Do You Think Everyone Can Make Money On Sites Like iWriter?

iWriter is an article and content service where you can buy & sell your content.

With strict rules like this:

Never Pay A Dime
Until You're 100% Satisfied
With The Content We Write For You.

It must be a bit difficult to make money on this site if you're not fluent in english, is that correct? I suppose, judging by the above text, that buyers can request how many edits or changes they want..?

I have never used iWriter myself, not as a seller or a buyer but I do know others who used it for a very long time, just for making a few extra bucks every now and then.

They are fluent in english and they produce super high quality, so I suppose that's why they're generating a steady cash-flow from there. Most of their clients are satisfied immediately and they usually don't request any changes or edits.

How about people like me for instance? I'm from Sweden and not fluent in english. Do you think guys like me would have a chance to earn something from sites like that?

I definitely think that anyone can make money on iWriter. You won't have full time work right away, but after a few months you'll notice return buyers because of your work. Return buyers and previous buyers referring others is a huge part of anyones income. If you're not capitalizing on referrals, you're just falling behind Do You Think Everyone Can Make Money On Sites Like iWriter?

A few things to take in account when starting to write for a website like iWriter.
  • Time Invested: You'll have to invest a bit of time at first and try to not go crazy. You need to build up your profile as much as possible so that people will begin to hire you without even contacting you. If your profile shows that you've got a lot of work done, and it's well reviewed, they're more likely to just hire you up front and talk to you after, which is always nice.
  • Authority: You won't be an instant hit when making an account on these types of websites because you just don't have the type of authority a veteran does. You won't have great reviews on XXX amount of articles, but hopefully you will soon Do You Think Everyone Can Make Money On Sites Like iWriter? After grinding out 30 to 40 articles for your clients you'll begin to see more spontaneous orders from people just glancing at your account and thinking you're the right fit. the amount of orders completed is similar to your reviews. Finishing 1 or 2 articles and having a couple positive reviews isn't the same as having 100 articles done and having 99 positive reviews. Sure you'll have a 100% rating, but the buyer will see that you don't have as much experience as the 99% writer.
  • Language: If you're fluent in English you'll obviously sell more to Americans, Canadians, British and anyone of English decent. If you don't have a high English level then you can just cut out anyone willing to pay top dollar for your content. I'm not staying that you're excluded completely, but you will not be able to target a huge part of the buyers looking for English content.

Hey Razzy,
Thank you for the awesome tips. That will sure help others who's interested in an extra income using iWriter. Do You Think Everyone Can Make Money On Sites Like iWriter?

So, with all the things mentioned above, iWriter seems like Seocheckout in a way, especially when it comes to building your reputation to gain clients and to get orders?

As I've never used iWriter myself, I do have one question. Is it only used to buy and sell articles, or would you be able to provide other things too? Writing related that is. Such as forum posts or blog posts for instance?

Iwriter used to be much better than it is now. I would never try to compare with seocheckout, because I actually quit there to focus more time here.
1. Support staff are not helpful at all. You contact them to let them now of a requester who basically ripped you off by rejecting your work and not paying, but they just say, ' we cannot force him to accept it' . This happened more than once, and believe me it is enraging when you then come across the article you wrote that he actually did use.
2. Rates are not that good.
3. There are many requesters who you would not want to work for ex. you see that most have a low approval rate, and so chances are they will just reject your work.

Hey EliteWriter,
Thanks for the clarifications. I appreciate it, and others will benefit from your experiences too.. And that's what this is all about! Gain knowledge, for free, from true experts.

However, I didn't mean to compare it to Seocheckout in more than one specific way, and that would be "build your reputation". Like you do literally everywhere when it comes to selling.

So, you could end up working for several hours without even the slightest chance to keep the money, in case buyers rejects your work? And that sort of things happens frequently?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
Yes. It happens often. The thing is that I got tens of rejections over there within a period where I got none here. So it is not that what I wrote was low quality or there was something wrong with it. Because if that was the case I would have had the same experience over here. It really puts you off when you try to get some support from support staff, but all they tell you is that they cannot force a requester to approve the article. I do not think it is fair that they do not even look into it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
Yes anyone can give it a shot, if they have some writing skills. Articles are mainly requested in English, but I also saw some in French and German. You need to wait to increase the rate a bit, and worse than that, from my experience it is not worth putting much hope on this site mainly because requesters are often rejecting articles and you basically end up writing for hours to get paid nothing. You then try to get some help from support staff but they do not care. They are not supportive at all. In fact after about 5 years I stopped writing there.

Anyone can earn from the sites like iwriter. However, whether you can earn or not depends on a number of factors such as:
English language skills
writing skills
Ability to work fast
patience
dedication.
If you lack one of the aforementioned skills, you are not earning on the sites like iwriter.

