My laptop charger is over heating

Is it normal for the plug in charger to over heat? Just that section in the middle that looks like a brick gets very hot now. This is the first laptop that I owned, so I'm not sure this is normal.

You must disconnect your charger occasionally or it will burn out and stop working. You can take the two parts of the charger apart, where it plugs into the brick in the middle. This will allow your charger to cool down until you need to power up again.

Laptops are prone to overheating. So you will have to shut your computer down occasionally to prevent power failure or burn out.

That goes for your charger too.

Mine overheats too on the same part you mentioned. I think it is normal because that part controls heat to prevent the laptop from burning.

I prefer not to use the laptop while it is charging.

Is the room you are in with proper ventilation? I don’t remember using my laptop in a warm room. It’s either there is an air conditioner working or an electric fan. The laptop emits heat from the interior because it is a working machine and if the room temperature is hot then the internal heat will be aggravated. Also, the front part of the laptop should be elevated so the heat can escape from under the laptop.
