What the Fidget is a Fidget Spinner and Why do I need one?

One of the latest trending crazes to jump on right now is the Fidget Spinner which is just basically a small hand held mechanical gadget plaything that has a bearing in the middle and it spins around in a kind of hypnotic and mesmerising but soothing way and were created actually first actually created because of that to help kids to focus but have now gone on (ironically) to become banned from being used in some schools!

And they are a toy that is sweeping the nation right now amongst many kids in America and the rest of the world plays catchup and has to have one the must have toys and gadgets. Kinda of like the YoYo or the GameBoy or even like those Furby or Hatchimals but more something that any age can get in on in some way or another.

Because trying to find where to buy one of these isn't so easy right now and there's a lot of demand but not much supplier of it. Although you can get them on Amazon for about $15 bux. And maybe with this demand for it there is some opportunity for someone to make some coin from it you know how it goes with these things.

I'm not sure it will last that long though. I mean, it's just a toy at the end of the day and doesn't really do anything on its own lol. And actually, fidget spinners were first invented many decades ago as long back as ball bearings were but it's only since gone on to become a real phenomenom for 2017 after the patent for it expired.

And some more info for you about it, about the inventor, a she, isn't making anything from the trending craze of the fidget spinner and isn't worried or bitter about it. I guess some people are just happy with the knowledge they created something that made things like moving parts easier to make happen and joy to some kids at one point in time.

But just like any hot trending crazy over some new exciting toy, there are sellers tripping over each other to clamber up and find ways to make money and profits from it.

But yeah, I just wanted to share with you about the Fidget Spinner. I'm sure you've already seen of it by now!

What do you think of the Fidget Spinner toy / craze / trend?

Do you have one? lol What the Fidget is a Fidget Spinner and Why do I need one?

Damn Mike, are you stalking me? I bought one on Tuesday, haha. I got influenced by my friend and I have to admit it's crazy fun and quite relaxing to spin that little thing. I find myself spinning it while walking on the road or watching TV.

I paid $14.99 so I guess it isn't too bad. It's one of those fancy blue colored ones that doesn't have a standard shape.

They have been banned in some U.S schools though. I think the kids were modifying it and turning it into a more ''cool, dangerous'' version.

Yes, this is a tool to occupy the ADD generation. Instead of bouncing off walls or losing focus in 60 seconds, the fidget spinner keeps them calm and (somewhat) focused. Some Corporations are allowing their employees to use them while they are working or in meetings. The employers feel this will calm down their minds and help them to focus with their daily tasks. All I know is, I need to know how to make these fidget spinners or find a really good supplier and make Fidget Millions! lol

Although the fidget spinner seemed to have lost its appeal by now, I still want to share my thoughts. The purpose of the fidget spinner, as the name implies, is to neutralize the nervousness. When you feel edgy then use the fidget spinner to relax you. That’s the same effect when you use a stress ball. And the stress ball is better because you get to exercise your fingers and your wrist.

Well to begin, fidgeting is the of action of small movement with your hands and feet. Primarily due to nervousness or impatience. So the concept of "fidget" toys have been around for quite some time actually.

Those who are old enough remember the Fidget Cube! A series of buttons and knobs to push, twist, and turn that did essentially nothing. According to research, Cathrine A. Hettinger is the creator of the fidget spinner. Apparently, she patented the idea back in mid-1993, created the concept and pitched it to manufacturers. In 1997, Cathrine was able to establish connections with the Vice President of the company "Hasbro". Unfortunately, they did not see the creativity in it. Ultimately this led to her patent expiring in 2005 after Catherine failed to pay the $600 renewal fee. Following the years after, different manufacturers began making their own versions of the modern popular toy today. The trend, however, would only gain popularity in early 2017 when fidget spinners began popping up in work offices, schools, and other places for the young and old.

To confirm, yes essentially this is a toy meant for people who suffer from attention deficit disorder. Though it has been given mixed reviews. Some people claim it helps them focus better, while others expressed they get highly distracted with the toy. This has sadly led to certain schools in the United States banning the toy altogether.

Simply put, the fidget spinner is an interesting trend that's gonna come and go...

Well, to me I think that the fidget spinner is overrated. It's something that just spins and I know people say it's relieve stress but these are targeted towards young kids, and I'm pretty sure young kids don't have stress.

Yes, this is a device to involve the ADD era. Rather than skipping off dividers or losing center in 60 seconds, the wriggle spinner keeps them quiet and (to some degree) centered. A few Corporations are enabling their representatives to utilize them while they are working or in gatherings. The businesses feel this will quiet down their brains and help them to center with their day by day errands. All I know is, I have to know how to make these squirm spinners or discover a better than average provider and make Fidget Millions! lol

This is true, fidgeting helps me focus. For some reason, it stimulates something in my brain that makes me seem more interested in the activity I;m currently doing, it doesn't even have to be a fidget spinner, but just to fidget in general. I often find myself using random stuffs from my desk like a small eraser or a slide-toggle usb stick.

Well, this is enlightening and thought-provoking. I have been watching the fidget craze for a while. I made the conclusion it is something for people with extra cash to throw around. people say it allow them stay focused, I can't attest to that because I don't have anyone here using it and to me, it is out of reach.

Oh, the ever so controversial fidget spinner. It seems that most people are either totally in love with them, or want to eradicate every last spinner off the face of the planet. I personally am in the middle, and don't have any strong feelings one way or the other. To me it is just a trendy toy. There are a lot of people who think fidget spinners are actually bad for you and should be banned, but I feel like those people are giving them way too much credit. I remember growing up in the 90's and yo-yos became super trendy and popular. These fads come and go, and there is no need to get overexcited, in my opinion.

I don't have one but my nephew bought about five spinners. Many people are crazy about spinners over here and the businessmen are very happy about this and making a lot of profit by selling those spinners. What I have heard is that spinners can help in reducing anxiety and stress and I tried spinning this toy but it had no effect on me. I am wondering whether this is really helping people suffering from anxiety disorders.

It was in a street market in Hongkong where I first saw a fidget spinner. The vendor couldn’t speak good English that’s why we had a hard time understanding each other on what the product is all about. And when I understood that it is called fidget spinner which is like a toy and nothing more, I did not buy. What I use is the stress ball which is more beneficial since it gives exercise to my fingers. I have a stress ball in the car which I always use during a heavy traffic. I haven’t used a fidget spinner because for me, it is a silly toy.
