Advertising in Magazines/booklets. Have anyone done it?

I get these so called "reklamblad" in my snail mail. It's basically a booklet with decent products at sort of great prices.

Anything from kitchen knifes to furniture and anything from curtains to shoes.

Literally anything and everything can be found in these things. I get this about once per month. Don't ask me why because I've never asked for it.

Anyhow, what I was thinking was this..

It's probably like 50 different companies who's advertising their products in these booklets. One company makes the booklets and they also handle the incoming orders, in case you decide to order something.

So, how about advertising in these sort of things? - Sure, I won't be able to advertise SEO services but what if I had physical products?

Do you have any experience at all regarding these things?

Let me know!

I personally advertised in a magazine once and it didn't really give me an extra sales so I don't buy advertisement from magazines anymore. However, I think it is worth it if you have a very good and unique product. Maybe my product was just not very appealing.

I have never advertised in such magazines or booklets because i dont think that prospertive buyers will visit such places when they need an SEO expert or freelancers to run thier online business and i dont think it is a very right place to invest to get sales. but if i see anyone that somehow relates to getting traffic visitors to his online business, then i may place an advert on thier magazine via thier website on thier website.

Once we published an advert for a service we used to offer on a newspaper and on a magazine. It did not prove to be very effective. Compared to the response we got for this same service when we published online adverts, where we got a lot of interest, it is evident that it seems that lately there is no comparison between the physically published adverts, and the online ones. Besides, most magazines that are printed are also available in digital format, and I for one tend to see the digital format rather than go over the physical ones.

I have advertised once, in a flyer, or something along the lines of the ValPack. It was advertising based solely upon the residents of the city. The advertisements were not mine, but someone else's advertisements that they asked me if I could add to the mailer. The person who wanted me to add the advertisement asked if I ever added it in, and I did. The results were not good at all, there we not any leads, or calls for the product that was advertised.

I'm not so certain what happened with that advertisement, but I added it exactly as the guy told me to.. so I'm thinking that method of advertising is not very effective as it once was in the past.I would not advertise in a mailer at any time in the future unless I wanted to waste my money.

When it comes to this type of marketing im not beginner. I myself have not advertised in any magazines but i offer slots for people t do so. We have slots available in XXL, Source, Hip Hop Stardom, and Hype Magazine always available. We offer 1/3 size all the way up to full pages for anybody who has the money to spend. Some magazines we can even give you a front page cover. I love this type of marketing because its guaranteed a certain amount of people will buy this magazine when it comes out.

I have advertized my web design skills in the local paper a few times. Actually got some long term clients by doing this, both businesses relationships ended badly in the end, but what can I say, I did make some money out of it.

Also, why don't you contact the magazines themselves and offer them online services? Most of them have an email to contact them by or a website, it worth the try! I would also try contacting the companies advertized in those magazines! They clearly need exposure and I'm sure they'll always need more of it online.
