Free or cheap lifetime hosting. Is this a scam?

If you saw a hosting company online that promised free or very cheap life time hosting with unlimited bandwidth, would you think it was a scam?

Most of them are NOT scams. The real issue is whether or not they'll STAY online long enough for you to either make enough to buy real web hosting or get your business/forum/etc. launched. I personally use http://3jelly.com/ its one of my favorites and I've seen a LOT. The real issue with the bandwidth is if you NEED unlimited bandwidth. Most people think they do but they don't, and even though most companies say unlimited bandwidth but really only give you 10,000-100,000 GB of bandwidth. Noone needs that much unless your running a torrenting site or a site that has millions of visitors every or a script that would take up tons of bandwidth, also known as a CPU-intensive script. Just a small tip for you, always check if the websites a scam using this: http://www.scamadviser.com/ It says 3jelly is a site you should take care around but I don't mind because I'm happy with the service they have provided thus far. Haven't had any downtime yet. Hope this helped!

There are plenty of hosts out there offering free services. So yes, this can be possible. You may find that it's not a scam. You can see 000webhost, angelfire and tripod offering the free hosting service. And they are offering this for more than 20 years. And still going strong. So it depends on what you want from them. Don't expect to have some high quality content and business website hosted on the free hosting server. Most of the people just have the home page on such sites.
