What's the cheapest price for domains?

Just recently, I saw a $2.50 deal on domain names. That's way cheaper than what I paid for my last domain name. What's the cheapest price you've seen or paid for a domain?

The least I've paid for a domain is $3.00, though that was part of a package deal, where you buy a full price domain and get the second one discounted. I didn't do much with the discounted domain as it was an impulse purchase.

I don't buy domains based on price, but on need. If I need a new domain name for a site, then I will simply buy it through my hosting company as it's easier to control the domain name and associate with my existing hosting rather than dealing with name servers later.

I have bought many domains for 88 cents. This is the cheapest price I have ever paid for a domain. However, the domains I paid 88 cents to register cost be upto $102 to renew. Therefore 88 cents domains were not actually that cheap. A dot com cost $15 to register and $15 to renew, I registered dot online for 88 cents and paid $102 to renew. You can calculate yourself, which domain is cheaper. Currently Namecheap is giving some domains for $10 for the period of 5 years (no need to renew for the first 5 years).

The cheapest I have seen is $2.99. I have always known $3 to be the cheapest. The $2.50 you mentioned could be a Christmas offer.
