So this question is an easy one. - It's all about marketing and how you would advertise a marketplace.. And how you would rank it.
For instance, let's say you have a webshop, basically a one page website/blog with "buy now" buttons literally everywhere for different kind of merchandises. No articles whatsoever.
My main business is brand building and I've been doing that for a few years now so I know how I could potentially market and advertise something like this, but I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas from you as well. - I mainly use forums, blogs and social media for brand building, which I would obviously do in this sort of scenario too, but other than that..?
And perhaps the most important thing. How would you be able to rank such a website?
Best Regards,

The best thing you can do to understand how Google ranks marketplaces is to look at the competition that actually ranks. Look for what keywords they are ranking what type of on-page technical elements they had implemented and how exactly is the content structured. Don't forget to loom for certain unusual triggers such as buttons, start ratings, comments, reviews, etc.
You can also expand your ranking potential by having a blog section of a CD section like we have here, it basically brings organic traffic on content, not on specific services. When it comes to rankings marketplaces are a whole different animal compared to a normal websites, blog or even an online store. Google will have different ranking signals for online marketplaces like SC for example.
