Everyone wants to become an authority, but not many think that blogging to become an authority is a thing. I'm not talking about building backlinks to your own website through guest blogging. I'm talking about you building an authority blog over the years and becoming the best source of knowledge in order for someone to learn. When you hear that someone is a blogger you always think that they are a small fish in a big sea, but you may not realize that some of them are making $75,000 or more each month from their little blogs lol.
Example:
I was recently reading over a blog and didn't believe anything I was reading until I started to do an SEO audit on his blog. All of his stats were high and he was getting a good amount of traffic. I couldn't see how many subscribers he had, but he claimed it was over 400,000 which is pretty amazing. With that many subscribers who actively read your content via emails, you pretty much have a money faucet that you can turn on whenever you want lol.
Some of you are asking "Well how did he make money? Was it from ads?" and I have to say No, because I never saw a single ad on his blog. He did however have plenty of affiliate links aimed at whatever he had been talking about at the moment. The odd thing about his affiliate links is that he didn't try to get someone to click and then hopefully get a sale as an affiliate. He told people that they were affiliate links by saying it was an affiliate link. Now normally you can just hover over an affiliate link and see the aff ID which is a dead giveaway. This guy however put (Affiliate Link) after each link that he made a commission off of when someone clicked through. I think there is a beauty in this because he is opening himself up to let people know he makes money if they buy something, and it seems that people are more willing to make a purchase if they know this. It also build credibility for you and your blog because you're an open book when it comes to how you're making money.
Another way he made money was by having a limited learning course for 10 people a month. Now you're asking "10 people a month and he's making $75,000+ wtf?" and yeah, I thought the same thing. I did a little more research and it seems that the online course goes for $15,000 a year and he guarantees that he will help you build your first 10,000 subscribers within that year. This means you could be making 10,000 sales or getting that amount of emails through your capture forms. Either way, that's not a bad deal because you can usually capitalize off of opt in email subscribers
Since this guy has so many people subscribed to his newsletter, he can literally send out a notice that his system is going to be open and he will be accepting 10 more applicants and BOOM he makes $75,000 or more lol. Of course this takes a lot of work throughout the year, but building a 10,000 subscriber list isn't difficult if you have them paying $15,000+ for your courses lol.
