Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

Recently I've hired a few people to do some posts for me on Yahoo! answers and I was suppose to get a live link aimed at my website either within the post itself or as a "resource" of where the post was learned from.

After about 2 days of the services being active I was getting PMs from the sellers saying that they could not post live links anymore due to Yahoo! answers changing their Terms of Service. When I heard this I decided to start doing some research on how I could still get my links on Yahoo! answers.

Here is what I figured out...

There are a total of 7 levels within yahoo! answers and you obviously start out at level 1. Level 1 accounts are the newbies and level 7 accounts are the elites. It would take an extremely long time to achieve level 7, but that's not my main goal since I can post live links with a level 3 account Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

The account levels are based on a point system. The more points you have accumulated, the higher the level you can get to, obviously. But how do you get those points?

Below is an image of how you can gain points within Yahoo! answers and increase your profiles level.

As you can see, just joining Yahoo! answers will get you a bonus of 100 points, which is pretty awesome. It seems they want people who are professionals in their field because asking a question will actually take points away from you, which is kind of ridiculous if you ask me. The best way to get points is to get your answers chosen as the "Best Answer" for the question. To do this you have to get in depth with your answer and post a good amount of information.

Now a lot of you are asking "Well, how many points does it take to level up?" and that's a good question!

I was browsing around and doing my research because I wanted to know the answer to that very question. I found out that you need a large amount of points to be a level 7 but that is a long term goal. You start off at level 1 and to get to level 2 you only need 250 points Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. To get to level 3 you need 1,000 which takes a little more time to get. It seems that you really need to grind to gain your levels.

Below is an image of the levels and how many points you need to level up.

With each level up you can see that you'll get more questions, answers, and follows. This allows you to essentially gain more points and level up quicker. But if you look at it, at level 4 you stall out at 160 answers a day which will gain 320 points a day if you do all of them and don't get any of your answer chosen as the "Best Answer".

Lets say you get 10% of your answers chosen as the best answer and you get all 160 answers posted each day. You will get 16 of your answers giving you a bonus of 160 points added to your account with a total of 480 points per day.

Starting off is the slowest progression of your levels, so you need to stick with it. If you were to just grind for 2 months you could get to level 7 within that time. But who has all that time on their hands lol Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. I would shoot for 6 months to be at level 7 just so you don't go stir crazy lmao.

Good share Razzy!
This is what I used to do previously to get some Seocheckout affiliates. I bought some yahoo accounts and answered related questions with my affiliate id. Most of my accounts got suspended within a few days, but at that time, I'd already got several affiliates Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

The only thing I had to keep in mind, was to buy Level 2 accounts. I haven't used Yahoo for a very long time now so it's possible they've changed the rules by now, but at that point, you needed a Level 2 account to post links or sources.

Thanks for sharing this in-depth. Great work!

is it that you postede the Seocheckout affiliate links directly on the yahoo answers? or has yahoo joined facebook to now ban Seocheckout links from its site? or is it because yahoo noticed that you were spamming the link all over the yahoo answers forum in order to get affiliates? what exactly do you think was your offense? s it spamming or the link itself?

It could be a bunch of various things, but I'm sure it's because of the affiliate link itself. Not many websites allow people to push affiliate links on their websites if someone is asking a question and wants a legitimate answer. Seeing an affiliate link just shows that someone is trying to push that user to the specific site to make a sale.

Affiliate marketing is getting tougher and tougher each day Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

I shared my affiliate id directly as a source and in multiple yahoo answers per day, so I guess people reported those posts, which ultimately ended up with a ban on my accounts. After that, I used a redirect from "seocheckouts.com" which I owned at the time, and I could use that instead, for awhile, before people realised it was just a redirect. ;)

Yeah, I would assume that a lot of platforms don't want to see affiliate links posted around their websites Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. It's like "Hey, here's some good info *wink*wink*" lol Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

I was thinking of purchasing a level 2 or 3 account but I'm always worried that I'll get locked out of it by the seller just changing the passwords or it getting banned due to a new IP logging into it. For example, the email/account was made in India and all the posts were from an IP in India, but all of a sudden there are new posts coming from a US IP address lol Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

Thanks Razzy, so you need to be a level 3 to be able to post links? But you will obviously need to be very careful about how you post those links otherwise you will receive a violation?

I am assuming that posting your own website links too often and being spammy about it would result in a violation on Yahoo answers? What about affiliate links? Are you allowed to post those or will you receive a violation?

I guess if you are a level 7 you could sell Yahoo answers here and make money from doing that? I'm not sure I have the patience to get to level 7 LOL

From what I've read so far, you need to be at least level 3 in order to post live links. I'm not sure if that's 100% true or not because it's just what people are saying on forums and on skype. I've looked all over yahoo and it says level 3, but who knows how long it takes them to update their pages with factual information lol.

Posting the same links over and over will definitely look spammy, so you should try to mix it up. Luckily I have around 20 websites in about 12 different niches so I can post all of them and be diversified Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. I also post helpful information with no links just so it looks like I'm not just trying to get backlinks from their answer platform.

Getting to level 7 would take an insane amount of work, but would definitely be worth it because you can guarantee live links on your posts Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. People will see "I can post live links on Yahoo! answers from a level 7 account for $XX" and they'll just throw money at you lmao Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

Nice share Razzy! I used to do a lot of Yahoo Answers, I even had a level 5 account, which of course I got banned for promoting SC (among others).
BUT Yahoo Answers seems really deserted lately, I've tried building new account but I wasn't even able to upload myself a profile picture, I don't know what happened with that place but Yahoo really managed to screw up a very big community.
Back in the day you could get like 2 points just by linking other people responses, so getting to level 2 took like 2-3 days. Now for a level 3 account, you must work a lot and put a lot of effort into it, only to get banned few days later after posting your first links.

Wow, a level 5 account Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. I wish I had that haha Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

I've seen people posting "I'm only here for the 2 points" and they actually get their post to stick, which is extremely sad. They're literally posting crap just to boost their levels, and it looks like it's working. Hopefully Yahoo! gets it act in order and starts filtering out these spammy posts/people so my posts can be seen even more Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic.

I am worried that I'll hit level 3 and unlock the feature that allows me to post live links and then I get banned right away because I post something they don't like Posting to Yahoo answers and gaining traffic. I'll probably just stick with bigger websites like cnn.com and huffingtonpost.com when I do unlock the feature, and if I do post about my own websites it will be within a list of websites the user needs.

Yes yahoo answers is a pretty much active community. Not only you will get traffic to your websites (20 of them) but at the same time you will also get to know about the latest trend on internet which in my opinion is quite great. Using these trends you can start new internet business for yourself.
Good luck

That's great to know that on how one can get to scale through the policy changes of Yahoo as regards when one can get their link to the Yahoo answers site. I will definitely try to move up the level as well and see how it will go.

Yahoo Answers is a very dynamic website and for sure there are people reading your posts there. What’s good in Yahoo Answers is that your post is all about learning something and on the side, you get the traffic as added benefit. But then again, your post should be sensible and not just a way to gain visibility. Besides, if your posts are always of good quality, readers will remember you and that would be good for your cause.