I used to write articles there, and I used to be quite happy. But lately I have noticed that there has been a deterioration in the number of projects available, most of which seem to be by requesters who are not to be trusted since they have a low approval rate.
I have had my share of bad experiences over there with requesters rejecting articles without no good reason or a banal excuse and then using them. Still support do not really care and when contacted they never did anything about it.
This has led me to stop writing there.

I've heard similar things about Upwork (previously Odesk/ Elance). I have heard that they used to be quite a good platform to be on but things have just done down and also lots of problems with buyers not approving work and not giving sufficient reasons for it.

This is something that put me off trying out any of these websites.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
Yes. And now it seems that even requesters are refraining from using the site compared to how it used to be before. I am saying this because I remember I used to log in and get 8 or more pages of articles from where to choose when I wrote there some 2 years ago. Now lately you only get like 2-3 pages, and out of them you only see a couple who have a decent approval rate. Others are like 2 Approved, 13 Rejected - and so you think - what are my chances of getting an article approved from this guy? Very minimal right?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Lynne
I would never bother with that then. That is a ridiculous approval rate.
I do wonder though whether a reason for this could be that there are now so many people on the websites competing for work and perhaps there are people writing that just don't have the necessary skills and aptitude? If people are desperate for money and work they could be on those websites offering ridiculously low prices to requesters and doing an awful job?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
The prices are set according to the level of the writer. So if you have reached premium level, you can take up standard or premium articles, but you cannot select the elite ones.

It could be that the level of the writers is not that high despite the rigid rating system. But I personally think it is more an indication that requesters try to steal content since there is no proper safety net for writers from support staff. The serious requesters seem to have found other options instead of Iwriter I believe.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Lynne
Yes that is the feeling I got too, that the requesters are dishonest and try and steal the content from the writers. That is really off-putting. I wrote a review about Upwork and that is what the jist of it was. Too hard to make money because work is rejected too often and even though the work is rejected it is used.

If work is used even if it is rejected it should be paid for. I would be really peeved off if this happened to me.

I have not really spent time on sites like iWriter, I just haven't had the time. I do think that if you really want to make money online writing, why not just write for your own website? I only have time to write for my own websites.

But with time, hard work and dedication I am sure you can make some good writing for sites like this, like you say what is stopping you other than yourself? If your home language is not English you fooled me for sure, so I doubt that will stand in your way at all.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
To start earning something over there you need to go through a long process. You start with a standard rate, which is pitiful, ex. $3.62 for a 300 word article. Then you go up to premium, after writing several articles and managing to retain a good rating (which depends on how requesters rate you - and from my experience most of them are unfair, giving you 3 stars for no particular reason, and even a 4 star rating reduces your overall rating considerably). After Premium you might go up to Elite where you get $10.67 for a 300word article.

That doesn't sound good at all!

I recently had someone approach me and ask me to do content writing for his websites. He offered me R750 per 500 word article which is equivalent to about $75 and I said no... I have trouble keeping up writing for my own websites as it is.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
That is high! I would have devoted time to write it for sure at that rate. But if you do not fancy content writing that much you may still not be inclined to do it whatever the rate I guess. We are all good at something and hate other things right?

Speaking of rates, I forgot to mention that Iwriter has a $30 threshold as a minimum amount one needs to have before getting a payout. So effectively if you are just starting on the site you would need to write several articles, such as about eight 500word articles before cashing out.

Oh no you got me wrong Do You Think Everyone Can Make Money On Sites Like iWriter? I LOVE content writing, but only when it is something I am passionate about, something for my own websites. If I am given something to write about well then it feels like work and a bit like a school essay I have to write!

I am sure that if I am given a really boring topic I would not be able to write about it, how do you manage when something like that happens to you? How do you make it sound interesting and great when it is such a dull topic?

Maybe I should refer him to you... with my affiliate link of course!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EliteWriter
Yeah, why not Do You Think Everyone Can Make Money On Sites Like iWriter?

I had tons of boring topics to write on, and several which I had no idea about. I force myself to do some research no matter how tedious and boring it tends to get so as to try and understand the gist of it and be able to write about it. When it is a short article I manage, but when it is longish I prefer to divide it up so as not to get too bored and thus risk reducing the quality of the work. So I take breaks while trying to set a completion time to make sure I do it. But no matter what I try to do it to the best of my ability.

Not everyone can make money on the sites like iwriter. I was on iwriter, I even wrote an article. Howerver, most of my articles were turned down. I left the site. I still have account there, but I don't visit the site any more. I am also on Upwork. I have made good money in the past, but these days I don't get any writing jobs on upwork. Freelance sites may not work for everyone.

I think I have an account with iWriter but it didn’t prosper because it needs a lot of time to write and submit. I had also been to some article sites that pay when your article is published. However, I am sticking to my main line of providing content for forums because it is easier and I enjoy the learning I get from the discussions that I read. The learning is the added benefit unlike when submitting articles where I don’t get anything except the payment when my article is bought or published.
