In todays world you need to have specific deadlines and goals if you're a small business. If you're just going with the wind then you probably won't be very successful in the end. Deadlines will help you achieve your goals because they will keep you on track. Whether it is a simple thing like adding images or content to your website or setting up an entirely new website to target a different niche, you need to keep on track or fall behind and not hit your goals.
Setting Deadlines:
All of your deadlines won't be the same because you will have various things going on and each of them will take a different amount of time. You'll need to be realistic when setting deadlines because you'll just get stressed out if you're consistently not hitting them on time and failing constantly in your own head even though you should still have some time left.

However, I will say this, when I am working to meet my goals and deadlines, I work for hours on end and get a lot of accomplished. I think I need to create tiny goals, and go from there to see how much I can get done without being mentally exhausted. Sometimes I get so mentally exhausted that I just don't go on the internet for a while, or if I do I stick to Youtube, or watch movies. Things that don't need brain power as it were.
Right now I have a goal of getting my MMORPG game 'off the ground'. It is doing well, new players every couple of days and some active players but I know I can do better. The thing with me is, is that I create unrealistic goals, and/or deadlines. I just can't help it. I always have to push myself so hard that I don't get motivated to do anything anymore and will procastinate until I am ready to work again. Happens like clockwork and I can not seem to break out of the cycle. I get so tired from trying to meet my own deadlines and goals that I just eventually give up.
