How to deal of thieves?

After several years as a freelancer, I noticed that the most buyers who create problems (usualy trying to steal my work or to get get refund under the bad review pressure), are from a few countries in the world. I can't name these countries because many sellers from there will consider me as racist, even if the nationality has nothing to do with racism (but many people don't know this).

The reality is that from that kind of countries, let's say I get orders from 10 buyers, only 1 or maximum 2 buyers are honest buyers, while the rest of 9 or 8 buyers are trying to steal my work (and this rule is available for most sellers, not only for me). If you reject their orders, many are creating new profiles usually with proxies from US, and they order again.

If some sellers will write in their services description that they don't accept orders from some countries, then they risk to be sanctioned with an infraction or/and considered as racists, even if Ebay and a lot of other websites are banning some countries for years (usually with a message like: your profile is a risk for our customers).

Has anybody any idea what can we do with buyers from these countries? To avoid their orders without risking to be penalized by Seocheckout for reasons like racism (even if it has nothing to do with a nation)?

I have to confirm this issue and i don't like to name these countries, but i have to deal with this kind of buyers everyday. Something has to be done to protect the sellers here. If you ask me, what they do is resell elsewhere, then after we do the work for them, they simply reject it, no matter what you do.

Also, as you have said, those buyers are from the same 3 countries, that i wouldn't like to name too, as i also have clients from there, but the majority of them are just abusing the platform.

Let's listen what others have to say about this.

I have seen my content getting stolen and people reusing them. I have found lot of my content is being reused on youtube too. So it all comes down to how you're making use of the content and protecting it. Soon it'd be safer to make use of the paid tutorials website and make people pay for it. I have struggled the most with the thieves. And I am going ahead with the pay or subscription model now.

Well, this surely does raise some controversy, but I believe that proper answer here would lie in both community and Seocheckout ratings. Seocheckout could easily pretend to be buyers on certain shady dealers and see what it is all about. If not for rating, at least for approval. Although, having some ratings from Seocheckout on certain matters would be a nice thing to see as well

This is complete news to me. How big of a problem is this issue? Does this problem happen often or is it just out of the blue. I do wish I knew what nations you were referencing to try and avoid marketing there.

If we write the name of these countries, then we'll be considered as racists... Start selling something cheap and in just a few weeks you'll find these countries.

These type of people are everywhere. You can find them on YouTube. You can find them on many other places. As you can see that those people just steal content or any deliverable. And they just move on to make money they think it's fair to steal content from others. So that's a bad stuff going on. This can be bad that many people have lost their gigs on fiverr and other places.

I've seen a lot of it, I've even been a victim of people who stole materials of my own.

On one occasion, I created a free Excel spreadsheet and share it on my blog for my readers to download at no cost.

Modestia part, the spreadsheet was a great success and I discovered that one person had downloaded and was selling the same spreadsheet on another site, similar to Ebay.

I ended up reporting the seller and the site removed my spreadsheet.

As a lesson, I am always aware of possible cases like this. Theft of content really is something very serious. I've even thought about creating my own digital product, but I'm not really excited about the idea, because I know a lot of people who run courses for $ 300.00 and in a few months people appear selling the same course (stolen) for about $ 10.00 . It really is a tricky subject.

Unfortunately I've been a victim of my own for scams like these but you live and learn I guess. There's nothing we can do except to filter out the ones that seem shady - some are still going to fall through the cracks but the risk level involved is lower.

Well,it unfortunate that the activities of some people online would lead to a bad name given to a country or trying to ban such county or countries but I want us to realize that it sometimes good to deal with an individual than the whole nation because in the process you'll also be dealing with very innocent citizens.

The best bet is to very careful when making sales or running your business and remember anyone from a country can be a thief,so one has to be very careful than banning the whole country.

Today I've just got another infraction for "refusing to answer" to a buyer who I considered he tried to steal my work (every time a buyer start with specific questions, I learned over years that later he will as refund = steal my work).

Actually I just told to the buyer that he can find the answer in the service description. Then he reported me and as always, the buyer won.

I'm very worried what is happening with Seocheckout staff, because actually they are censoring the freedom of speach, because it's not first time when I get an infraction because speacking directly and the wide to the buyer, some members of Seocheckout staff consider it RUDENESS from my side.

I don't know what to do and what to say with troublemakers and theifs (buyers), because every time I find a suspicious profile and I reject the order, the buyer can report me and I might get another infraction. Also, I noticed that some suspicious buyers (almost all new accounts from some "countries") threaten me that they report me to Customer Support because I reject their orders. They learned that in Seocheckout exists a vulnerability that can be exploited via Customer Support (reporting the seller) to force the seller to do free work (after the order start, later they ask refund).

Also, they (thief buyers) learned that the best targets are sellers with excellent ratings (usually Level 4, Level 5 and Level X).

I'm sure that Seocheckout is loosing a lot of money due to this kind of buyers (the most common way: they order for a few tens or hundreds of dollars, then they ask refund via paypal after 1 or even 2 months), but I can't explain why the Customer Support prefere to protect these kind of buyers against efforts of sellers to reject the orders of potential scammers or troublemakers.

I am sorry to hear that you had to work with such kind of people. I totally hate plagiarists and scammers. I think that you must talk to buyers coming from those risky countries before taking up their work. Maybe from the conversation you will be able to find out whether they are genuine or not.

Over here, the best safeguard against scamming buyers is the deposit to the bank account. When the buyer makes an order, the seller requires him to deposit the cost of the product to the bank account of the seller before the seller ships the product to the buyer. With that arrangement, there is no way that the buyer can scam the seller because of the money-down scheme. But using other means of remittance is not reliable because the scammers have surely studied on how to go around it already.
