Ok so I was talking to a buddy of mine , and he was telling me about how had just came home with a new smart tv now me I got your regular hd flat screen tv I have about a 50 inch in my living room but never mind the size I didn't really understand why he bought it he went on to mention about how he is able to hook his tv up to the Internet and stream from Netflix and Hulu and all types of other apps now I have an Xbox so streaming isn't really my concern are there any good reasons why people think so highly of these tv's I personally think they might a bit over rated and over priced

However, it just appears that the smart television removes the need for a gaming console or an Amazon Fire Stick as you can directly connect to a Wifi internet connection. Smart TVs are outrageously priced, but are getting cheaper and cheaper as the technology gets older. So I tend to just buy when they are cheap as dirt, and when I can actually afford the new technology. I think it all comes down to have the latest technology available. I don't have a smart television however I can still watch Netflix, and do just about anything on a regular old flat screen TV via an Amazon Fire Stick, or by your method which is a gaming console. It's much cheaper to buy the flat screen TV that isn't "smart" and to use a gaming console to connect to the internet.
