One of my biggest fears as an SEO is the fact that Google may at one point restrict access to Adwords Keyword Planner only for accounts that have active campaigns.
Meaning you pretty much need to invest something in Adwords to actually use Keyword Planner. And that's pretty much the worst that can happen to SEOs that don't have the money or don't need to have active Adwords campaigns.
Is Google restricting Keyword Planner?
Well, It seems like it. Today (9 of August 2016) there had been numerous reports of people getting a certain error when trying to use the Keyword Planner.
Some users had contacted Google Adwords about this issue and they said: "they'll check it out". This comes after I personally had problems with Google Keyword Planner for months now! Things are working as they should and I get tons of errors.
I think Google may plan a restriction in the new future but makes me wonder on how everything will work after something like this.
Would I be able to search as much as I want without a limit to a certain niche my active campaign is related too?
What will happen if I'll find some away around this by setting up a bogus campaign that is never displayed properly thus I always have it active with available funds.

I wonder if they do push this too far if I can just set up a basic campaign and bid a ridiculously low amount in order to meet the criteria of "having an active campaign" lol I could set up an ad for a competitive niche and big $2.01 per click. If I get clicks and a sale, that's awesome But I would really be setting this up for the sole reason of using the keyword planner.
Even if they set it up like this, which is seems they're moving forward to do so, I wonder if you could game the system like how I said above this. There's no real keyword planner out there that is extremely accurate, and if Google does this, it will open up the opportunity for someone to make a lot of money. I say that because someone could program a keyword planner, and if it were accurate, people would pay good money for it. I know that I would drop $45 to $75 per month on something like this if I couldn't use keyword planner. If Google makes it so that you have to hit a certain spending limit each day in order to see advanced options of the keyword planner, I'll be pissed
First opensiteexplorer gets taken down and now I won't be able to use googles keyword planner???? What is this world coming to lol Oh man, this would suck.
