How to use Google Webmasters Tools?

Google has a lot of cool tools which helps you a lot in your SEO campaign. But the one that is the most useful is the Google Webmasters Tools. It is like your best weapon in the SEO arena.
So, what is it? Simply saying, it gives you an insight of how Google views your site. It tells you what pages are indexed on your site, what links are pointing to your site and what are the most popular keywords that are on your site. It helps you to plan out your SEO strategy in the most effective way.
At its core, Google Webmasters tools tell you what’s getting indexed, what’s getting links and what’s getting traffic. So, after completing your site you login to the Google Webmasters and get familiar with the interface.
First of all get familiar with the search queries which are divided into various parts as-
*Query-It gives you quick details about whether your effort to rank your site for a particular keyword is working or not. Ranking here means whether they are visible on the search engine results page or not.
*Impressions-This tells you about how many people are actually seeing your site for a specific keyword search on the search engine or viewing the specific sections of your website like any image,vedio,map or any other information.
*Clicks-So your site is indexed in the search engines are visible to people. But how many people are clicking onto it or taking action to visit your site. This section will tell you.
*CTR-The ‘Click through Rate’ is the section which tells you about the rate at which people are taking action to visit your site from the search engines results page. If this is low then you should immediately try to improve your metadescription.
*Average Position-It tells you the ranking of your site for a particular keyword. Since the vast majority of the traffic goes to the top three sites. It is very important to see how your site is performing for a particular keyword.
*Viewing Data With Change- This will be helpful for you as it will tell you how your site has performed over the time or whether your newly applied SEO strategy is working or not.
*Viewing each keyword with details-This will help you know which pages of your site are ranking for that keyword and help you to understand the overall results for you SEO campaign.
