What do you use for video editing?

Hey everyone,

I've wanted to edit some videos for a while but need some help. I've been wanting to edit and upload some gameplay videos from my own gameplay and some of my friends gameplay online. I've looked around for free and paid video editing software and I've found a few that I think I could use in order to get the job done, but I'd like your opinion before I jump in What do you use for video editing?

I've looked through dozens of software and I've come to the conclusion that it's in my best bet to go with the adobe premiere elements 14 as my video editor. Not only does it has good reviews, but it's well within my budget What do you use for video editing?

Certain things I really like on adobe premiere elements 14 are as follows:
Price: $304.00 to $349.00 depending on where you get it. I found it being sold by adobe, on amazon, for $304.00 which is very affordable for this type of software. On Amazon: Adobe Premiere Elements 14
Output: I can edit and output all my videos in 1080p or 4k resolution, which is pretty awesome since a lot of TVs and computer screens are only getting better with resolution. I actually plan on getting a 4k TV if I can find one under $3,000 lol What do you use for video editing?

Certain things I'm not a fan of with adobe premiere elements 14 are as follows:
Fast Processor: In all the reviews I've seen, they say you'll need an i7 processor, or better, in order to use the software to it's full potential. I'm sure I could still use it with an i3 or an i5 just fine, but who wants software that they can't use fully What do you use for video editing?
Tons of Ram: I've seen that you need to jam as much ram into your computer as possible in order to use this well. Some people are using 16gbs of ram in order to have the software flow well. Not many laptops can run this I would assume What do you use for video editing?

In the end I would say I should buy this, but only after I boost up the ram in my desktop. I definitely can't use this on my laptop since I don't think I have enough ram in it.

What do you all think?

Thanks,

Razzy

There are a couple different video editing programs out there i have a few i personally like to use. Power Director 14 Deluxe is one i can really recommend your working with more than 500 templates and effects a few preset movie styles to set the tone and mood Background music and sounds are also included definetly a good buy i just wouldnt recommend for begginners to honest. Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016 Provides a redesigned user interface and Comes with many more templates, this one on the other hand is very user friendly and i would also suggest it.

Thank you for these suggestions. My daughter is the video creator in the family. Would these be good for a preteen or teen to use for Youtube gamer video projects? Would love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks.

Razzy thanks for this information on video editing with Adobe Premier Elements 4. It sounds too complex for me though. I am looking for something really basic, possibly even a free tool that will allow me to easily edit just a few things.

You know something for techie dummies?

There are a few good ones out there, but I think they are only free because they put a huge water mark over your video when you're done What do you use for video editing?

I'll look for a little while and get back to you if I find any that are worth downloading What do you use for video editing?

Hi Razzy,

When I first started editing videos, I used Windows Movie Maker and it was absolutely awful. I then went and got Cyber Link Power Director and it is very good. It is not cheap but it is extremely good for editing videos and there are lots of features you can use; I am still learning to use the software because it just offers so many features. I have never used Adobe Premiere Elements 14 but I heard good things about it so I think that is also a good option too but I would recommend Cyber Link Power Director.

Do you remember how much this software costs? I will check on Amazon or official website for it. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Power Director costs £59.99 for the latest version at the moment and that is around $120. However, when I purchased it, I got the Director suite and got it during a special offer at around £100 which is around $230. Currently, it costs $249.99 which is nearly $300. I recommend the suite though as you get everything you need from it. You might be able to get it cheaper on Amazon but I personally got it from the officially website during a sale. It is very good and you can check out some of its features here: http://www.cyberlink.com/products/...tures_en_GB.html

Kind regards,
MasterA

My husband makes videos for personal use. His software is Adobe Premiere but the old version because our digital camera is not HD in resolution yet. The size of the video is 480x640 pixels. But I'd say it's good enough for the purpose because we can watch the video on our tv and also in the cellphone when it is uploaded in Youtube. He said that the Adobe software is easy to learn and easy to operate. However, it is choosy in the format since it does not accept all video formats. Pinnacle is a better software when it comes to formats.
