Are you recording your visitors?

There are some free analytics tools that allows you to record everything what your visitors are doing to your site, I’m sure that most of you know what I’m talking about, for those who don’t , it’s just the same thing as other analytics tools that you use to collect details about : browsers, referrers, screen size, location, ip etc. Of course that everyone can use them, as using those tools can help you to improve your site and know which section is being visited mostly. Now I just wonder if you’re using them, or used them, and did you find them useful for your site?

I have only ever used Google Analytics before but I don't really look at much except for the amount of traffic and where it came from.

I would love to have more in-depth reporting so that I can see more details about my visitors, I find that Google Analytics is just not the best for this. The thing I would love to see more of is details about my organic traffic but those visitors it mostly just says that the information is not available.

Thanks Mike that information regarding StatCounter, that looks really handy and I might make use of them!

StatCounter still around? I used it before I've switched to Google Analytics and from my point of view GA is the best tool out there for traffic statistics, can really help most SEOs out there to notice certain weak or strong patterns and optimize everything accordingly.

Heat Analytics is another tool I sometimes use for getting a better picture of how users interact with a website's design and structure.

I had the impression that Google Analytics was the best, or at least one of the best tools. But from what I read here it seems that it is not that helpful, and there are other tools one can use. Getting such information can be really helpful for site owners, and it is important to look into the results or reports in depth so as to use that data for corrective actions and more informed decision making.

Hi procoder thanks for your question. Yes I record visitors activity for my all website. And I think this is very importance for any webmaster to know who and how a visitors come his site and from where? Thank you can make plan for website how well you done job for. I only used Google analytic as free tools and I do not feel useful other analytic rather than Google analytic. For authentic information and real time report Google analytic is best and effective for research everything. And you can track traffic by many non premium tools but they never give you correct report and it is tested to me.
