Have you ever entered an SEO contest/competition? And won? Or just taken part anyway just for the crack of it? Would you be interested in entering an SEO contest to see who can get the most affiliates or earnings from one individual campaign?
Would you take part? What would make a good thing to do anyone can do to make a good SEO contest? With the winner being determined after a set period of time by how many affiliates, affiliate sales or sales they got.
But we all have to be doing the same thing. Using the same method.
That way everyone could take part or more people can enter it.
Push Judgment day to about 12 months up now until New Years Eve. That way, the winner will have something else to celebrate and it's just the perfect day. So that's happening!
I mentioned this in a post the other day about how we should run a competition of some sort as a way to get us really motivated and dedicated to the task which would help us because it can be hard getting into something if you don't have the time or skills even which you can gain and learn by doing that one thing you can't do. Much like doing SlideShare Presentation Marketing which is something anyone can do and tap into and it' perfect for this as well as you can post marketing type presentations to SlideShare.
So the competition I'm thinking of starting will be for to see who can get the most affiliates and how much those affiliates get and how many sales they got for their own services from their marketing efforts on SlideShare and sites like it.
That way, if they're all doing the same thing, it would be fair on everyone and would be down to the persons skills and talents that decided the winner.
Would you be interested in taking part in a competition like this?
Even if you didn't win, you'd still pick up a few skills and probably some affiliates at the same time!
Discuss!!
Let's talk about the rules, the implications.
And anything else you can think of that would apply to doing this.

The competition I was in was a 12 month one and there was no pay out to the winner. You were basically doing the work for a chance to win bragging rights. There was no money, not even a trophy to show you won. There was a forum post on a popular forum letting people know you won this years competition and you were "Elite". I was in it to win it for the first 3 months and I was destroying the competition from the get go. I did what I knew would rank my website for the keywords we were suppose to target and no one could touch me. A lot of people set up one website and did an SEO and Marketing campaign for it. What I did was set up 11 websites then optimized and marketed them all. One of the websites was the one I entered into the competition and the other 10 were set up to be a king of buffer site. I treated them all like my babies and eventually I held 8 of the top 10 listings for the keywords we were suppose to rank for lol Now 7 of my 8 listings didn't matter because they weren't in the competition, but the website at #1 was the one I entered
I pissed off a lot of people within the first few months and eventually got burned out because I was doing all this work for no reward. My effort was better put into my clients websites, and that's what I did. I withdrew from the competition because I already proved myself. Everyone was extremely excited and began to move around in the rankings after I was done. What's funny is that my main website was still on the first page after the competition was over It was ranked #6 or something like that. I've done an SEO competition before but it gets boring because they are usually pretty long. The gains from working 6 to 12 months on a project and not making money are pretty strenuous. And if you don't win, that time was wasted because no one wants to party with the #2 or #3 guy :( The competition I was in was a 12 month one and there was no pay out to the winner.
