhere on your website/blog so to avoid this make an explainer video. Make sure to include everything you think it's important or may cause confusion to the consumer.

Good job listing all the pros so it's easier to see how beneficial these videos truly are.

I have done some Facebook marketing and it amazed me how much a video can really improve your sales or experience. Also, Google and other platforms are really pushing for engaging video content, so they reward users that do that by giving them more exposure. Video changed music and not online marketing!

Video content has evolved so much and I personally got used to it to such a degree, I now always check for a video when I'm visiting a new domain for the first time and don't know what is al about.
I don't want and I don't have the time to read anymore! And if I don't, I'm sure neither the rest of people online.
Video content is the future and explainer videos aren't just indicated to have, it's a MUST.

Explainer videos definitely have an impact on the audience, like you had said. They are so much more eye-opening compared to written content and they really help visual learners understand your message to the full potential. Even on other websites, I always see these explainer videos, and I'll catch myself finishing one video after another. The additional bonus that they are cheap really does motivate me to use this. I'll definitely try this out when I market online. Thanks for the great tips!

Yes! You are very right; In an increasingly digital and easy world, if you want, people seek to know the product or service you offer in the fastest and easiest way possible; You have to make sure that the videos capture the customer's attention with the information that is offered and at the same time be as minimal as possible. I think a dynamic way to do it is to put mental maps inside these videos so that clients understand or know what is offered to them in the easiest way. The time of the written publicity is passing.

This is so true! Your tips are great, the world is changing, and we are learning to be more efficient with our things, we want all the things right and quick, you need to use these tips if you want to succeed in your Blog/Vlog/Web. The videos make it very simple and interactive, I love to see videos in YouTube, then I would love to understand a web with videos, it is better if I hear and see someone than if I only read all the descriptions, it is stressful and boring!

Post very interesting!

I also think the videos are a great source of content. In addition, from my experience, videos help increase the relevancy of a page and consequently improve search engine rankings.

Another point that I think is relevant, is that many people prefer to consume content through video, than reading. So I think the videos are great to please this audience.

Videos are generally attractive and can make people spend more time on a page. Whenever possible, I produce some videos to insert into my articles and I see a big advantage in this type of content.

I never knew that explainer videos have huge advantages to improve traffic and user engagement. I will consider making explainer videos if I want to start a web hosting company. Has anyone used explainer videos recently and saw improvement with their traffic?

I highly agree with you, that we should be using videos on out websites to explain what is it about and what they are supposed to be doing..Texts aren't enough for them to understand they need a video too.

Videos Which help to expain your products are very important because oflots of thing as you stated above but also They help lazy readers to skip and keep skipping until it become shorter and easy to understand:-) Or those who want to make it short they can use videos to understand while they are doing something else. so I encorage people to use these videos because just some people don't like to read long articles.

Of course no video marketing is still the best medium in advertising. It is no news that people understand and retain what they are better that what hear or even what they read. And right people tends to believe what they can see for their eyes to what they read, this is how human is wired. We believe that visual as more authority than hear say. And lastly human are lazy, so when they can avoid doing serious work they will avoid, reading article is serious work while viewing explained video is easy.

I find explainer videos highly useful and it would be great for websites. Sometimes, people do not want to read too much. I guess it comes down to proper formatting and content. Having a proper video will definitely draw attention and make the viewer return back to the website. A good video will eliminate plenty of queries which may not be explained well in form of written responses.

Online readers are generally referred as visitors because they don't read instead they scan the content. If you cannot grab their attention in 20 seconds, they will go away. Visual media is more attractive to the online visitors than the written text. People might not read 300 word text that takes less than 2 minutes to read, but they will watch 5 minutes videos. If your website is a blog, you may not need an explainer video because your primary motive is to make your readers read. However, if you have a business website or ecommerce website, having explainer video helps.

I have to admit that videos are more engaging than written content. But my issue with videos is the short attention span of internet users. Have you made a survey on the audience of video versus written content? Most video watchers can spend an hour watching your video. But the majority of internet users don’t have that patience. And maybe it is okay with them if the video is just 30 seconds long. But for a longer video, that will not flourish against the written content.
