Online Ezines/Newsletters are Good for SEO

You can get a good backlink from an ezine? Yes or no? Here's my point of view.

If the Ezine is only being emailed out to subscribers, then the link isn't going to provide any link juice...only traffic.

If it is based online as well *and* the links are do-follow lniks, then yes, it will help.

Well most of the SEO is done to get organic traffic! So getting traffic from ezines and newsletters is same traffic you would be looking for, then why not to use that

It's actually shortcut to organic traffic in compare to doing so much SEO work for your blog or business website and every source of quality visitors is welcome.

Well if it is an online magazine then of course you would get SEO juice from that. If it is only an email being sent out then of course you can get traffic, which won't directly have an effect on your SEO.

However the way I see it visitors can have an effect on SEO. If a visitor spends a nice amount of time on your website, looks at lots of content and leaves comments on your website all these things will indicate to the search engines that your website has quality content that visitors enjoy and engage with....

If the content is gated is some way, like perhaps you need to login into an account to read that specific content, then yes, no real link value will be gained because Google's crawling robots won't see your link. On the other hand closed communities based articles can drive a lot of traffic, especially the big ones so you won't lose much.

Don't know much about Ezines and their newsletter, can you click on a link in that email that directs you to a URL? If that URL is not blocked by robots or tagged as NoIndex you are good to go in your link building campaign so comment away!

If the e-zine has a lot of regular readers in the thousands then I guess that is a good source of traffic if you can place your backlink there. I have been reading an e-zine on entertainment and an article that is controversial always gets hundreds of comments. Yeah, I also read the comments sometimes although I never clicked on their profile but I’m sure there are readers who check on the site of the poster.
