I've been thinking about this for a while and I've wanted to set up a Commercial quality YouTube video for an upcoming product launch I have. I will use the video for promotions as well as put it into my SEO and backlinking campaign. I can add the video to all the video hosting platforms like YouTube, Vimeo and so on, but how do I get something of high quality without breaking the bank?
I've been talking with a few service providers but they all claim to have the best service and then they show me white board videos lol. I want this video to have live actors in it and be in 9,000,000p 
(I know that's not a real thing). The few companies that I did get in touch with, who had the quality I wanted, were charging $40,000 for a 3 minute video, ugh
I know that it would be much cheaper to just go out and purchase a really nice video camera with a steady cam chest piece and shoot it myself, but I'm not a video guru so I don't know exactly what I would need. Do I just buy the most expensive camera I can afford and hope for the best? Or would you have any recommendations of what I could buy? I've seen some amazing videos shot on the newest iPhone, which I'm tempted to get anyway, but is it a cheaper alternative to the $5,000 video cameras I can buy online? Will the iPhone do the job or will I need something more beefy like the $5,000 camera?
I already have actors in place when I'm ready to go ahead with this. Some are my friends and are going to do it for free because they love meeeee or they owe me money lol. A couple of the actors I've been talking to only want a few hundred bucks for the entire process, which I think is a steal since they could easily charge me a few grand for their work. But the people I'd be paying are recommendations from my friends who will also be in the video, so they basically told their friends they'd be helping me out. Remember the ones who owed me money.... they're the friends who got me cheap actors lmao
So in the end, I don't want to spend $15,000 on a 3 minute video that may not even work. I wouldn't care if this video cost me 1k to 3k, but any more than that might not please my accountant at the end of the year when we do taxes
Any recommendations would be welcomed, even if you're just pointing me in a direction of someone who can help

I think you may not need directors or companies, if you can discuss and plan it with your friends, get few shots and show them to your other friends and upload the best video.
If your product sells well, then you can use that money to make the commercial......
But you better get advice from a person who at least know a bit about the subject
Best wishes.... So to give it a go, you can do it with your iPhone i guess. But the video quality should be good. I think you may not need directors or companies, if you can discuss and plan it with your friends, get few shots and show them to your other friends and upload the best video.
